Upon arrival, your senses will notice that unassumingly from the outside Crescent’s home-salon is so beautiful in hues of blue. Unlike other nail salons or (chop shops) as I now refer to them in hindsight, there is no harsh smell, but more like an aroma of luxurious self-care fills the air. That nail pic you found on insta or Pinterest and you don’t know who could recreate? Crescent’s been glamming nails for over 20 years. She’s got you! Until meeting her, I had no idea that having my nails done could be as exciting, therapeutic and endearing of an experience. Her pricing for new clientele is upscale to affordable for repeat customers but that’s the price to pay for guaranteed quality. Never have I ever had a “bad set” or a bad time with her! In fact, I was so impressed by my results that I booked appointments for all FOUR of my younger sisters so that they could share my joy and watch/learn from the best. Hands down Crescent is the OG Polygel Girly of Kalamazoo! A true ten out of ten! ???
I’ve not know many nail salons that constantly slay every time you go in but at Catherine Nails it’s ALWAYS a sure thing! I’ve been going to her since she was working out of her apartment and she never disappoints along with her girls! If I ever moved I don’t know what I’d do so I may NEVER move

I emailed in the morning asking if there was anyway for the Heirloom staff to accommodate a very last minute tattoo request and Mae spent and hour emailing me back and forth to organize a time with one of their artist, they were patient and helpful despite the really short time we had and was able to schedule me time with Lacey
Lacey was absolutely amazing! She was attentive and worked with me on a design within my budget as well as time constraints. She also took the time to explain needle expiration, as someone with plenty of tattoos this was new and provided education I didn't have previously
I had to take an important phonecall mid appointment and Kacey was incredibly gracious, over all great conversation and bed side manner

I've been with Dr. Nabors for more than a year; he is superlative, and unlike any therapist I've ever had. Professional and intelligent, he wields an impressive ability to see into my personality for the purpose of optimizing it. During our sessions, I routinely get the sense he knows how to work for me in ways I do not, and the fruits of our conversations are visible in my life.
This was my first time working with these lovely ladies. After an initial consultation, they helped me find hair products to prepare my hair for upcoming color sessions and better health.At my visit, they did a great job making me feel welcome and heard. The aftermath of my appointment was a great haircut and beautiful color.After a few days with my new color, I realized it was a bit too blonde for what I was hoping to go for. I have been on the hunt for a hair stylist & salon in SW Michigan that focuses on your hair and scalp health and helps you understand the best aftercare for your hair. This has been extremely difficult until now. I am so happy to find this salon, Ann was so friendly and educational. The scalp analysis was AWESOME and I’m glad I did it. I now know why I’ve been having the issues I do and Ann was able to give me some things to try to fix it. My color & cut look incredible and the pricing is fair and transparent. I pre booked my next few appointments which is something I don’t generally do and definitely a testament to how happy I am with my services!

I'd been watching Sarah's ASMR head spa videos to help me sleep for over a year all the way from Washington, DC, but never considered making my way to Kalamazoo just for that.
I ended up finding a head spa in VA but was left underwhelmed, so I vowed that if I ever tried again, I'd go see Sarah. A few months later, an opening popped up at Iris for October, so I booked it on a whim and figured out transportation and hotel after the fact (flying into Detroit in the morning, renting a car, driving to Kalamazoo for the appointment, then flying back the next morning).
When I tell you, it was all worth it! Sarah's magic hands made all my pain and stress melt away. I got the Ultimate Relaxation Package, which included a facial and head spa.
She was so kind and sweet, and made the experience so much more special and memorable than I could have imagined. I left feeling weightless and with beautiful hair, clean scalp, and glowing skin. Have already told my friends about her and I will definitely be back too!

This was the most relaxing 45 minutes I've had in months. I got a wash and cut, and I could literally feel every muscle in my shoulder relax with Mallorys hands in my hair. Like a little cleaning massage. I legit asked her how much they'd charge if I just came in and wanted her to wash my hair. Lol.
The actual haircut was relaxing as well. I didn't know that could be a thing, but the background music and quiet atmosphere made it so. I didn't think to ask for a quiet appointment but when I told her I just wanted to relax she just did her thing and let me chill.
The haircut was a correction from a cut I got at Tuscany and it turned out better than I thought it would.
Another really nice thing Mallory did was, when I mentioned I had a sensory issue with the little hairs on my skin, she blow dried my hair longer and got my neck and upper back too. She did it so well that when I showered, hardly any bits came out.
10/10 would recommend this place and Mallory in particular.

I’ve had Nicole do my hair for a couple years now and she always does a beautiful job regardless of what it is! I’ve done highlights, platinum blonde, black with money pieces and curtain bangs, pink , you name it. She’s hands down the best stylist I’ve ever had because she always delivers what I’m looking for in a way that I can maintain and keep my hair healthy.
Trim is where my stylist Michele makes me look gooood. Haven't let her dye, highlight or all out change my hair color yet, which she's exceptional at, but you never know what the future holds lol. It's a cute little salon that also sells fun local driven merchandise. So stop in, treat yourself to a new look and a fun t-shirt.

Juan is outstanding Barber. He was recommended to by my son. He asked what and how I wanted my cut including length, how close I wanted on the sides to include my beard. I have lived in Kalamazoo for 6 years now and had yet to find a good barber, until today. My barber in my hometown had cut my hair for 14 years of my life until he retired to Florida a few years ago, since then I have had trouble finding a barber in the area that even came close to his work, that changed today with Ryan. He gave me exactly what I asked for and he didn’t talk my ear off! (Which is VERY important to me and seems to happen often at salons when I go) Thank you Ryan, you have found yourself a new regular customer.

I can't tell which gal behind the desk is actually the owner because they all treat you like their business depends on your satisfaction. I use the spray tanning and love it, but they have all different kinds of beds available. Their monthly fees are reasonably priced, and the place is kept super clean.
UPDATE - It's been (6) years since I left that initial review, and I still stand by every word of it. They've updated their tanning equipment, too. I'm still a loyal customer.

I give Island Heat Tanning a solid 5 stars (10?)The place is always clean and the workers are so knowledgeable and polite. I needed help with what to do to get prepared for my trip to Hawaii. I knew I needed to start early so my skin wouldn't be screaming at me ?. I am getting a very good base going and am now bronzing. EDIT: since new ownership (no longer UTan) I have absolutely zero complaints. The new beds are phenomenal. Staff is great per usual. 10/10 recommend————Great place overall, but if you’re on a schedule or driving out only for the purpose of tanning, you might want to call to check if they’re open first… Especially if you’re someone like myself who only visits a couple times a month at most. Their hours seem to change quite often, specifically on the weekends, and their hours posted on the building don’t always match up with what’s posted online — whether it’s Google, their website, or their social media. There have now been 4 occasions over the last year where they’ve been closed when I got there, but it said they were open online, or I was going off of a photo I took of their hours posted on the building in the previous weeks. Otherwise, the staff is always super nice and the place is pretty clean.

Get ready for a long one! We had the BEST experience at AA nails! When I first started looking for a place to get my nails done I was super hesitant and scouring reviews for every nail place in town. We were getting nails done for my wedding so I was super picky on the place I chose. I messaged them via Facebook and within 5-10 minutes I had a response and they answered all my questions and even offered complementary champagne and fruit basket, when I told them that I was allergic to raspberries and blackberries they instantly offered cheese, crackers and ham, even though they didn’t have to. When we walked in today, one of their twin daughters was there and was so sweet opening the door for us, and offering us water, and hanging out with us, talking with us and giving her opinions on colors, and sharing her knowledge. Another thing that blew my mind is I walked in said hi, and they knew my name, I honestly felt so incredibly special, and even more so when I walked in and the champagne and snacks were set up, it was more than I ever expected, we were given neck warmers, and treated with the upmost respect and everyone was so excited for us. I have really short nail beds so my nails don’t grow, at other nail places I’m ridiculed for this, instead here, I showed the nail tech what I wanted and he said because my nail beds were short he wouldn’t recommend that design he would do it, or he could do a flower, I showed him my wedding dress because a flower wouldn’t have worked because I have no flowers in my dress but rather leafy patterns, he said he knew exactly what to do and said he would do one nail and then let me decide. When I tell you when I saw the first nail and started tearing up because I never thought my wedding nails could be so beautiful it’s the truth. Thank you so much to everyone at AA nails who made me feel so special and also my party so special! We will definitely be back and I am so thankful for my nails and can’t wait to see them in photos!!

This place was recommended by co-workers and it’s seriously the best salon in town. They do amazingly quality work, they take their time, and their dip manicure lasts me 3 weeks every time. Prices are reasonable and they so appointments and walk-in.

Beautiful place, very clean and organized, and reasonably priced! Massage chairs are comfy, and I really enjoyed my mani pedi. I had a painful ingrown toenail, and they were very helpful and gentle. I’m definitely coming back!

I live just over an hour away and went to a local salon where the tech harmed my nails and the final result was nothing short of a nightmare! I called Gary and made an appointment, Him & his wife fixed my nails up and they’re perfect *chefs kiss* ! Highly recommend I’ll never go to another salon again! When you walk into Bliss it is a warm environment. Everyone is welcoming and is kind. I brought my 4 year old with me one time, which is not ideal because she’s 4 and gets bored, but everyone so sweet and kind to her. They were including her in what they were doing and making feel like she was a big deal, which she loved! Emily always has me walking out of the salon feeling great about the way I look! I go trusting that what I have in mind will happen and I am always happy with the outcome! It turns out better than I imagined but also if I am wanting something that may not work with my hair, Emily is always honest and lets me know before she does anything. I love how FeeFee does my eyebrows, I asked her to leave them as thick as possible and she delivered. My brows grow uneven and she was effortlessly able to even them out in a way that looked natural and remained thick. Ariel is awesome. I had a wonderful Signature Facial Treatment. So soothing, wonderful and relaxing. Products were super. Ariel did some extractions and used an ultrasonic skin scrubber to get stuff out of the pores. Best ever ❤️

I have been working with Ian for several months now and I have to say his work is amazing. I initially went to get a massage to relax after some stressful work, but that has now turned into a monthly appointment with Ian helping me regain my range of motion in my shoulders after a weight-lifting injury. My wife and I are so impressed with amount of range of motion I have gained since Ian started working on them. Personally Ian is wonderful, friendly, professional, asks questions to better understand what is needed. As for the business it is very relaxing walking in, very quiet, and most importantly, very clean and professional. If you're looking for a great massage from a reputable place, I highly recommend Ian at Inspiring Hands! Oh and I am a real person and this is a real review. I have been going to Blush for my hair for 4 years. I've got coarse, thick Asian hair which I've been told it takes some extra expertise to manage, but Blush has that expertise and has done an amazing job with my hair. I went from straight up black to platinum blonde, kept the blonde for about a year, and then have been copper for nearly 3 years and did it all at Blush, first with Searra and then with Megan. They listen to my hair goals and give their knowledge and input as well to achieve the best look for me. My hair has been healthy throughout all of the dying and root touch-ups. Meghan also recently gave me curtain bangs, which I love! The place is always clean and the decor is really cute. Making appointments is easy. And I think prices are very reasonable!

I emailed in the morning asking if there was anyway for the Heirloom staff to accommodate a very last minute tattoo request and Mae spent and hour emailing me back and forth to organize a time with one of their artist, they were patient and helpful despite the really short time we had and was able to schedule me time with Lacey
Lacey was absolutely amazing! She was attentive and worked with me on a design within my budget as well as time constraints. She also took the time to explain needle expiration, as someone with plenty of tattoos this was new and provided education I didn't have previously
I had to take an important phonecall mid appointment and Kacey was incredibly gracious, over all great conversation and bed side manner

I worked with Dan and his crew at Helmus Plumbing to replace some old galvanized pipes and re-work basically the entire plumbing system in our basement. They did a fantastic job and the price was very reasonable. Very happy with their work and customer service.

I was looking to have a Generac standby generator installed and Waggoner’s was one of the few contractors to actually have them in stock. Tom came over within a few days and gave me a very reasonable quote. The two installers were professional, polite and very friendly. I couldn’t be happier with the installation. So I very highly recommend Tom for this or any other electrical service needs you may have.Update: When 45,000 people in Kalamazoo were without power due to an ice storm, I was one of the few people that did not have to worry thanks to the Generac installed by Tom. My entire neighbor was completely shut down, but my generator smoothly ran for 84 hours until power was slowly restored. Best investment I’ve ever made. It was worth every penny.

We had a great experience working with AA Electric. We felt that they were extremely fair and professional, and good at communicating about the work that they were doing. Dan worked very efficiently to help re-wire our old home and completed the job in less time than anticipated, explaining everything in detail. He also came back out when we had a follow-up question. We will definitely keep working with them when we need an electrician.
Our Home Serve insurance had them out to fix a main line clog. They showed up early (which is wonderful for us!) And we're quick! They even fixed my loose toilet seat (it's silly, but I've been bugging my husband for months to fix it). They used cardboard and blocked off my sink so it didn't become a mess. They were great! Techs were very helpful. My dryer wasn’t drying well I called for lint removal and they pulled a lot of dog hair from the tube that runs to the back of the house. Suggested once a year until the dog passes.

I have had a great experience with Jeff in two different houses. The most recent was 1150' of white oak. Our job was 1.5 years from quote to start, and Jeff was patient and when his work started he took his time and made sure it was done well.

Had some granite countertops to cut and a short window to cut them. Central Tile took the job last second, was super flexible about drop off & pick up, and did a good job in less than a morning.

Truckers, turn onto Picadilly and go behind the building to line up with their ramp. The two ladies that set up the ramp and unloaded me were very helpful and nice to talk to. I got there early because I knew there would be a lot of cars going in and out back there later. I had to pull up some and let the chip guy out though. ? Luckily, he only had a pup trailer so it was easy for him to get out.

Replaced two egress windows in basement rooms. Every aspect, from initial contact through finished installation, went very well. Now retired, I spent about 20 years involved in sales of replacement windows. Not typical to have all go well at every stage, from beginning to end. Kudos for jobs well done and satisfying all our needs.
Recent installation of siding for gable ends of home. Though we provided materials, all contacts were made and kept in a friendly, professional manner. Clean up was immaculate. Workers were very kind, courteous and proficient at their jobs. Very satisfied!

Excellent landscaper! We purchased a new home with our lot leveled off when we closed on late fall. By early spring it was a mess since nothing could be done with it over the winter. We hired a company to seed the lawn and they recommended Jim Frommann to prepare our lot for seeding. Our lot had ruts in it from heavy rain from the gutters into our yard since it's just dirt, along with small rocks and branches. Frommann's did an excellent job of clearing out lot of weeds along with the rocks and branches. They also put extra dirt around the sidewalk, driveway and back patio so it's all a nice smooth surface. We also hired them to bury our downspouts to prevent more ruts forming when it rains. We are very pleased with the wonderful job they did. They've also done several other homes in the neighborhood and we all look great! I highly recommend them. All of their workers did a fantastic job.

They did an absolutely amazing job with removing our two trees in the front yard! They started promptly at 8am and did not stop (even in the pouring rain) until they were done, which was almost 2pm. From start to finish they were so professional. Our neighbors have even told us how great they did. I am sure they will be get calls from some of them soon.

I had a wonderful First visit as a new future member. They gave me the information I needed and wanted and took free X-rays and a check up for me for the treatment I got done abroad & helped me understand and made me reassured that everything looks good & to call them back when I’m done with my final 4 on 4 new forever teath from Mexico & to have them as my new dentist for my routine checkups when I come back. I don’t remember the dentist name but he was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Everyone there was lovely and I look forward to have them as my new dentist locally when I come back home after Mexico?

Have been going to Dr.Josh for a couple years and recently I had to stop going for about a month or so and I was in a great deal of pain I was finally able to get back to attending his services , he adjusted my lower spine and hip and neck wonderfully it was so reliving so glad to be-able to get back to see him I highly recommend Dr.Josh to anyone with debilitating orthopedic and spinal pain.
I have been seeing Dr. Kate for chiropractic care during my pregnancy. I have felt physically amazing during my pregnancy, which I attribute a lot to Dr. Kate’s care and attention. Maybe almost more importantly to me, Dr. Kate has been the first doctor in my life who has made me feel empowered and makes me feel like my body is healthy and strong. She is so incredibly encouraging and insightful, and I look forward to the 10 minutes I get to spend with her every week. I would recommend this practice to literally everyone, and will be bringing my baby here as a patient when he is born as well. I can’t say nicer things about this amazing practice! The entire staff is fantastic and I will only be using them for chiropractic care from now on!
I had been going to see Dr. Keith weekly for quite some time but had to stop going due to time constraints. My issues all began coming back so I sought out another chiropractor closer to my work and who was "walk in". Not to shade these folks, but I always walked out feeling like nothing much had been done. I went back to Messamore Chiropractics because my history with Dr. Keith showed me an absolute improvement with my issues that I had not found with anyone else. 100% recommend! And front desk person is super sweet!!
Dr. Carla helped me with two pain-related issues. She is extremely thorough, compassionate, and ready and willing to refer out if the problem is outside of chiropractic scope. Through just a few visits and at-home PT exercises, my pain resolved each time. My only regret is that I didn't find them sooner. I highly recommend this practice.
I've been going to Dr. B for several years. I feel we work at a great team; he listens to my issues, & we work together to find a solution. He is kind, compassionate, easy to talk with, & knows his stuff!! His office staff is wonderful; they're efficient, friendly, & have become friends. The office is lovely - immaculate, & calm. A truly peaceful place. I love in Oshtemo Township, but am willing to drive to Whites Road because the quality of the treatment & care at Arbor Chiropractic is amazing!! We were visiting in Michigan at my grand daughter’s for our great granddaughter’s first Birthday Day and my husband’s sciatica went out. Called and got in that morning. Dr. Angel took such an interest in helping my husband and fixed his problem. So thankful. Nice office and a nice staff. Highly recommend it.
Dr. Prater is my go-to chiropractor in the Kalamazoo area. When it comes to chiropractors I am a skeptic, too many make unfounded promises and try to sell you on expensive packages, this is NOT Dr. Prater. Dr. Prater takes an evidence-based approach and not only provided excellent care during my visit, but also equipped me with the tools and knowledge to continue my rehab at home. It may be another few years before I return, but I will always be returning to Dr. Prater's practice when necessary!

I have not needed Dr. Vahue for chiropractic services. However, I receive massage therapy from Tabitha in his office. I am not as consistent as I would like to be, but Tabitha always remembers me and my physical issues that need to be worked on. Tabitha is very respectful, and explains each movement. I am very pleased with the work she does on my body and the results she achieves with working out my "knots."
Dr. Donnell straightens out my back regularly. He's great at listening to what's going on and adjusting with great care of his patients.

After several phone call to get my sick dog into a new vet (mine left the practice) I was giving up hope someone would help get him in. The receptionist, Tina was the first person I spoke to who actually offered help right away and suggestions. I was luckily able to get in the same week. I had amazing service by everyone that helped him and the vet (owner) couldn't have been better. Everyone was supportive and made my very stressful week easier. This small business is definitely impressive! I will be returning here for all my vet needs and highly recommending them to everyone.
Dr. Dave was very patient with my Great Danes and took the time to answer my questions. The staff are really kind and supportive to doing whatever is best for the owner and pet both medically and financially.
My dog had a lump on his leg that we were 'watching.' It started to grow and the vet said he did not believe it was a lipoma and it had to go now. We scheduled surgery, three weeks later or so the lump was removed and biopsied. It came back as a low grade sarcoma, rare in dogs. The vet gave the news in the best way possible, honest but hopeful. The tumor may not grow back. It may grow back. If it does, we will have to make a serious decision about his leg. My dog is middle age, not old but definitely not a young dog. The vet gave me a lot of hope that IF we have to cross that bridge, this is what we would expect and he gave me reassurance about the procedure. He was knowledgeable and kind, and again, Hopeful. If you ever have to receive bad (to really bad) news from a vet, Dr. Buckley would be the one I'd want to get it from. A week before Christmas, I cannot express how much his kindness means. And he was definitely right, that tumor had to go asap.
The cost for the surgery was reasonable, not as low as the previous vet but lower than most operating in the twenty first century. Lol.
My only complaint, there's always something I suppose... I don't like the candle in the waiting room. I have asthma and I don't tolerate strong fragrance in a small area. A great vet experience, candle excluded. :-)

What a great place! A must is the beginners unlimited for your first month at a Huge discount! I went on various days and times to get exposure to all the instructors. The owner is so nice and has done a great job providing a variety of times to accommodate any schedule, with a great crew to lead you through your practice. I didn’t know what to expect for my first hot yoga and I loved it! They have showers, mats, towels, and everything is very clean. I have been following a standard physical routine for years and this is now an integral part of my recovery, strength, flexibility, and injury prevention. I go at least once a week now on my recovery days to strengthen my core, improve balance and have better body awareness. If you get a chance, check out the yoga nidra class with Jess! Life changing. Amazing hot Yoga Studio! starting with the staff: the instructions are great (Heidi and Amanda) are some of the best yoga instructors in the valley with fun and upbeat classes. The studio is very hot (the way I prefer it), the lay out of the room is great with sufficient space so it never feels crowded. Also the locker rooms are very nice and always clean. I am glad they offer a 6pm evening classes and 4pm weekend classes too. I am thankful for the studio and cant wait to practice again

I was nervous to have my first professional massage. I don't like strangers touching me, but being in the dental field a massage was well over due. Had a couple massage done with my husband and we left so relaxed and not sore! We will definitely be back! Amazing staff make sure your comfortable and do amazing job!
