“When I moved to East Boston mid 2021 it has been a couple of years since my little guy had been to a structured daycare. By that point there had been a lot of changes in life, personal and work, on top of spending 24/7 by my side the past 2 years. When I mentioned this to a close friend he had nothing but amazing things to say about Harbor Hounds. The amazing difference he saw in his timid pup with her confidence was night and day. While my little dude is anything but timid, his anxiety (seperation and otherwise) was at an all time high.My dog has been at Harbor Hounds for 2 years now and cannot say enough great things. Sarah, Lindsey and the rest of the employees there are beyond kind and caring. No matter the day, every time I drop him off his tail is always wagging. They let Yuki be Yuki all while helping him improve and learn along the way. It's made a huge difference in both his and my life.“

“Four Paws is amazing!! We have an elderly cocker spaniel who has heart and mobility issues and it is so comforting the attention and caring the Four Paws Team gives to our Casey !! He went in for a grooming this week and was having some difficulties but instead of ending the grooming, the staff took extra care of him while keeping us informed on how he was doing with texts and pictures. Can’t say enough on not only the amazing grooming but the care given.Highly recommend Four Paws!!!“

“I have brought my Brittanypoo for grooming every 3-4 months and everyone there is great. I am so surprised that I was told she would be ready in 2 hours and it was 5 hours later when I got her. She was definitely traumatized, vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days after.She also had to be treated for a shoulder injury. Xena is a handful I know but I schedule her early am to minimize the trauma, I called and was told she was to nervous and had to be worked on slowly and my husband was told there had been equipment problems. I don’t know what happened that day but I am afraid to bring her back. Xena gets car sick so I bring her there because it’s 5 minutes from my home, I wish they had called me to come and get her until they could focus on her. I am disappointed and discouraged and fearful that I won’t be able to get her to go back. They were always kind and careful with her and protected her ear problems and bad Matt’s it was an overall bad day for them but Xena paid the price. I do recommend them for a crate trained dog who isn’t fearful of the process. I guess I am an overprotective mom but she had a traumatic start in life and I do everything I can to keep her calm comfortable and safe. I write this at the urging of my Vet. and it makes me sad.“

“I met Kate thru our shared passion of dogs and our volunteer work for PawsNE and have known her for a couple of years. My husband and I have never boarded our dogs or had anyone they didn't know care for them if we went on vacation. This vacation was different as everyone they knew was going on vacation with us. We have 5 dogs, but 2 of them are special dogs ( and when I say special that means not just anyone could handle them ). We planned almost a year in advance of our trip to see who could possibly handle and care for our special dogs. One of the special ones stayed at home with his siblings and we had a live in caretaker. Milis, our most special pup is quite the handful! He was rescued in TN after being hit by a car and ending up with 2 broken legs. He was a stray, probably living in the wild/on the streets for quite sometime before he was rescued. So he is a fearful dog, with fear aggression and will lash out to anyone he deems a threat. We have had him as a foster fail for 9 months and he has made progress, but we still didn't trust sending him to someone without extensive canine knowledge and experience. When my husband dropped him off to Kate, she took immediate control of Milis and he quickly understood who was in charge. He settled in quickly and enjoyed the same comforts with Kate as he does at home. Kate updated us on his stay at her home and it allowed us to have a nice relaxing vacation. Knowing Milis was behaving appropriately ( thanks to Kate's structure and guidance) was a blessing. We enjoyed our vacation more than we expected, knowing Milis ( our most special pup) was in the safe and competent hands of a true professional! Thank you so much Kate! We owe you!“

“There are no words to truly show how much Dogwood Cottage has meant to us and to our dog, Leo, since we started going in 2021. We had tried a different place before, which made Leo nervous around dogs and humans. When we went to Dogwood, Leo loved playing with the sweet group of dogs that come to daycare- he even has a few girlfriends there now! We love seeing the pictures/videos of him playing with his buddies on the Dogwood Cottage Instagram and seeing how happy he is every time he goes! The love, and attention, and patience that the staff shows Leo continues to be above and beyond— it has helped Leo come out of his shell with humans. I know that a large reason for this staff culture is due to the leadership of Dogwood’s manager, Carl James. Not only is Carl incredibly knowledgable about dogs and their behavior, but I have come to know Carl closely and feel that I can speak to his kindness, dedication, and selflessness. He deeply cares for the dogs that come to Dogwood as well as the satisfaction of their human owners. Carl is responsive, responsible, organized, thoughtful, and I will always completely trust Leo in him and his staff’s care. Carl consistently goes above and beyond. Any place that Carl is, is a place that is lucky to have him and a place that we trust 100%.“

“My little guy gets so excited as we get close to Elliot's House; he can never wait to start playing with all his pup friends (and make new ones). I've been trying to get him here at least once a week, but may bump it up to two now that the weather is getting colder and the days darker. When I pick him up he's usually really amped from all the playtime, but after dinner quickly settles and chills with my husband and I on the couch - a tall order, as he is firmly in his angsty teen puppy phase. Weird aside, but I recently reached out to customer service to see if they've been cleaning him or spraying him with something before I pick him up, because he usually comes home smelling surprisingly fresh - I was told that nope, it's just the clean environment! All in all, this place is a great spot for your pup to get their socialization in and wind-up-toy energy out. I love that they know my guy by name (even if he's one of, like, seven Cooper's who visits), and I adore how happy he is to walk through the door each visit. Nice local spot filled with people who really care about their furry clients.“
