“We were fortunate to end up at New Generation Martial Arts. During the first one on one introductory class, Shihan LeMay, spent time with my son, taught him some of the very fundamental tenets of Karate, and showed him how to mediate. Since then, he has been going for classes once a week. He loves going for the classes and finds the teachers and other kids in the group to be awesome. I am very thankful to Shihan LeMay for sparking the interest in Karate for my son and guiding him further. A great teacher and coach can truly make a transformational difference.“

“I've been training at the dojo for almost 4 years now and I couldn't have asked for a better place to train. From the first lesson, they made me feel at home and part of the family and I began to learn the way of Karate. The level of knowledge and dedication is something I have not seen at other dojos and I feel lucky to be a part of it. Whether it's online classes or in person, there is something for everyone at all skill levels and ages. Best place I've ever trained by far, and is well worth a visit.“

“I had been wanting to give BJJ a go for years, and I couldn’t be happier that I made the choice to join Fenix. Phenomenal coaches, and phenomenal teammates come together to make an awesome environment to train. If you’re on the fence about starting your training journey, just do it. Sign up for that trial class. Get hooked, and then we can have that “I should have started 10 years ago” conversation.“

“My previous academy had closed down due to the pandemic, and I spent over two years searching for another bjj academy to restart my training. I must have trained at at least a dozen schools before word of mouth led me to MassBJJ Arlington in December 2023. I live in West Roxbury and gladly make the journey to Arlington every week, not just for the high caliber of instruction, but for the training partners who are welcoming, respectful, and (most importantly) highly skilled. Added bonus: weight training and cardio equipment.“

“Hanshi Steve is an excellent teacher, he is very patient and very patient. His staff Sensei Dawn and Sensei Janine are both great and make us feel at ease. My daughter has a developmental and behavioral disability and yet we were accepted with open arms and would definitely recommend them for kids to develop more confidence and discipline.“

“My daughter was a pupil here for thier after school program. My little brother was a former student and recomended it to us for our autistic daughter. She is not a very athletic type at all and we had major reservations but decided to give it a shot. Very glad we did. A great bonus is they pick up her from school along with the other students everyday and walk over to the stuido just 2 blocks away. They really were great with her. She is not a problem child at all but due to being on the autistic spectrum understandably would be a harder child to work with during the martial arts class portion of the daily structure. Master Disipio and all other staff was never once discouraging about her extremely slow progress and in fact was surprisingly optimistic about everything especially in motivating our very unmotivated daughter(lol) while still being sensitive to her differences to the other students. All and all a great alternative for the everyday after school program. Each day every child get a mix of play, education, self disipline and structure. Would highly recommend it.“

“This is a fantastic place, and a wonderful community, both for kids and adults. The instructors are excellent teachers, but what I love most is their commitment to each student. For adults, they meet you where you are in terms of fitness and knowledge, from absolute beginners to students who been practicing for years, and they then figure out how you can improve from there. For the kids, I have never seen a team of instructors invest such attention and care to every child in every class and then achieve success through positive encouragement. I've been a student myself for over ten years, as has my child, and I'm still learning and growing. Can't recommend highly enough!“

“Sensei Nathan runs fully dynamic classes where students of all ranks and experience are consistently engaged and giving 100%. The classes are energetic, allowing students full range of motion and their bodies while practicing real world application to get the muscle memory and experience they need. Sensei Nathan was excited to teach and his level of enthusiasm trickled down to the smallest white belt.“

“I gave my son the choice of another school but my son would only choose this school. He likes the strictness of the Senseis and also the school creed. The Senseis teach self defense and honorable fighting, and don't try to condition the kids to do vicious underhand fighting to deliberately hurt opponents. We were at a tournament when we saw competitors from other schools and we could clearly see a difference in kids and how they were taught from the way they fought other kids. I'm quite proud that many of the kids from this dojo won different medals for form and fighting, reflecting the quality of instruction. Also, the dojo is know for having awesome holiday parties for Halloween and Xmas!!!“

“I have been training at Boston Martial Arts for more than 10 years. After trying a number of different martial arts and schools, I was thrilled to find a dojo that is inclusive and diverse, offers a fun and cooperative learning environment, and teaches a really engaging and interesting art. After having had a bad experience at another dojo I realized how important it is to have a teacher that I deeply respect and whom I could see myself learning from for a very long time, and Mr. Mark Davis is that for me.I trained here throughout my grad school years and return to train whenever I can even though I no longer live in the area because the school and the art have beclme an important part of my life.Highly recommend.“

“Excellent teachers Gafa and Gigante! Great respectful students, outstanding cantigos (songs) and instuments. All techniques are in Brazilian Portuguese. Took my first class here and I'm staying. I also noticed they are very respectful of the whole Capoeira community as a whole and as a Brazilian, I really enjoyed everything about them. Reasonable price, they respond if you get in contact, 100/100 experience!“

“There are several things that you need to consider in a martial arts school. The instructor is probably the most important one than the actual style of martial art. Are the instructors qualified to teach or care about their students? Are there enough classes offered to keep a regular schedule? This school checks all right criteria to be a good school. Not only a good one, it is probably one of the best one in the world! This happens to be my 22nd martial arts school I attended during my lifetime, and I will have really hard time when I need to relocate due to my job. I am spoiled to drop in whenever I want since there are classes both noon time and in the afternoon all week. No schools have such a vast class offering. Thank you Mr. Hwang!“

“I have attended Ann Munchmeyer's Zumba classes at NEMA for 4 years. The classes are fun, each song has a different dance routine, and the mix of different genres is great. Try a class. You'll love it.“

“Steve Nugents karate Institute has 2 main karate schools or called "dojos", this one in Winchester and the main one on Cambridge Street in Burlington, Mass. They structure their programs around safety and awareness, overall respect, and good basic karate self defense skills. Their instructors led by Grandmaster Nugent are super trained, even in first aid and cpr, which I thought was excellent. They are super passionate and attentive toward their student and actually are quite caring, which I have never found in my searching for quality karate schools. Definitely check them out... I am very impressed !“

“Rising Storm Training Academy is a wonderful place for kids to learn the art of Martial Arts. Newly opened and offering great session times for working parents! Nathan, the head instructor and owner, has a real skill for teaching and engaging kids that can lose focus. The rates are very reasonable to. He offeres a free introductory lesson to try out. My son is having a super time and learning the art so quickly directly because of Nathans teaching.“
