“Anthony at APL, Inc. is a top-notch professional who employs the most skilled subcontractors, who were not only respectful towards my property, but my neighbors as well. Prior to starting the project, my neighbors received notification of the project from Anthony, including relevant details that might cause noise disturbances, which my neighbors very much appreciated! As the homeowner, I was always well-informed of all upcoming activities (i.e., when my heat or water to be shut off or inspector visits) and changes in scheduling due to weather or conflicts. A lockbox was always used for entry which really minimized unnecessary traffic and dirt throughout the house and allowed the contractors access when I was unavailable. The entire crew worked reasonable hours, made every effort to keep the work site clean as they worked, and protected my property by either removing items out of harm’s way or covering large items as needed. I can happily report that there were no damages to my property!APL, Inc. successfully completed many large-scale projects at my residence (installed an upgraded septic system, added 1000 sq foot of additional space that included a foundation, finished basement, and two bedrooms with an ensuite on the main floor, completely remodeled the kitchen, and repainted the entire house). At no point did I ever worry about how things would get done because Anthony’s competent team always had all the answers - I was presented with options (when applicable), warned of potential issues with my design choices, and the team was very accommodating with reasonable changes upon request.I am a very satisfied customer who expected to run into some issues along the way, but fortunately, there were none. Anthony was always open to different design options, mindful of waste, readily shared cost-saving strategies, and kept unavoidable inconveniences to a minimum for me and the neighborhood. “The project involved a house that was built in the 50s. We worked with Eds team and redesigned the layout of the house entirely. All that remained of the original house was the foundation and most of the framing. McDonald Contracting basically built a new home.With regards to the quality of work my wife and I could not be happier. Ed has a really good team of qualified subcontractors and he does a great job of coordinating their work.The project manager worked incredibly well with my wife and was always available, she had great ideas and added tremendous value to this project.“

“Jim and his son Henry came to replace some faucets for us and troubleshoot several older sink and shower faucets and drains. We have allergies in our family, and he and his son took extra care to keep us safe, which was very appreciated. They are able to come scent-free if anyone in your family is sensitive to scents! Jim is very knowledgeable and helped me order the right parts to fix everything properly. He and his son were both extremely pleasant and helpful, highly recommend!“

“I cannot say enough good things About Tru Design… I had an extensive kitchen renovation, which also involved incorporating a covered porch into the project to extend the kitchen and add a mudroom… I could not believe how well it went, and I lived in my house during all of the construction! Everyone who worked on the project was spectacular! They worked every day and on some Saturdays and never missed a beat. They were all great craftsmen and I am very pleased with the result. Ken, the project manager was extraordinary in coordinating everyone who worked on the project and making sure things ran smoothly. He came to the Project every day, first thing in the morning and last thing in at night. He also stopped in from time to time during the day to make sure things were going smoothly, and he really was magnificent! Amy, the kitchen designer was wonderful! She understood exactly what I wanted and also made me aware of things I didn’t know I needed!! She made the whole process very easy and the only tasks I ended up with were purchasing the appliances And going with her to pick out the quartz for the countertops and backsplashes.I cannot recommend Tru Design highly enough!!“

“We were immediately impressed with the speed of Ivy’s response to our request for an estimate for our bathroom renovation, Marvin came out exactly the day and time that was agreed upon and got to inspecting the bathroom.A day or 2 later Ivy got back to us with a comprehensive and detailed estimate and we quickly agreed to it. Marvin again came out some time later and we informed them that since we only have 1 bathroom that it would be imperative that they do it during our yearly vacation so we could vacate our house and leave them to do the job.We took an enormous leap of faith with Mavy home improvement but once we met Marvin, we felt really good about leaving our home in his hands. Marvin and Ivy’s lines of communication during the work was more than impressive, we received almost daily updates of the work with pictures and whenever there was a design or materials question , we’d get a call from Marvin asking what we wanted done.We received word that the job was completed a full 4 days before we got home along with pictures of the completed bathroom renovation.Marvin then did a walkthrough of the job and explained all the work they did with my wife. “If I'd known about Versatile Builders sooner, I would have remodeled my full bathroom years ago! Jimmy Vo and his crew are true professionals. Starting a home renovation project can be an intimidating experience. However, from our initial meeting, Jimmy made everything easy. He patiently explained the process in detail, provided a clear estimate - outlining the steps, costs and what I would be responsible for purchasing - and, answered my multiple questions along the way. Once they started the job, Jimmy proactively communicated with me to provide status updates and to help address any hiccups that arose along the way (i.e., Lowes delivered the wrong bathtub. Within minutes, Jimmy had coordinated with the plumbers to order and pick up a new one for me the next day, using their discount!). Most importantly, he was very forthcoming about anticipated timing for project completion and managed to finish the job even earlier than expected! The entire crew was friendly and absolutely meticulous. “We worked recently with Carrie and Eddie to get ideas and tile for our front entryway and rear mudroom. After visiting virtually all the tiles stores on Tile Mile, we found United to be the best by far. They listened to want we wanted, gave us great advice and options, and were so supportive throughout the process. Our situation was complicated since we wanted quite different tile for the two locations. They helped us select a perfect porcelain tile for the mudroom which we installed ourselves and it came out fantastic. Then, when trying to determine what to put in the very small entryway, Eddie came up with the idea about using a few leftover boxes he had of quite high end Spanish marble tile. It was great quality and a wonderful fit for the space. They deeply discounted the price so it was no more expensive than the porcelain tile, and then threw in the grout and quick set concrete for free. “I have worked with Evans Construction since 2021 and we have successfully completed a rehab of a 2 bed 1 bath house from the studs all the way to a finished 4 bed 3.5 bath in the heart of Medford. Evans construction was reliable and fair when it came to timelines and prices. I have since used Evans construction on my personal house to renovate my bathroom and have used him for my multi family property to get it into rental appropriate condition.
