“This was our third project with Bay State (complete kitchen remodel). It would be hard to overstate how great they are to work with. So professional, knowledgable, organized, and caring with details. The project was 100% on time (2 months), and at the budget we expected. I appreciated how invested they were with the outcome being perfect, and not just the bare minimum to get the job done. “We were immediately impressed with the speed of Ivy’s response to our request for an estimate for our bathroom renovation, Marvin came out exactly the day and time that was agreed upon and got to inspecting the bathroom.A day or 2 later Ivy got back to us with a comprehensive and detailed estimate and we quickly agreed to it. Marvin again came out some time later and we informed them that since we only have 1 bathroom that it would be imperative that they do it during our yearly vacation so we could vacate our house and leave them to do the job.We took an enormous leap of faith with Mavy home improvement but once we met Marvin, we felt really good about leaving our home in his hands. Marvin and Ivy’s lines of communication during the work was more than impressive, we received almost daily updates of the work with pictures and whenever there was a design or materials question , we’d get a call from Marvin asking what we wanted done.We received word that the job was completed a full 4 days before we got home along with pictures of the completed bathroom renovation.Marvin then did a walkthrough of the job and explained all the work they did with my wife. “We first met Boris and Gerry when the house they were building was nothing more than a hole in the ground. All that was available to see was the beginnings of the foundation. Our real estate agent thought that it was a property which might be interesting to us, and so she arranged for us to meet. We went to the building site, where we were shown the blueprints for the house to be built. The location was perfect, and the specs looked just like what we wanted, but we’d never heard of these builders before. Boris and Gerry supplied us with a list of references for a variety of jobs they had done in the area – a large single family, a gut-renovation of a town house, and more. We spoke to many of these home owners, and went to look at two of the houses, and were sold. We had never heard so many glowing recommendations for builders! The houses were magnificent, the workmanship was top-of-the line, and the homeowners couldn’t have been happier.We were ready to sign, but wanted to personalize some of the house features. Since we keep a kosher home, the design of the kitchen had to meet our specific needs. Boris and Gerry told us that this was no problem. They said that as long as we are able to specify any requests before construction was done, we could make any changes that we wanted, and we would not be charged anything extra. They were true to their word! We totally redesigned the kitchen from what the architect had planned. We customized the closets, we chose some of the tiles, and all of the paint colors. We changed locations of light fixtures, and had new fixtures added. We added a door, moved a closet, and totally changed the layout of the third floor. Anything that we wanted to customize, we did; and anything that we wanted to leave as originally planned, we left. The result was a house which was exactly what we wanted, with minimal amount of headache. We couldn’t be happier. They kept to their time schedule, and we were able to close exactly when they committed to us on that very first day that we met by the hole in the ground.We have been living in the house for six years and continue to enjoy it. Our relationship with Kenwood Builders is ongoing. Boris and Gerry have continued to provide service, and address all of our concerns. Due to the record snow of 2014, there were repairs that were required. There was no question about who we should call. Boris took care of all the necessary work, and even negotiated with our home-owner’s insurance company to get us the best settlement. We are confident in the knowledge that if a problem does occur in the house, they will respond and handle it with the same level of professionalism that they used in the building process.“
