2731 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago“I had a wonderful experience with Lauren at In-Motion Physical Therapy during my several sessions! I came in with significant Achilles pain associated with daily running, which seemed to be caused by both Haglund's Deformity and heel bursitis. I was unable to run, which has been my primary form of exercise for almost 15 years (I was a collegiate athlete). I had waiting for a long time (~ 3 months) trying to do various stretches myself before I finally decided to come in for physical therapy treatment. I'm really glad I did!
Lauren took a gradual approach in her recommendations for both exercises and for rehabilitation. We started out with exercises to reduce the pain and then gradually moved toward strengthening. We also addressed my cadence and neuromuscular coordination. Addressing the issue from multiple angles really helped me get back out on the road quickly, not just without pain but as a stronger runner as well. The best aspects of my treatment were the holistic approach as well as the fact that Lauren tailored the regimen to fit my needs and body.
I am now continuing to do my exercises and back to a regular running schedule! I can confidently say that In-Motion Physical Therapy is the best physical therapy in Lincoln Park, if not Chicago at large!“

Feast is the gold standard.“

1558 E 53rd St, Chicago“Very grateful for the two months I’ve spent with Anthos (so far)! I have enjoyed lifting on my own for the past few years but felt as if I reached a ceiling on my own knowledge and ability, and I often worried about injuring myself when increasing weights.
Joining Anthos is an investment in your lifelong knowledge about weight lifting and proper form. In two months, here are just a few of my concrete wins: 1) going from 30 lb dumbbell squats to 55, 2) going from a 50 lb chest press to 80, 3) doing multiple pushup sets comfortably. I could go on — in general, my core is stronger and I can lift with the confidence that I didn’t have before, especially toward the aim of avoiding injuries and knee pain.
And importantly, it is fun!!! The trainers are the best — I worked most with Cliff and Kiesha and had a blast during each session. Going here was often the highlight of my day.
If you are hesitant, the last thing I’ll add is that all types of folks are working out in this gym. Some have been weightlifting for a long time, others are brand new, returning to training postpartum, etc. I was impressed by this and the customization of training plans for each person.“

343 W Erie St #100, Chicago“I am so happy I chose Lift River North. There's always tons of parking and the facilities are great. The staff is terrific, everyone knows my name and it's just a fun and friendly environment overall. My trainer, Ali is the best. Highly recommend. She knows her stuff and continually adapts the work outs so that it never gets old. My sessions are 45 min and I always get a great work out. I've increased my strength considerably in a short amount of time because of the plans she puts together for me. HIGHLY recommend. :)“

“I've been training with Sarah at DMSFit for over five years (yes, this review is long overdue!), and I can't recommend her, and the entire team, enough! From day one, Sarah has helped me gain and maintain confidence in both my strength and my appearance. She meets me exactly where I'm at in every session. If I’m tired, she eases me in until I’m ready to push harder. If my shoulder is acting up, she’ll massage it until I can lift comfortably. And on the days when my motivation is low, she reminds me why showing up matters.
As much as I love Sarah and the DMSFit team, there are still days when working out feels like the last thing I want to do, but every time I push through, I leave feeling 100x better. If you’re looking for a supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging trainer, look no further than Sarah and the team at DMSFit!“

944 W Madison St, Chicago“I’ve been a member here for three years. Basecamp is a whole vibe. It’s by far, the BEST community centric, wellness focused, fitness program EVER. The program format (one minute on the bike, one minute on the floor) is effective, the dark club like ambience is cool and allows me to focus, BUT the factor that makes a difference is the PEOPLE - Dana, Alona, Abby, and many others. They are true LEADERS, they are warm, focused, beyond competent at their craft, and super supportive. They are Wonderful humans any community would be lucky to have. They have built this community from ground up and I cannot thank my friend who introduced me to it three years ago enough. Choose Basecamp, you choose to be supported (at your own pace) and you choose to support others.“
“This gym is great. It’s smaller with a more intimate and modern feel on the inside that definitely tries to cater to the people living in the city. Was the $40 day pass a little expensive? Yes. However, true gym goers only buy day passes when they need to pay for the convenience of being able to still get in a lift when they can’t go to their own gym. This gym was great for me because I could walk 15 minutes from where I work and it was significantly closer than any other gyms in the areas. It’s a smaller space but there’s PLENTY of equipment to hit your essential lifts. It’s downtown Chicago, so don’t expect the size of an LA or Lifetime.
This is just a PSA for anyone looking to use the showers. The one on the left (if facing both showers) did take quite a few minutes for the water to get hot. Multiple factors could have played into this and I ended up just sticking it out and taking a cold shower due to time constraints. It DID get hot eventually. Overall, this did not impact my experience at MODE whatsoever. I would go again if I needed to and would recommend this location to anyone who needed a quick lift if they were in the area.“
“I first started going to Wattage to rehab a shoulder dislocation, the process of which was so effective that now I couldn’t tell you which shoulder I injured. Alongside that swift recovery process, I underwent muscle coordination training to prevent future injuries, and have since moved on to practical strength training. Because of the dedicated programming and care I’ve received from Kelsie at Wattage, I’ve become a stronger and more injury resistant athlete, allowing me to pursue more physical endeavors and goals than I previously believed possible for myself. As for the location itself, the staff is incredibly friendly, the equipment is high quality and clean, and the amenities are plentiful. I cannot recommend this place enough!“

1747 N Elston Ave, Chicago“I joined edge 2 years ago, I wanted to start a healthier life style which meant taking a chance on myself. the minute I walked into edge I felt so welcomed and I'm one who doesnt like to try new places because I get intimidated fast. not the case here, since joining I have made long lasting friendships and have discovered a new side I didn't know I had. Not only did I ran my first 50k but now I'm training for my first 70.3 triathlon. Everyone is so Inspiring that it's hard not wanting to try it yourself. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for edge and I am so thankful for everyone. If you ever questioned stepping inside let me tell you this is your sign because you will not regret it.“

4536 N Clark St, Chicago“Working with Mike was proof that training smarter really pays off. As a surfer living in Chicago (who likes to surf the heavy stuff), I don’t get in the water as often as I did when I lived in California. Although the workouts didn’t seem terribly difficult or complex on the surface, the first trip I took, I was able to surf 5 hrs a day for a week straight at one of the more challenging breaks I travel to (fast currents, big beach break barrels) without even breaking a sweat. Even when I surfed 5 times a week, I couldn’t do that. Thanks again y’all!“
