“Incredible find! I dropped in while on a work trip to one of their BJJ open mats and had a blast. Incredibly welcoming environment with coaches that really know their stuff. Don't miss this if you're in Chicago!“
“I recently attended the three hour self-defence course as a team outing with our group of pediatric therapists who are out in the community often. This was an incredible team building opportunity! The team also learned numerous strategies to deescalate a situation and keep ourselves safe. Aileeen and Marti were a superb blend of serious, thoughtful and lighthearted. The time went by extremely quickly. I am thankful to have walked away with more tools in my pocket to be alert and safe. I think this will be an annual team outing. Highly recommended!“
“(indepth review)Feeling desperate to lose weight and gain discipline, a friend of mine recommended this place. The trainers were nice enough to let me try one class for free to get a feel of things. After the class I was absolutely dead. I was tired. Exhausted. Some muscles that I didn't know I had were burning. This is a good thing. I haven't felt like this for years. Immediately I signed up for 2 years. It is difficult, yes. You will be exhausted. You will be taken out of your comfort zone. You will work muscles that you didn't think existed but I guarantee that you will feel alive and will come back for more. When you sign up you will be given two uniform shirts and a pair of boxing gloves for free. Think of this place like a streaming service. You pay a subscription and you get access to a bunch of movies and tv shows (in this case classes). You can do Boxing, kickboxing, etc etc. There are more advanced classes that you need to be approved to attend. These will have a red font. A blue font is for kids. A black font is for teens and adults.Class may go something like this:The first 10ish minutes is jogging, stretches, push ups, etc.You get a 1 minute transition period to drink some water (BRING WATER) and your gloves. You'll train, usually in pairs. This means you actually have to go up to someone and ask "Hey want to be partners?" Then after class you may do some stretches and then the fun is over.I can really feel like I am progressing and getting stronger. I have more confidence and self control. So is it worth it? Absolutely. Will it push you to your limits? Yes.edit: I still come here. Best decision I've ever made in my life. I am much more flexible than before.“
“Sensei Weiss is so nice, funny as hell, and a great instructor to our two daughters. We like the classes and our kids are learning about themselves and what they are capable of. Thank you Sensei!“
“I decided to go to this gym because it was right in the heart of Chicago. It’s never too crowded, and the owners/ trainers have a wealth of experience and stories to tell. It may not house the next lineal champion of the world (yet), but it’s the best place to learn a thing or two about boxing fundamentals and history. Support local businesses!“
“At the moment I like the way that teacher Pedro Cardenas teaches, it seems that he is a psychologically and physically prepared person, he has a lot of respect for his students, now the lady who is in charge of collecting and I don't know what else lacks a lot of knowledge so re education of human relations, she does not have a professional way of telling you things, they do not explain anything to you and all the time she is the one who is right, it is good that she is not a teacher otherwise she would have already taken my daughter out of here.“
“My daughter has been going here for over 3 years. She loves her class and her instructor. Master So is great with her.“
“Frank is an exceptional instructor who takes the time to understand each child's physical and mental abilities. He teaches the fundamentals of Martial Arts, as well as the importance of respect and discipline, which are equally important. The facility is well-managed, and the customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this place.“
“Best decision I ever made and could not be happier with this jiu jitsu gym. The professors and coaches couldn’t be more helpful and engaging and without a doubt, are the best around. I’ve built some great friendships in my 2.5 years there as well. If you’re considering doing jiu jitsu, even if you don’t live in the general area, this gym is absolutely worth joining. There are a bunch of class options as well making this place very easy to fit into the busiest schedule.“
“I had the chance to train in Logan square Aikido while visiting Chicago. It was a very good experience, nice people, very good teachers, clear explanations, intense physical training, discipline, and a clean and comfortable location. If you want to start or train Aikidō in Chicago this dojo is the place.“
“Outside of the awesome instruction, super professional and does not feel like a second hand experience. I love the discipline my daughter is learning and she really enjoys class. The facility is always clean. Ample parking across the street on the commuter lot.“
“Honestly I recommend this place for anyone. My little guy is part of family since kindergarten , yes it’s part of family because you feel how others care for you here!!! The sensei Marek is very kind, genuine and shows how much jiu jitsu can positively impact a person if they simply decide to step on the mats. Try a class, you won't regret it and it just might change your life for the better.“
“Sifu Willis is an overall great teacher and very knowledgeable to the Wingtsun art. I had a great first day and looking forward to being part of the Wingtsun Family very soon!!!“
“Great beginning for all ages who are interested in Martial Arts! I can see my improvement in the last 5 months I've been going.“
“Honestly m, Oscar Bravo is an amazing professional trainer, I used to train with him 17 years ago and was the most amazing training skills I got from him, highly recommended.“
“Have been a student for over 20 years. Chief instructor is an excellent role model for the youths that attend.“

“I've been studying and training at the DBJ dojo for nearly two years and it's been one of the best combat experiences! This is coming from a 4 year wrestler who also has nearly 2 years of boxing (training only), minor Judo trianing in Cameroon, and a handful of months at a Gracie Academy. Not only does the dojo uphold its set principles and values, but it also pushes its students to do the same. Strikes are taught off the rip because they're woven into the curriculum; and by extension, your technique. Under Grandmaster Starks, if you take it seriously, you'll become a legit student under the Gyawn Atiko Jujutsu system-a more traditional style of Jujutsu. Belts aren't given; we're students, hence the set tests we take to earn our promotions. In addition to the mats, full boxing ring, and MMA cage, the DBJ dojo fully embraces a healthy fight culture while creating the next generation of strong and dedicated warriors. While I could go on and on, I'll end by saying you just have to come try it for yourself! Here is a short clip of how it be!https://youtu.be/bzI6Z7X4t3A?feature=shared“
“Very pleased with the accommodations in the room once everything was set up! I couldn’t ask for better coordination assistance than that provided by Barbara Martin! She’s the 5 star!!
Looking forward to working with her again soon’“
“My daughter entered Taekwondo and it was a great experience for me, my daughter liked it a lot and says that it is a very nice experience, and thanks to her teacher she is fulfilling her dreams.“
“Excellent place ! My kids love it and learning a lot ! Both teachers are amazing! Highly recommend“
“Fantastic atmosphere and quality instruction. Facility is clean and well maintained. Great experiences here!“
“The members and employees rock. Everyone is nice, encouraging and welcoming. I love working out here.“
“Dino has been my coach and mentor for 20 years. You'll never find a coach who cares and will immerse himself into your existence like Dino will. He desires to transform you into what you could be. Whatever the cost for that is? It's worth it.“
