7801 Bolsa Ave, Westminster“Peek Funeral fell short on some major areas, which I outline below. But because it also fulfilled key aspects of planning a Vietnamese funeral in a non-flakey, mostly compassionate, and earnest manner, I steer toward 4 stars rather than 3 stars, and outline serious feedback I hope they think about improving on. I sincerely hope that operations, professionalism, and customer service improve so that this entity can be even better, as it plays host to a key Vietnamese immigrant population of the entire world outside of Vietnam.(+) Well-versed in Vietnamese Buddhist traditions for planning a ceremony. Worked well with the temple monks we worked with for prayers during the service. Provided us with the starting point/outline of the day-of service schedule. But then it fell on the monks to fill our day and give us a special memorial just like the ones in Vietnam - so the credit really goes to our temple's monks rather than Peek Funeral for the programming body and content.(+) Respectful of the deceased's body during the services/viewing and during the burial. Very much appreciated.(+) Followed all directions for dressing the body - hair and clothes.(+) Coordination of and communications to transport the body after passing was timely, smooth, professional, and respectful. All the business-as-usual paperwork given to family was done in a very compassionate way. Timely setup of appointment to begin funeral planning the day immediately after passing. Again, done in a very compassionate and flexible manner. Much appreciated.(-) Expected more guidance during the day-of funeral, including letting the family and guests know where to go, transitioning from viewing to procession to the burial plot. This was something the staff said they would be doing (some sense of directing), so our family entrusted them in this, but on the day of, there was little initiative. Had we known we'd need some type of orchestrator / MC for the entire day, we would have looked for and hired someone to help rather than defaulting this on the grieving family members who would have rather just take in the ceremonies without the need to balance logistics and direction-giving. Especially for staff who see these ceremonies over and over again, versus a family going through their first loss.(-) Family must proactively and ask often, prior to the funeral, for details about the day-of funeral details, e.g., how many pallbearers, which procession items to carry (fruit, candles, flowers, etc.), what the lineup even looks like (they have a PDF handout they can send if you ask). Otherwise, it would have been a cold run on the day-of without any direction from staff (see above point). You have to run a rehearsal in your mind before the actual funeral, and think of questions and ask them, so you clarify everything, or else the day-of is going to be a complete dry-run. If there is no staff support on the day-of, that's fine, but clarify that with clients and do not make false promises about staff support when planning the funeral with them.(-) Used car salesman-like tactics, language, and stress creation to sell tombstone during the day immediately after passing, and the following weeks, was very much not appreciated, especially during biggest moments of stress right after a passing. All other sales / paperwork (burial internment rights, services, casket) were fine - communicated in a steady, compassionate way. But the staff member dealing with tombstone (post-burial) was just not the best and we avoided communications with him due to the unneeded stress it created.(-) Staff completely dropped the ball on reporting the death to SSA, despite numerous assurances that this had been done. Had I not checked the work and called SSA myself to verify, I would not have discovered this. If this service is not offered, that's fine, but don't say it's done when it's not.“

He was so kind and helpful. He handled all of the Hospital paperwork and kept us well informed. Jose handled everything! After the Cremation was final, he shipped ashes to my house. He handled an excruciatingly painful time for our family and handled it with such gentleness and compassion. I highly recommend them. Besides be so kind and helpful they were very reasonably priced.“

7651 Commonwealth Ave, Buena Park“I would give Sunnyside Mortuary and Cremation 10 star if I could. This was my first time having to arrange a View Cremation for my wonderful Mother. I first met with Charles. He got me set up with the services I wanted. Then I was introduced to Johnathan. Johnathan was my point man on everything that was going to be happening the rest of the way. Thank you Johnathan for your kindness and professionalism. Sunnyside did infact take care of everything from the moment my mother passed away, until the time of her View Cremation. At this time Johnathan and Juan led the way preparing me and my family for the viewing and Cremation process. My mother was dressed and had her make up done. "She looked Great" The two provided Red Roses to send with her body. "Her Favorite flower" by the way. Nice little touch. My family is very grateful for Sunnyside Mortuary Services. We recommend them to everyone. Once again thank you Johnathan and Juan for the wonderful final experience you provided my family.
Best Regards,
Jason I.“

12301 Magnolia St, Garden Grove“As a medical practitioner who has run a spine hospital in Garden Grove Koreatown for over 30 years, I take care of many patients, especially those over 80 years old.
There were quite a few elderly patients whose fates changed while they were receiving treatment, and as someone who was taking care of their elderly parents, I had a lot to think about and think about.
I've been worried.
In the end, my father passed away in February of this year, and my mother also passed away in early August.
Although we had expected it, we were completely shocked and lost as our parents suffered the loss before we were ready. I was introduced to Sunnyside Funeral Home and went there without knowing anything.
After finishing the consultation, my wife and I felt really at ease and reassured.
The things that a funeral director will do to help a family who has suffered a sudden loss will be similar everywhere. In terms of procedures...
What is important is the mindset and sincerity of those helping with the funeral, as well as the sympathy with which they share the sadness.
Charles, who helped us during my father's time.
Isaiah, who helped us during my mother’s time.
I am truly grateful to both of you and thank you again.
These people have a clear professional view on their profession and are people who shared and comforted the sorrow and grief of those who were injured as much as their families.
As I go through my parents' funeral, I highly recommend this service to my friends and patients.
If you make sure to register at Sunnyside Funeral Home, seniors who are leaving on a long journey will be able to leave with peace of mind...
Once again, I would like to thank the two people who gave all their sincerity and effort to our parents’ funeral!!“

From the initial phone call and the planning meeting with Linda, everything was perfectly arranged. Scott was so wonderful during the open viewing, church and burial. They made it possible to honor Mom perfectly. We had an open casket and the makeup team did a beautiful job. My precious god son was killed by his girlfriend and I didn't know how I was going to get through making arrangements and ensuring my brother and sister in law would have a beautiful service for their son. Justin went above and beyond for us. He was always kind and gentle with his words. He was very helpful in every way possible. He worked with me no matter if he was on the clock or not. I don't know how it would have turned out otherwise. I will forever be grateful to Justin and Sunset Funeral. Trust me, I am one of the most critical and pivotal people and I couldn't have asked for more. It is worth driving a little further to come here. Everyone showed up and we had a wonderful turnout. Thank you again for all your hard work and support to everyone at Sunset !“

I can’t remember all the team members that I spoke with on the phone and in person but every single member understood our needs and were very informative of the services that we were looking for, and it was a great transition as this process was already hard enough it was a very great transition to help put my grandpa to rest. 1020 Fuller St, Santa Ana“Marcera Crematory is located in a light industry neighborhood. With nearly no parking. I managed to find 1 open spot, 3 doors down, had to parallel park between 2 parked cars.
The Crematory has very limited signage, drove by it twice. Ring the doorbell for assess. I was there for the pickup of my adult Daughters remains. I only interacted with 2 employs, both were friendly and helpful.
At my request, they even transferred the remains from the urn that we originally ordered to the urn my wife had chosen later, that I had brought with me. If the need should arise, I would use their services again. But then, I am an industrial type person and am comfortable in an industrial environment. More white collar type persons may be put out by the industrial environment.“

They were kind, compassionate, and understanding. They followed through on everything they said they were going to do, and in a timely manner. They helped make the process seamless and smooth. I highly recommend their services.“
“Susie and Dave were comforting, knowledgeable, kind, caring and responsive. This was the first time I have had to navigate end of life affairs and it was for my grandfather who requested be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery. They made all the arrangements for his burial and the service went flawlessly. From the first phone call made a few days before his passing, to the transporters who came at 2am, to the thoughtful texts and letters sent after his service, this duo's experience and care shows. I would recommend and will recommend if the opportunity presents.“

Karen was amazing and coordinated everything I needed, including sourcing some custom items that were difficult to find. It really comforted me and other family members to know that one of my best friends would be laid to rest in exactly how she wanted. Karen was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. Her team helped me to decide on some of the details that I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own. Overall, I was very happy with the results and I will be recommending Generations to all my friends and relatives.“
