“My attempt to work directly with Tesla for a Power Wall 3 was a failure. They did do a site audit and proposed a system. That proposal did not reflect what I wanted. And, they would not have any dialog with me about how the system would work. Finally after several request they did answer some of my written questions. At my request this project was aborted.

While searching on YouTube for Power Wall 3 installation videos, I saw one from Dave Pollock and his company SolHome. The video demonstrated the installation of the Power Wall and the Tesla Backup Switch. That’s what I wanted so I called Dave and that started the project.

Dave did a site inspection and I learned some important points the Tesla never mentioned. The project began within a few days and took several weeks to get the required city building permits. Once the permits were released it only took a few days to schedule installation. The installation took about a day and a half. The city inspection was scheduled and passed. From installation start to passing inspection was a total of four days.

Things electrical are very interesting to me so I watched the installation crew work. The three man crew was very knowledgeable and worked very well together. They answered all my questions, even questions about the electrical code. The crew was helpful and they worked diligently. All work was neat and the work area was always cleaned up when they left for the day.

Our solar system was pre-existing and they made all the required updates to that system so it was up to date with the national electrical code.

“Our 21 yo gas wall heater in our accessory unit in Encinitas would only turn on intermittently for many years, needing to be kicked to respond. We had a different repairman come out to “fix” it 5 years ago, but when we called him back within the week because it still wasn’t fixed, he charged us again to come out and still didn’t really fix it. We went ahead and replaced the thermostat ourselves which seemed to help. That left us not trusting his competency, so when it flat out wouldn’t start at all this season, we searched for someone who would be more competent (and available.)In making calls around (based on google and yelp reviews), I quickly learned that most of the bigger companies weren’t interested in my little wall furnace (everything has shifted to HVAC over the years), and likely many of their service people would not have the experience working on an older wall furnace.Then I found Jim’s A/C and Heating. I liked the fact that it is a small company and Jim himself does most of the work, who has been in business for many decades. Nothing takes the place of experience. I called and left a message about the problem and Jim himself called me back later that same day and was able to come out to evaluate the problem the next day. Well, not only did he methodically and patiently go through a thorough evaluation, he was able to replace a needed part (fortunately, he actually had this part in his truck, which had been there for years…it’s an old furnace!), and also checked out anything else that could be the problem. Presto! It’s now responsive and working well. He also let us know that if it fails anytime over the next 30 days that we would not be charged another service fee to come out again.Jim told me that one of his very first jobs was repairing Sears wall heaters. It’s obvious that he really knows what he’s doing! Not only that, he is kind, friendly, incredibly patient and charges very reasonably. He also didn’t try to upsell me, pointing out that the heater body is still solid and should last a lifetime. What a good and ethical man! We are grateful to have found him, and he will now be our go-to guy for any heater or HVAC problems!“

I called Michael Fryman Refrigeration of Ramona , CA and spoke with the owner, Michael ,who made everything clear. Not only did he take his time trying to help me with the diagnosis, he helped me to realize I had already wasted $500 on incorrect diagnoses. SO he recommended a new approach and saved me at least another $1000 on further loss. “Been there in the pass but only for OEM parts. When in back there last month. They have a new manager and new old counter guy came back. Talked to manager and he has bought in a whole lot on aftermarket parts and more grill sizes and metal. Them counter guys Jake and Paul are great and helpful. “I LOVE my new windows! The whole team from Energy Core Construction was great! I was dubious about the reduction of street noise that was promised, but I can now 100% say that the new windows have made a vast improvement on the street noise and I live on a very busy, non-stop, all day trafficked street.
