“Working with Serri and George was a dream! When I began searching for a San Diego realtor to sell my late father's home in Oceanside, I came across Serri and the Brand Realty Team. Serri was the third agent I interviewed, and I knew instantly that I wanted to work with her. Her communication style was spot on--honest, direct, and never pushy or salesy. After chatting with her, we had a listing appointment with George, Serri's business partner. After spending some time with him, we realized he was equally as great as Serri, and we signed the listing agreement. They were amazing at strategizing when to list the house and what price to list it for (was around a holiday). George had recommendations for minor cosmetic improvements we could make to the property before listing. He never tried to upsell me and even project managed everything we needed to get done before going live on the MLS, as I am not local to San Diego. The entire process could not have been smoother. We signed the listing agreement with them on a Wednesday, went live on the MLS the following Thursday, and accepted an offer the next Tuesday with a 10-day escrow close. We got $55k above asking, and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the outcome. “We recently completed the sale of our business after 13 years of hard work building it, and at the beginning of the process we met with the folks at California Business Advisors and were very impressed with their professionalism, experience, and the very thorough research that was done even before a contract discussion and potential costs were presented.We were talked out of using CBA's services by several parties involved in the deal who felt money could be saved by using only our own lawyers and accountants to manage the deal. Now that we have completed the process, we really wish we had utilized their services. Instead of the sale process taking 2-3 months as it should have taken, it took over 9 months. The cost difference between DIY and the process being handled by experienced professionals is minimal and frankly, not worth it.There were several occasions where poor communication from the buyer's lender and his lawyer caused costly delays and two times we were within a couple of days of closing (and all the payroll, HR, insurance, accounting and contract arrangements having been made) when we found out that the closing date had to be pushed back. We essentially had to repeat the sale process three times to get it done right.This was extremely costly both in time and cash. The frustration with the process took a toll on all of us and was unnecessary.Hindsight is 20/20 as they say, but if we were to do this over again, I would insist on using California Business Advisors to facilitate and manage the process.“
