I've had a reverse osmosis drinking water I got from Clean Water Store in 2011, and now 13 years later, it needed a new tank, and I figured why not change the filter cartridges too while I'm at it. The staff were super helpful figuring out what I needed to order, the parts were all in stock, I went down and picked them up and it was like a 5-minute operation to change out all those components on my system - and I didn't even need any tools! Quality products, wonderful staff, and fast turn-around. Five stars!
I cannot even begin to express how amazing Reggie and his team at Local Shot are! Over the years we have used multiple real estate photographers and could never find just the right fit. Dr. Sellars has been amazing. She is newer to the practice and made a huge difference in my hormone levels. I have gone in for Myers IV and seen great improvements in my energy. I love the Nook! As a queer person I was having problems finding a place that is reasonably priced, nearby, listens to ‘no I really do want every color under the sun’, and knows Asian hair. I was told about the Nook when I was lamenting the fact that I was looking for an inclusive spot that fit the bill. I called and was matched with Myra. She is absolutely amazing. In addition to being amazing at styling, cutting (and a host in general), she was the first where the bleach didn’t end up giving me a dry scalp for a few days. Months later (need to go back soon!) I am still getting compliments on the color (I don’t mean 2 months, I mean I have been lazy and haven’t been in 6+ months)

Ming did my wedding hair and makeup and I can't recommend her highly enough. I do not wear a lot of makeup and had very little direction for her, and she did an awesome job talking me through the options until we ended up with a look that I loved. My hair and makeup looked great all night, especially the airbrush makeup which stayed put even though my skin is oily. Ming is very professional and kind and made the whole process easy and fun.
top-notch salon especially for color treatment and fancy kind of hairstyles. Great place to go if you're putting on make up for a TV show or a costume party or Halloween or whatever prices are competitive for downtown Santa Cruz. Best of all they have DJs on Friday nights, and the place turns into a bit of a party. Plenty of local artists show their work and they have fashion shows coming up.

This salon is adorable. These ladies really work miracles. The expertise in color is amazing. I took my co-worker/friend as a birthday gift for her color which was over grown and increasingly gray boxed dyed hair. She was very nervous since she knew it wasn’t going to be a simple job. They added perfect matched hi/low lights to blend her existing color with the new growth and made it so her growing grey isn’t so shocking. Truly transformed her hair and self confidence! It was nice to see how they work as a team together and willing to share/teach techniques in the process.

Hair type: My hair is difficult. Individual strands are FINE, not coarse, but THICK, & heavy, therefore it doesn't want to hold a curl. And, in addition it is curly, wavy, AND straight....all mixed together.

Ramona and the gang are one of the gems of the county. They're authentic barbers who love the lore and history of the profession. I take my 13 year old son when we have an opening in our busy schedule and it never feels like a chore. It's an experience that we plan on repeating year after year.
Walked in on a Friday afternoon for a buzz cut. Anthony was just finishing up a haircut when I arrived and when his client was finished he squeezed me in before his next client showed up. I only waited 2 or 3 minutes. Anthony did a great job on my hair and was super cool to talk to. The barber shop is super stylish as well and clean. I will definitely be back.

This was my first time for a pedicure at Diamond Nails. I made an appointment, but had to wait 10 minutes before they opened up. I also did not think to ask what the charge was. Alice was very nice and very chatty. The pedicure was fine, but I was surprised that she did not do any work on my cuticles or remove any dead skin. I also received no leg massage. Basically just a nail trim, and polish. It took less than 30 minutes to complete. Needless to say, I was taken aback when she told me it was $55 dollars (not including the tip)! I personally will not go back because I thought the charge was excessive for the services provided.

So many nights I'd sit by my window Waiting for someone to cut curly hair So many dreams I kept deep inside me Alone in the dark now you've come along "GINGER" you highlight my Life And give me hope to carry on You tame my frizz and give my curls life! I don't think I could ever move away from Ginger the Gem! If I do, I will make sure I can afford a flight back every 2 months for my healthy highlight and cut. I'm 55 and hated my curls most of my life until finding someone who knew how to make them beautiful. The only reason I wouldn't recommend Ginger would be out of selfishness to keep her already busy schedule more open for me - but that's not how I roll. . .

I have seen Michelle many times over the course of a couple years. Most recently I got facials from her once a week for a couple months in light of a hormonal acne flare up. In those couple months my skin made so much more progress than it did from going to a dermatologist and using antibiotics and prescribed topicals. I stopped using those products and started using Michelles products that she makes herself. Her services, products and advice have led me to have clean skin in such a short amount of time, I am extremely grateful! This was my first facial at this location. Due to covid I had not had a facial in 13 months and my skin showed it. Kathleen gave me an outstanding facial. She was thorough and I was impressed with the product line she uses. What was a wonderful plus was the massage to my feet and the having my hands treated with a rich cream and put into heated gloves. Kathleen was so professional and pleasant. She knows skin care well and answered any questions I had regarding products. The ambience here was lovely and very relaxing. My skin glowed after my facial! I will be a regular customer.

My husband and I booked the Gemini package a month in advance, slots fill up quickly! We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna for a hour and we each got a 50 minute massage! Beverly really did well with my massage, I was so relaxed I even fell asleep which is great and my husband said he fell asleep too which means he was relaxed, we both left feeling revived & rejuvenated, would recommend for anyone, it's a nice little getaway. Definitely zen feels and it comes with tea that you can change during your spa time. Parking is either on the street or lot next to the spa!

Aaron is the best, he has done almost all of my tattoos and has fixed a couple of old ones. His lines are thin so when the tattoo gets old won't loose the shape and they won't disappear either. He will design your tattoo show it to you and give you suggestions about sizes and colors. His shop looks clean and has the right vibes
I recently got my first tattoo a stunning atlas moth and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, everything was beyond amazing. My artist, Butter, made the process so comfortable and enjoyable. Not only is Butter incredibly talented, but they're also super chill, which made the whole experience even more comfortable! I'm thrilled with how the tattoo turned out, and I can't recommend Butter enough for anyone considering getting inked!

I had a problem with drain flies in my bathroom, and after having an exterminator come out twice with no luck I called eco flow. Jose came out and searched under the house, and ended up having to replace the toilet due to it being old and the insects coming through the cracks. He communicated details, was thorough with his replacement, and left the space cleaner than when he arrived. I trusted that I was in good hands, and would recommend his work to anyone! We had an electrical emergency on a Friday at 4pm. I called Pleasure Point Electric out of the blue based on reviews here. David took the call and after I explained the circumstances, assured me he would take care of the matter immediately by calling PG&E and sending Carlos out to investigate the issue. It would have been very easy after a long week to let the late Friday afternoon call go to voicemail and handle it on Monday, leaving us to worry about the issue all weekend.Carlos arrived within 15 minutes, investigated the issue, ensured everything was safe, and referred the matter to David, who provided a quote on Monday to replace the entire electrical panel and obtain all permits on our behalf. He reassured us that all would be fine. Once the permits were secured, the Pleasure Point Electric team arrived, installed the new panel, coordinated with PG&E to restore power, and obtained the City permit with no issues. This company is a fine example of a local business that operates professionally with honesty, integrity, and fair pricing. The work was spot on and David and his team were very professional and personable. We are grateful to have found Pleasure Point Electric and highly recommend them.

Responsive - I left a message for Alpha Omega Electric and within 5 minutes I had a person return my call and set up an appointment for that afternoon. Louis arrived on time and assessed what was needed, made very helpful suggestions for ways to move an existing outlet to another place. He was knowledgeable and efficient with his time. Min charge is $250 per hr for labor.

Nothing short of miraculous. I've never had anything but wonderful results here. We have a large dog who "helps" a lot with gophers, so our main rug gets a lot of muddy paw traffic despite our best efforts. After cleaning, our rug looks better than the day we bought it - I couldn't be more impressed, and won't bring my rugs anywhere else. Photos are before and after cleaning!

Employee came out after having to reschedule cuz he was busy on another job but that was ok. He looked at my situation which was just a porch that had evidence of termites. I found it interesting that just to do the job would cost more than doing the job plus the 1 year warranty so I went with the latter. I do recommend the business and please ask about the service with warranty cuz he may not mention that initially.

Despite having to find out that my previous dentist caused me to have fistula abscess that requires a referral to an endodontist, my experience at Landmark Dental Group was WONDERFUL! OMG! I came to this dentist because I was having excruciating dental pain due to a crown that had not been shaped properly at my former provider. I was literally BAWLING the night before and needed to go to ER because of how bad the pain was.I called Five Gables the next morning, and by a stroke of luck, they squeezed me in same-day. They reshaped the crown for me, and I kid you not, I feel SO MUCH BETTER AFTER 3 DAYS! I'm so mad I didn't come here sooner! I dont wanna unalive myself anymore! They're the nicest people I've met since moving to Santa Cruz a few months ago. I’ve been battling long COVID for over a year now. I’ve been in and out of bed rest for almost 10 months. After countless doctors visits, meetings with a handful of different specialists, little to no answers were found. It wasn’t until I found Dr. Stokes, that I truly understood what was at the core of my issues. My first visit with Dr. Stokes included x rays of my spine and lower back. The results showed some pretty serious instability in my upper and lower spine from years as a professional athlete, that was compounded by COVID. Dr. Stokes was so thorough (spent an extra hour with me) in helping me understand how my spine misalignment was impacting so many other areas of my body. I’ve had 3 adjustments with Dr. Stokes so far, and it’s been life changing. I went from not knowing if I’d ever be able to get off a couch from severe pain and fatigue, to being able to take walks with my dog around the neighborhood. My 80+ year-old Dad's life has been changed by Dr. Chris' regime of physical therapy and home exercises.
Over the past fifty years, Dad has had other Physical Therapists but none that resulted in him following through with the home exercises.
Discussing this as a family, we think it is partly because Dr Chris sent him home with adult-type exercises involving apparatuses used for resistance and body weight exercises at his office sessions. The other piece is that he greatly enjoys how Dr. Chris works out with him.
Dr. Chris gave him a pulley system that hooked to a closed door and two types of bands. These are Dad's to keep.
Also included is a website login that Dad uses to log his reps. The site shows videos of all the exercises he has been assigned to do that week.
Everyone at the office has been warm, kind, and upbeat. My parents love the vibe.

I’m feeling amazing after my first appointment with Dr. Tom Smith! I had been seeing another chiropractor in Capitola for cervical reverse lordosis and scoliosis, but the appointments felt rushed, and I was actually feeling worse after each visit. That’s when I decided to get a second opinion and met Dr. Tom Smith, who, to my surprise, turned out to be my childhood chiropractor!
Dr. Smith took his time with my evaluation, carefully explaining my X-rays and reassuring me that my scoliosis is extremely slight and my spine looks healthy. He didn’t think I needed any adjustments at all! Instead, he prescribed a couple of exercises to strengthen my posture, especially in my neck and shoulder muscles, and suggested I gradually work into lifting weights. No follow-up appointments needed!

I've been attending level 1-2 classes with Maya Lev at the Yoga Center for the past year. Classes currently take place at the Vet's Hall in a spacious warm room with high ceilings and a quintessential Santa Cruz vibe overlooking Front St. Maya is a gem and a master teacher and I am so glad to discover her. Here's what I love about Maya: She has a deep knowledge and embodied understanding of Iyengar Yoga, anatomy, and human movement that consistently comes forth in her teaching. Each class is artfully crafted, with a progressive flow that ends with the whole body feeling completely stretched, worked out, lengthened, and strengthened. Maya has an exquisite verbal teaching style that allows students to move from one asana to another with clarity and precision about what to do, pay attention to, and feel. Students can drop deeply into their own bodily experience and are not required to frequently stop their practice to watch or copy a teacher. When she does demonstrate, which is not even in every class, it's to show specific details about a pose to help students understand how to refine their approach, and it's always very useful, like an "aha." Maya seamlessly instructs both students in the room and on Zoom in a hybrid way that truly works - with dual attention to each population that does not distract from the other. She teaches both groups while moving around the room making hands-on adjustments that give gentle yet clear and firm guidance. What an art! Maya always brings a meditative spiritual quality to each class, and she's down-to-earth and funny too - a great combination! As a Feldenkrais Method® movement teacher of 30 years and a person with many previous injuries and limitations who needs a really good teacher, I truly appreciate and feel safe with the master level of Maya's teaching. I signed up for a weekly pass when I was visiting Santa Cruz last winter, it might be my new favorite yoga studio in the Bay Area. Spacious studio, teachers are wonderful and welcoming, class can be challenging depending on the level. Highly recommend anyone who's looking for a new studio to check out.
As a beginning yogi, I started taking weekly yin yoga classes at PPY in April of 2021 because I needed to do *something* for my health. I found the atmosphere here to be extremely welcoming and non-judgmental. My favorite thing is the emphasis on how I am feeling in my own body and/or how capable my own body is, without comparisons to how the other people in the class are doing or even how the instructor is performing the poses. The mood of the classes is very supportive. I have continued to take weekly yin classes with Magnolia and Katie, who are excellent, as well as taking occasional classes with Melissa, Tara and Gwen. The yin yoga (and the restorative or gentle yoga) classes are excellent for beginners and people looking for deep stretching and relaxation. I have noticed a difference since 2021. Highly recommend.

She also took care to get to know my husband's needs before starting and really worked out the knots caused by his sciatica. First time there and best massage ever. It's like she actually studied anatomy or something. My masseuese seemed well experienced. I got the full body massage and she actually treated my arms and legs too, not just spending the whole time on my back. I enjoyed having an alternative style with perfect pressure and she always checked if the pressure was too hard or not. Most importantly, she didn't shove her elbows into my spine, she massaged the muscles along my spine! The music was the essence of riverflow and I ended up dozing off. So worth! Looking forward to my next visit!! :D

Serina was/is all the way around legit! I have always wanted to try acupuncture but never felt I had a reason until my knee pain I had for weeks. I am not too big on taking pills at the same time. Being that I am on the road for at least 2.5 hrs a day, it was no wonder I had knee pain.
From arriving in her office to the assessment all the way to the moment of treatment. It was all lovely. The energy in the office is very peaceful and welcoming. The rooms keep the same energy with the music and lighting.
She asks you key questions before the treatment. In a way that she isn’t just concerned about your physical pain, but also inquiring about how you live life and what’s stressful in your life etc.
The placement of the needles, I can’t stress it enough, ABSOLUTELY no pain. She does it so effortlessly you could probably think that she didn’t place any of them to your body. She is very open to answering questions that pertain to her profession.
Overall, it only took 2 sessions to get me back to normal as if the pain never happened. Each session I left absolutely relaxed and a sense of calmness and revitalized. I even go back just to get a “restart, calmness” if you will.

I have been seeing Jordan for about 3 years, it is the best Accupuncture experience I’ve ever had! I am someone who is interested in health and already a believer in Chinese medicine - but Jordan has a particular approach that is very unique. I’m the beginning he was treating my neck pain after a serious car accident… but the appointments have evolved into overall health and general well being. It is impossible to overstate the love and gratitude I have for Kate. I am so glad I finally decided to try acupuncture to assist with fertility. And Kate soon became my first line of defense when I was feeling off through my pregnancy and postpartum. Kate is a miracle worker and has a down to earth approach for optimal health. ok, this woman is consistently exceeding my expectations. To be honest, I was skeptical when I first started acupuncture, I was hopeful but more doubtful. I live a pretty active lifestyle and am often nursing some kind of ache or pain, but somehow, when I get off Christina’s table I walk away feeling not only elevated energetically, but aches I didn’t even realize I was carrying have been released. She is also so invested in my wellbeing that when she leaves me on the table during treatment, she will often grab one of her books and come back in with some kind of recommendation on how to further support what I’m dealing with. Additionally, I’ve recommended her to friends who have let me know on multiple occasions how helpful their treatments with her have been. I feel so blessed to have found her - even my partner adores her and he’s never met her, that’s how much of a difference she makes in my life. She is humble, compassionate, and incredibly powerful. Whether you are looking for physical healing, emotional healing, or a general realignment and recentering, I cannot recommend Christina enough.

I highly recommend Tracy. In one treatment from her, my world was turned around - I went from fight or flight, where my body was beginning to fail me, to clear, calm, hopeful about life, symptoms I've been working with for weeks slowly dissipating, etc. I cannot praise Tracy enough.
