“Several years ago my partner and I discussed the idea of looking into some sort of forest type burial place where our ashes could be placed together. Later, when he became gravely ill, we decided to purchase a tree from Better Place Forests in their Litchfield Hills location. The decision to place our ashes in this spot was a rite of commitment to each other, a sacred symbol of our joining. After my partner passed, the Better Place Forests staff was very helpful in planning the ceremony that we wanted to have. It was indeed a beautiful ceremony, simple, quiet, and very moving. Sarah, the wonderful staff member who had helped us organize the event, had an important role in the ceremony, but she did not take center stage. It was our event, and extremely intimate. I recently came back to visit the tree, and the kindness and warmth we had experienced both in the planning and in the spreading event were still present and available to us. I am so grateful that we made this decision. The whole experience has been as perfect as it was meant to be. I feel now there is a very special place in the world, a very quiet, beautiful and sacred spot, a living symbol of our love. Hiking and being in the woods was one of our favorite things to do together. So returning to the trees and the forest seems the ideal choice for us. I do recommend Better Place Forests, and am grateful to them for their kindness and for offering the means to have such an inspirational experience.“

“Everyone was very courteous and professional at every turn. Phone staff were great, the gentlemen that came to take Mom away were great (they came ready to work at 11pm). Follow up was also very good along the way (we had a clerical issue to solve). Tulip did everything they were supposed to do, and they did it very professionally. My experience was very good and I have no reservations about recommending them. It's nice to deal with an outfit that has their act together from start to finish, especially when emotions are high due to the situation at hand. I very much recommend contacting them prior to your loved one's passing (if you are in a hospice situation). They provided a fair amount of 'check list items' so that you can be as prepared as possible for when the time comes. It would have been unnerving to deal with all those details the night of. My experience was very good- and if they treat you the way they treated me, you'll easily see the value they provide. Noteworthy to say they were about 40% less cost than their competition, and I did wonder if the service would reflect that... but I'm writing this review to let everyone know that the service was top notch. They have a good formula in place, and a very courteous approach during a difficult time. We hope to never need these services, but at some point we will, and I'm glad I was referred to Tulip from a friend of mine.“
