“My wife recently passed away, unexpectedly. Santos and Robinson has been her family's "historic" funeral home in San Leandro. The staff, especially but not only Lupita, were professional, easy-to-work with and kind. Everything is difficult and challenging during the preparation for a funeral. To plan and carry out the funeral of one's wife - my beloved of 30 years - was not easy. But Lupita and the staff at Santos and Robinson made it as easy as possible, and the vigil hosted at the home was beautiful and meaningful. Highly recommended.“

“Reaching out to a funeral home was the most difficult phone call I’ve ever had to make. Fortunately, I called the right place. A friend recommended Alameda after she used them for her husband. When my Mom was suddenly ill, I couldn’t handle much… and everything was happening so quickly.. But, during my first interaction, and throughout, Paul and the rest of the people at Alameda were kind, respectful and professional. They didn’t try to sell me anything, they didn’t keep me any longer than was absolutely necessary, they were aware of my inability to process difficult decisions. They got straight to the necessary details, only pausing when I needed them to…. They were just wonderful. A major bright spot in what was otherwise an intensely difficult time. I will always be grateful to them. Also, Don’t waste precious time on calling other places. This is the only place you need. I did call other places, and I wish I had just called Alameda first.I don’t think you have to make arrangements with them in advance. But, do chose your funeral home before things get too hectic or sad. You will want to know they’re there. Even if logically you know it’s coming, when it happens, you will NOT be in a position to go trolling the internet for a funeral home. So, call them in advance. They’ll walk you through some very important details. Knowing what to expect makes a world of difference during your time of need.“

“Being a local resident, I have attended several funeral related functions at Greer Mortuary. Whether it be a viewing, a vigil, prayers / the Rosary, or other, I alway knew that Greer would be the venue that most events would take place (other than church, synagogue, temple, or other place of worship). Families would choose Greer not just because of the reputation of the name, but because they have full service with attentive and knowledgeable staff, helpful from the whole process from planning and execution, to post mortem follow ups. That's why most people I know in the area, choose Greer Mortuary..... and then, it sadly was our turn to call upon Greer for their assistance when my father was called to the Lord.Christine was very helpful from the time we reached out, flexible, knowledgeable and just very pleasant during this difficult time. It was also a very "familiar" feeling working with her and her team, since we had so many friends and families use Greer Mortuary in the past, that she knew many of the same florists, church contacts, and related funeral related suppliers, and this made it easy for us as they are trusted. We all know the funeral business is just that, a business, however, Greer Mortuary made the whole process more personable, and really understood our needs and went out of their way to make it feel less than a business transaction and more really support and helping us celebrate the life of my father, in the best way possible, working with Greer Mortuary. They basically did A - Z for us... from the filing of paperwork with the State / County to be able to transport my father from the hospital to their mortuary facilities, to the preparation, the selection of either Caskets or Urns or whatever was needed, and even with getting us the required Death Certificates, etc.,....They did so much behind the scenes work that it allowed us to focus on the real matter, grieving for my father and tending to the many out of town guests who came to mourn the loss and also celebrate the great life my father lived. The grieving part is important as well as the planning for the funeral, and to be able to focus on the family is paramount and we are so grateful to Greer Mortuary for allowing us to focus on what we needed to, rather than the "transactional" side of it.I would definitely recommend Greer Mortuary to anyone who may need their services.Thank you!“

“Mia and the rest of the staff at the Grand Ave branch were super efficient and kind. I had some special needs, ash scattering permits and multiple edits on my loved one's obit. Mía got everything taken care of really fast, including multiple copies if death cert. She gave great advice and I trust her. The package my loved one bought was about $1700 I think and that covered everything. Do your loved ones a favor and set up Neptune Society, they are very professional and easy to contact. Also consider UCSF willed body program, it is free.“

“Never have I ever felt so alone and lost. During a time of grief, Paul (the owner) was amazing! He was so welcoming and comforting, not to mention so well cultured. Paul knew exactly what I needed for our traditional burial more than I did. That made a huge impression for me. He took care of our worries at our time of need and let our family focus on other things we needed to attend to. For that, I will forever be grateful!“

“Having lost a loved one and also having to take care of business and make arrangements takes a lot out of you. But I have to say how comfortable and smooth it was working with Jeanine. She was so patient and understanding, and super empathetic, really sweet. From the beginning, she explained how everything worked and what would be happening step by step with all possible options. The day of the services the additional staff was super helpful and welcoming as well. I feel bad forgetting his name, but I believe the gentleman was Joel, was really helpful with putting up our frame and some plants we had brought. He also helped coordinate the pallbearers and offered gloves for them. You guys are great, thank you for being available with excellent service at the toughest times of need.“

“Jay was extremely professional and helpful during a difficult time for our family. We used Deer Creek for my mom when she passed away in 2014, and the upmost care she received from Deer Creek staff was appreciated. My father wanted nobody else to handle his body when he recently passed. With COVID protocols, Jay came to our home to complete the paperwork and walked us through the entire process despite us already going through it back in 2014, so we appreciated the clear communication. Jay was present for our father’s services and made sure everything went according to plan. Thank you Jay and thank you Deer Creek staff.“

“Glad the plaque for our Mom was installed 3 months after ordering. I’m disappointed that the installer didn’t take an additional 5 - 10 minutes to spray the balance of the headstone so they matched rather than leaving it all dirty. I brought flowers for her birthday but assumed wrongly that the installer would have made the entire headstone look nice hence I didn’t bring any cleaning items with me. I’m disappointed.“

“The last several weeks have been quite difficult due to the loss of my husband. So much to deal with and so much paperwork, but because of the wonderful and caring help that Tom of Sorensen's Mortuary in Hayward gave me, I need to write a commendation for him. Tom is so knowledgable, patient, thoughtful, and gives excellent direction and advice. He listened to what I needed, and if he had important information to add, he did with great care. The outcome was that the arrangements could not have been better or more easy for me. Tom was truly outstanding in every respect, and by being so thorough and dedicated, he was quite a big help in getting through the sorrowful days. I could not have asked for a better person than Tom, and I am grateful to him for all he did and how he conducted himself throughout. My thanks to a very special man.“

“I used this funeral home to help me coordinate the burial of my wife. I worked with Mr. Lewis and he was absolutely amazing! At a time that has been the worst in my life he handled so many details and took care to keep me updated every step of the way. He went above and beyond and I am extremely grateful. The care that was shown to me is something I will never ever forget. Thank you for everything you did for me I truly appreciate it.“

“San Lorenzo Pioneer Cemetery is viewable on a driveby on Hesperian Blvd., a very busy street. i was surprised to see a cemetery here. it's been a long time judging by the dullness of the monuments, granites. i never see any activity. there's little green grass visible within the perimeters. the cemetery is closed seemingly at all hours. parking isn't readily available if one wants to visit. i have no interest to do so. one can see within by standing on the perimeter. there is a sign posted that the cemetery will be renovated. the sign is a few years old.“

“Looking for a final resting home for our parents is the last thing anyone looks forward to doing. When that time came for our family, we had the pleasure working with Jenny. She is so kind and helpful, and made the process as easy as it could have been. I just want to thank Jenny and her team on how she made a difficult time a little more easier. Thanks, from the bottom of my heart.“
