“Did an excellent job of arranging for my father’s cremation. I live out of state and it was very easy to take care of all of the arrangements by phone. I can’t speak to value because the cost was about twice as much as what it would cost me here in Texas but that’s probably about normal for California.“

“One of the last mortuaries that's left in Chinatown. I was there to assist a relative's funeral arrangements & had Jojo Pan as our rep. She was good @ explaining what is offered & made suggestions to any topics/rituals that we were not clear about regarding the Chinese traditions. Jojo & her team during the funeral ceremony all the way to the plot went well. The guest were all impressed on how well it all went even w/minor hick ups by the relatives & not from Jojo's team. Funerals like Weddings r always a delicate matter & it was handled quite well & glad it's over.“

“Brian is extroverted and talkative, which can feel overwhelming at times, but he knows his business well and he is willing to go the extra mile. When my mother died, the church arranged for a funeral but neglected to pass that information on to Monte’s. Brian still managed to arrange their schedule around other services to accommodate us. When my daughter bought flowers which never showed up, he refunded her money and made a donation in that amount to my mother’s favorite charity. I would recommend Brian at Monte’s Chapel of the Hills.“
“Several years ago my partner and I discussed the idea of looking into some sort of forest type burial place where our ashes could be placed together. Later, when he became gravely ill, we decided to purchase a tree from Better Place Forests in their Litchfield Hills location. The decision to place our ashes in this spot was a rite of commitment to each other, a sacred symbol of our joining. After my partner passed, the Better Place Forests staff was very helpful in planning the ceremony that we wanted to have. It was indeed a beautiful ceremony, simple, quiet, and very moving. Sarah, the wonderful staff member who had helped us organize the event, had an important role in the ceremony, but she did not take center stage. It was our event, and extremely intimate. I recently came back to visit the tree, and the kindness and warmth we had experienced both in the planning and in the spreading event were still present and available to us. I am so grateful that we made this decision. The whole experience has been as perfect as it was meant to be. I feel now there is a very special place in the world, a very quiet, beautiful and sacred spot, a living symbol of our love. Hiking and being in the woods was one of our favorite things to do together. So returning to the trees and the forest seems the ideal choice for us. I do recommend Better Place Forests, and am grateful to them for their kindness and for offering the means to have such an inspirational experience.“
