I started coming here about four years ago and have been super happy with the care of my dogs and cats. Dr. Kwon is very in touch with my animals, is an excellent diagnostician (he cured a horrendous dog skin issue that two specialists and $3000 could not help), a skilled surgeon (pets recover quickly without pain and scars are minimal) and has reasonable prices. Everyone has had staffing issues since Covid, but this hospital has a compassionate full staff and there is a sign on the counter that explains some of the new folks are in training. I recommend this vet without hesitation.“

1390 Willow Pass Rd, Concord“I would give them 100 stars if I could! It was a painful decision to put our first baby to sleep. It was hard for us and my toddler. But they were great from the beginning. While other company pushing me to commit the appointment when I was struggling what's the best for my cat. Restful paws was being so kind with they soft tones and told me it's ok to cancel on the day of if I can't let go. I did keep my appointment but it comforts me and release the pressure when they told me I have the option to change my mind on the day It was a super hot day. Doctor was so patience to wait for us saying goodbye to our boy and prepare everything professionally. Even offer something to help my toddler feels better. She gave us space and time to have a proper ceremony for our cat when she was standing there with us under the heat wave. I can't say enough thank you for that. It took me couple months before I can write this review but I'm grateful for their help and I highly recommend them. Thank you again to help our sweet boy passing smoothly and peacefully“

They keep me informed of the care they give to my dogs, and i totally trust their judgement and decisions. They strangely have a special connection with the animals, which makes their care that much better. Ive taken all my dogs to Thornhill pet hospital and wouldnt even consider any other veterinarian.“

5331 College Ave, Oakland“My kitty, Calypso, always had wonderful care with everyone at Claremont. The front desk staff is efficient and pleasant. The techs are caring and gracious. The doctors who saw Calypso, Leggeri and McDonald, are informative, thorough and communicative. However, my most recent need was euthanizing my dear sweet friend. It followed a month of exploration into what was wrong, referring me to an outside vet for confirmation and discussion so that I was able to make the decision to go the palliative care/end of life route that was best for Calypso. When the time came to let Calypso go, the Claremont front desk was so kind. The tech was so gentle. Dr. McDonald was professional yet understanding, tender and compassionate, letting me know exactly what she was about to do on each step. The empathy from all was not sappy but distinct. I was given as much private time with Calypso as I needed during the various stages of the process. It was awful to lose my beloved sweetheart but I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me help Calypso move onto her next journey. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough.“

Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.“

109 San Pablo Towne Center, San Pablo“Affordable vet! I’ve been here twice. The first visit is when my cat had a fever. The second visit is a year later when my second cat began to have breathing problems. I usually go to a different vet for their yearly shots, but this is my second option. They were extremely helpful both times and my cats recovered each visit. The receptionist ladies are quick answer the phone and are accommodating when scheduling an appointment. The vet workers in the back know what they are doing and are kind. I didn’t spend over $500 for both of the visits, and my kitties recovered days later!“

3331 Grand Ave, Oakland“I had a minor concern for my dog, a large rash and hitching/scratching. The receptionist could not book an appointment when I visited the hospital, but she gave me advice and I was able to book an appointment the next day once they were done with their triage for the day. The doctor addressed both the current concern for my dog but also discussed his health in general and his current medications since he is an older dog with a heart murmur. The staff is attentive, proactive and kind.“

She answers all of my questions and I really trust her recommendations. My rescue pup is shy but this office goes above and beyond to make sure she's comfortable. The vet techs are superb and I've always had an A+ experience with them - Dawn, Ryan and Adris to highlight a few :) Mocha and I highly recommend this vet“

I saw 4 other dogs come in that morning. People and animals were all calm, unafraid. The best experience I've had at a veterinarian. Doggy is back to her old self in 12 hours. This is my new vet!“

That's why I've been going to SAH for about 10 years. I love the staff there, Leather and Beatrice and just hope they can get another doctor as gentle and caring to animals as Dr Deiter was.
