“40 years ago Rollamatic installed a beautiful sliding glass roof over our atrium. We own an Eichler home. Our atrium is central in the house and it is also the main way we enter and exit our home. Whatever the issue Rollamatic has always taken care of our system...installing new glass when one of our kids broke the glass...installing a new motor after decades of use...tweeking the old supports for the system to roll smoothly. “After 30 years of dealing with constant repairs to our Flat Roof, we finally decided to go for a new one. Got many estimates and did a lot of research into the best method. The "oldtimers" wanted to do the "rip off the old one and tar and gravel a new one". That is SOOOO 1980's. The younger ones had several different methods, most of them way too expensive. The more I read the research, the more i liked the Silicone Method. It's fairly new but highly preferred by experts especially for the "Dreaded Flat Roof". I found Pitre Construction and Roofing, a family owned business that's been an East Bay (and beyond) favorite for decades. I dealt with Ricky Petri, the son of the founder. I really lucked out. He is a big proponent of The Silicone Method. It's waterproof, has no seams to fray and leak, keeps the house 10 degrees cooler (delightful during this current 90/100's heat wave). They offer a 5,10, or 15 year manufacture's warrantee, depending on the thickness of the silicone used. The roof is power washed first, then treated with a primer and taped flashing, then completely covered in General Electric manufactured Silicone. There are no seams. Ricky is a blast to deal with. He's a high energy, delightful young man who's been doing roofing with his dad since he was 5. The workers are professional, experienced and very tidy. We were totally thrilled with the result. If any of you have been dealing with the torment of a flat, or long-term leaky roof, i feel your pain. It's so comforting to not have to think about the upcoming rainy season for many years to come. Ricky's estimate was VERY fair, way cheaper then the 10 or more estimates some of which went as high as 16K. If you're in the market or just tired with dealing with the stress of wondering which part of the ceiling is going to leak or fall this winter, give Ricky a call. We found and hired Promodeling to redo all our plumbing, they relocated it from the walls to underground and then redid all our flooring throughout. They were very professional and took care of everything in a timely manner. Their office staff was always responsive & helpful as well. “I had to have the roof replaced on my 100 year old building in Oakland. From start to finish I was kept updated by Weston and project manager Doug Kellor at Fidelity Roof. They did an outstanding job and I am extremely satisfied with the work that was performed. My building has what is called a barrel roof and with the building being 100 years old it surprisingly didn't have as much wood rot as I anticipated but Doug's team got in there and cleared it out and replaced all the damaged wood. A very nice insulated roof was installed that I know will protect my roof and help it to last for many many years. Fidelity's team were respectful of my tenant and worked to ensure that they didn't disrupt their business. Fidelity completed the job in a very timely manner. I am so happy I chose this company and I would highly recommend it to any property owner who has a large building. I will definitely call Doug first when the time comes to replace the roof on my home even though their specialty is commercial roofs but I would certainly trust whomever he would refer me to! “In this winter of crazy horizontal rains, all the other roofing companies I contacted were telling me they could come out in 2-3 months to look at what was causing the brown spots and cracking in my ceiling. 2-3 months! But Westco gave me an appt 10 days out. Tim was prompt and efficient and honest. The flashing around the eyebrow feature (and other piping) hadn't been done correctly, and water was seeping in. On the other hand, I am planning a second floor addition in the next year, so it didn't make sense to to do a full-blown re-do of the flashing, so he advised I get a handyman to use sealant as a stop-gap solution only, until I can get the (20-yr+ old) roof replaced during the addition construction. I wish all interactions with contractors went this well.“

“It has been raining hard and my renters who live upstairs called and reported that the roof was leaking. I called Ramos Roofing because I've had a previous experience with them. About 10yrs earlier, I had desperately needed a downspout which they had come and installed expertly and then they waited patiently for payment which took a couple of weeks. The downspout still is there in its place. I never forgot their kindness to me at that time. Long story short when I called Lauro on Dec 31st, he came looked at the roof and said he would be back on New Years Day to make the repair. His crew returned on New Year's day (the only sunny day where rain is not predicted) did the repair to my roof and also cleaned a garage gutter and downspout not connected to the main house. They have done a total of 3 repairs on my roof in the last 10 yrs and all repairs have been successful. I truly appreciate their work, their professionalism and their care. “The crew came in a bit late because of traffic from East Bay to Palo Alto. However, the manager kept me communicated and provided me with updated ETA. The crew was professional, told me exactly what they plan to do. The seal of our skylight windows worn out and the crew cleaned the roof (including the window), and took picture for showing me the root-cause of the problem. The job is beautifully done.
