“It was my first time getting fitted for contact lenses, and I'm so glad I had come here instead of anywhere else. The waiting room was spacious with an abundance of seats and exceptionally clean. Prior to my appointment, I was given a thorough questionnaire about my eye and general health. I appreciated this because it demonstrated an interest in the patient's health as a whole, instead of focusing solely on the eyes. I have been to other specialists who haven't taken much time to consider any other health issues, but being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition has completely changed my outlook since that diagnosis has impacted my eyes. I knew even before I had met with Dr. Anaya, that I was going to be in good hands.When it was my turn to go, I was both greeted, and escorted, to the office space where my eyes would be examined. The staff here was very kind and explained everything thoroughly during my pre-exam. This was especially important since I had always been nervous about getting prescription contact lenses (despite using color ones in the past), but the staff here and Dr. Anaya had made me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions.Dr. Anaya took the time to answer all of my questions about my eye health, contact lenses, and thoroughly explained my eye's health to me as well. I have worn glasses for years, and I have never had a more comprehensive and thorough exam! It made me feel as though I knew where my eye health was standing, which gave me more confidence and relief than when I had first entered the office! I appreciated Dr. Anaya's recommendations for my eye health, hearing good news is always priceless. Even knowing my eye health was looking good, Dr. Anaya had validated my concerns and was very reassuring.After getting fitted for contact lenses, I went to update my prescription for glasses. I had just gotten glasses the year before, but they had given me a much weaker prescription and corrective lenses - both, weren't doing my eyes any favors! “Dr. Respicio has been taking are of us since 1998ish. We started with him in Daly City and now receive care in Hercules. We moved to Nevada 3 years ago and have continued to make the drive to see him because there really is not a better eye doctor on the planet. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Respicio, his office, his staff, everything is top notch. I tried someplace else last year, closer to home, highly recommended, etc. I will be driving the 3.5 hours until Dr. Respicio retires.“

“Channon Kao was the best OD i ever had - not only for all the reasons others mentioned, but because each prescription she gave me was better than what any other doctor has given me before or since. Given my high level of astigmatism and poor eyesight, I find it difficult to find a doctor who can get my prescription right, but she did every time. I do not have Kaiser insurance so cannot see her now, though wish I could.“

“Mr. Man-Wa Lam diagnosed my misaligned eyes when no other optometrist since the 3rd grade bothered to test me for it, meaning I've gone through a quarter of my life without understanding where a lot of my regular "tension headaches" or double vision have come from. My headaches got so bad, that I went to a doctor, and it was chalked up to seasonal allergies (!). Mr. Man-Wa Lam received his license to practice optometry first in the UK, and then in the US. In the UK, it's a must to be be tested on misaligned eyes on the final exam, he says. Whereas, Mr. Man-Wa Lam noted he was taught about misaligned eyes in America, but not tested on it in the final American exam. If any of the 15+ American optometrists I've seen for the past 17 years caught this condition early on, I would have sooner received the proper prescription for my glasses (which I now need to replace after getting a new prescription just 3 months ago). Instead, I've had varying prescriptions, with higher powers prescribed for my stronger eye, and never the correct powers to correct my misalignment. I am so thankful that Mr. Man-Wa Lam cared to ask about my headaches, and went the extra mile to administer the additional test to identify my misaligned eyes, even though I was only there for a contact lens exam! Wow, superb service. I highly recommend going here! P.S. If you have misaligned eyes, contact lenses are not able to correct for this right now.“

“I've been seeing Dr Wong for probably over 20 years now, and even after relocating to SF, I make a yearly trip over the bridge to get my eyes checked. The whole team is friendly and helpful. Both Doug and Florinda are great at helping choose and recommend frames that are in your budget and fit your face and style preferences and even some that you might not expect to like. It's a great office, all the newest technology to evaluate the health of your eyes. You can't go wrong!“

“I've been going to Alan's business since middle school and it's like visiting a trusted family member every time. There's things people need to understand before walking into the store:- Alan has been a skilled optician for 50+ years- He's not going to steer you towards Gucci/Prada etc. but he will steer you to brands that are high quality, not 3D printed or dumped out in a factory in China and last for many years- He will give you a blunt and honest opinion of how it looks on you and if it fits your face well- You should call ahead and schedule an appointment because Alan does this out of love for his clients, not to make money- His work is not cheap, but stretched out over the life of the frames, it's worth it- He has to deal with downtown Berkeley crazies off the street coming in and causing trouble, so introduce yourself, be open to advice, and be patient.“
