“Yellow Stripe to Green Belt! I really love @daehan_martial_arts it's been a great place for him to challenge him and, at the same time, give him confidence. Master Kim even called to see how he was doing when he missed some classes. Weve only been here for about 6 months and he had 2 belt tests, his grades dramatically improve, he's more socialable. My son had a severe speech delay that reallt hurt his confidence in himself and we finally found a place to help him believe in himself regardless of where you are in your life Don't hesitate to give this place a try for your kids or even as an adult. Thank you Dae Han Martial Arts!“

The instructors are dedicated and passionate, fostering an environment that encourages growth and confidence. It's more than just learning techniques; it's about developing character and resilience. “The quality of any martial arts training depends largely on the dojo in which it is practiced. And the dojo is a reflection of the Sensei that leads it. Mikhail Sensei leads Alameda Iaido and Genwakan Iaido Dojō with such a humble grace, always putting his students first, regardless of rank or experience while exhibiting a true understanding and remarkable prowess with the sword. That, coupled with an unflagging dedication to the direct transmission of this 450 year old art form and a meticulous scrutiny in his own practice make Alameda Iaido and Genwakan Iaido dojō the perfect place to train, learn and grow as a martial artist interested in Japanese swordsmanship.Mikhail Sensei goes out of his way to help students achieve their maximum potential and has never ever allowed ego or pettiness to make its way into the dojo either on or off the mat. His encyclopedic knowledge of all things related to this school of swordsmanship is shared generously and I personally have benefitted many times from his kindnesses and learned from his example. And this same kindness and humility he shares with anyone who steps through the doors of the dojo.(The dojo is also affiliated with the Kokusai Renmei in Japan and thanks to Mikhail Sensei nurtures the Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu lineage through his regular attendance at seminars around the globe.)“

“This review is based on training for 6 months for myself and my kids on BJJ. Essence BJJ is a great place to train and learn BJJ. The instructors are very nice and approachable. The gym is kids friendly and their classes for kids are designed for the kids to have fun while learning. Everyone at the gym has a great attitude and there is not the "mucho" attitude. I highly recommend Essence BJJ to learn and train BJJ.“

“I moved from pleasant hill California to Austin, texas, and have not been able to find a taekwondo classes as Powells tae kwondo classes. My son and I cried like to babies because we knew nobody was going to be a good coach like him. Also miss Amy is amazing. When people ask my son what do you miss the most. He will say master Powell. He teaches the kids, but also he adopt them as their own. They form them in life and give them plenty of good advice and recommendations every day. The prices are really affordable in comparison to others, and the quality is the best in all the bahia area. In 4 years that my son was in there he learn and improve his ADHD behavior as 100 percent.“

“Legendary martial art practice located in a humble area of El Cerritos. Team of excellent staff. I myself have never taken a class there, but have met the teachers in other settings - Buddhist temples, and community service. You are in good place. Worth a visit.“

“I have been going there for 7years. Gabby the owner not only is my teacher but has become my friend. The community of KMX is awesome some of the most amazing people I have met. As someone with a Karate background it is good to do a self defense style of fighting than a tournament style of fighting. This is a useful system for everyone.“

“My daughter has never been one to “yay let’s go do a high core physical activity “ kind of girl, so when I told her I wanted her to try a karate class she wasn’t too happy with me. Four months later and after that one class and she’s loving it! She can’t wait for class day and I can see her getting stronger and more and more confident with herself! Sensei Tom is very disciplined and fun with the kids and adults who take the classes. If you have a kid whom you want to really learn how to defend him or herself against anyone trying to harm them, this is the class. Best Sensei ever as my daughter says!“

“Traditional Tai Chi taught by the best Shi-Fu. The REAL deal. When done correctly, the impact on one's health is amazing. It takes at least a year of hard work and frequent practice before you start seeing changes. Now after almost 2 years my back is stronger, my posture much improved, I feel more energetic, and overall feel YEARS younger! The more you put into your practice the more you get out of it. They are very attentive to the students and always thrive to teach the correct form, breathing, posture and movements, no shortcuts. Shi-Fu Wong is truly dedicated to teaching his art and helping all his students improve. Highly recommended.“

“Every time I visit FICA I feel very welcomed by the students and instructors. The quality of instruction is exceptional, and they build you up gradually. After every class at FICA I feel I have learned so much, and gone beyond what I thought myself capable of - physically, musically, and spiritually. The relaxed Angola music puts me at ease, I feel relaxed and playful when learning. I never feel stressed or pressure to perform. Angola is an invitation to explore the internal rhythms inside, to bring what's inside out, to create. After a class at FICA, I feel more in touch with myself in everything I do the rest of the day. I primarily train Contemporânea at Capoeira Irmandade in Santa Clara (closer to where I live), and I find that Angola makes me more well-rounded as a capoeirista. Sometimes Contemporânea can be very fast paced and I can get caught up in movement and achievement and Angola puts the soul back into it. I deeply love the Angola style, it is very beautiful. The music also. If you ever have a chance to visit FICA, I highly recommend it. Helpful Hints: Angoleiros are very particular about dress codes. Wear shoes and pants with a t-shirt tucked in (no tank tops). Also sometimes it gets cold, so I'd suggest bringing a sweater.“
