The service is quick and everyone is professional. The price for contact lens prescription is a bit more than what I was used to at Costco, but otherwise I trust the professionalism here. “Been going here now 2nd time in 3 years. I just think it's important compliment. I love it here. Firstly, I can't remember the beautiful lady at front but she is just so nice, welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, helpful. I feel so comfortable coming and it was my son first time. The doctor is cool to talk to, knowledgeable like you know those you just know been doing something for so long and just make you feel comfortable cause you just know they know. So nice. Good with kids and adult. Works with insurance, and they don't push if you don't purchase there. Apple Pay when I forgot my wallet at work. Just the place to go in Oakland for them eyes.“

“I love these guys. First, and most importantly, they are very competent. All of my prescriptions have always been excellent, providing great clarity of vision. Next, they have really great frames. I've bought some first class frames that were worth every penny. The frame selection is one of the best reasons to go here. That said, one thing I like about this practice is they completely understand buying inexpensive spares online, and they are super helpful. Finally, they are very Covid aware. When you are in a small dark room with another person, it's comforting to know that they are wearing a mask and looking out for your health.“
“I've gotten two eye exams and two sets of glasses from Iris so far, and really like the place. The people who work here are knowledgeable and kind, and they have good frames - cool, unique styles. You can go back any time for small fixes and adjustments no cost; I was going back for two years with my first pair.“
“If it's your first time here, there's a parking lot you can use just around the corner. Dr. Mihwa Kim was easy to talk to from the beginning, able to make anyone feel at ease but most of all she's hilarious and gives good advice. She was thorough with the whole eye exam and my new prescription was spot on. There's also a nice selector glasses and they take VSP insurance. Highly recommend!“

“So the business kept in touch with me and we finally figured out that they were wrong and they do indeed take my insurance as I told them from the get-go. They've tried to book me with some appointments although they weren't available when I needed them but that's not their fault with the exception of the appointment that was missed because of the hullabaloo back and forth about insurance. We've worked everything out now and I still feel the way I do about text only communication, but they did call me so they have a completely gotten rid of it so that's good and I would consider seeing them after all.“

“I've been going to this spot for about 5 yrs. The O.D. (Amy Lee) is very good and goes above and beyond during the exam. Their staff is helpful and I especially appreciated the extra time they put into explaining my VSP benefits. My family got VSP insurance recently and i used that as motivation to stop procrastinating and get that long overdue exam. VSPs website is confusing and not a help. I called Site for Sore Eyes and they quickly explained that 1. yes they take VSP, 2. with coverage it would be $10, 3. confirmed that they had my rsvp from the web and could bump me up because they had a cancellation. Paperwork was pretty standard and all waiting for me. Dr Lee is proficient and takes you through all the standard tests. She gave me the option to have my pupils dialated which I didn't have time for. She noticed an anomaly that she made me aware of. Nothing serious but something to aware of. Script had everything I need for online glasses. I didn't need new glasses but they seemed to have a big selection of all the Luxattica brands (RayBan, Oakley, Tom Ford, Tommy Bahama) and more. I've seen some negative comments here about staff I've never heard of (maybe a different location of SFSE?) and insurance related. Insurance overall is confusing no matter where you go. They seem to just put it all on the consumer. It's got to be hard for any office to wade through the coverage types and confused patients. SFSEs was very helpful in this area and saved me $$s by explaining actual costs. Ill be back if I need new glasses, lenses and exams.“

“I went to a half dozen optical shops in the East Bay searching for something more stylish than my basic Costco frames. The Next team welcomed me with a wide range of fashionable options and explained the geometry of how frames should fit on my face. And unlike other shops they gave me undivided attention and didn't shame me because I'm a 60+ dude and not a 20 something. I'm delighted with my new frames and lenses and the money I saved compared to other shops. This easily was the best eyewear shopping experience I've ever had, and I highly recommend the selection and service offered by Melissa and Rick.“
