“I don't live in SoCal but I've used Hye Optic for my prescription lenses for about ten years because of their great service and always low and fair pricing (much better than even Costco), getting a new pair of frames every year or so. I would buy my Designer frames on eBay, send them to LA, and then get them back within a week or so...perfectly done, every time. I have been in cancer treatment for the last couple of years and I'm unable to work, putting me in an uncomfortable financial situation for the first time since I was a young man just starting out in life. I now have to carefully watch all my spending, and given our current inflation rate, it's often a challenge. My new prescription (much stronger from age), along with inflation, caused the price of my lenses to increase quite a bit and I requested that they send the frames back to me because I just didn't absolutely need the new lenses at the moment. My current glasses would have to hold me for a while. A week went by and I hadn't gotten them back, so I emailed them and asked whether they'd mailed them yet. They told me that they were filling the order anyway and that they'd mail them when they were finished...on them, as in no-charge/gratis.....FREE. I was nearly speechless, though I thanked them from the bottom of my heart. This was just an unbelievable gesture from them. I just really have no words to explain how grateful I am for Hye Optic, their staff, and their customer loyalty. Needless to say, they've got a customer for life. They had me anyway, but this sealed the deal. Regardless of any online companies low price offerings, I'm sticking with Hye Optic for life. Any company that behaves this way deserves my business, and everyone else's. It doesn't get any better than this. Beside the fact that their work has always been absolutely perfect. I am very very picky about tint color as well. I am absolutely astonished by the quality of measurement and lenses that I got from masters optical. So much so that I came back and changed all of my other progressive lenses despite having paid higher prices for those. It just doesn't match the excellent quality of work done here. Even if they may be out of network with my vision insurance, it's still much cheaper to come here and claim out of network benefits. And you can't find a quicker turnaround service for lenses in the area! Plus the people who work here are all super friendly, genuinely kind, and helpful so I'm happy to give them my service. Prices are similar to the chain stores. If you're looking for unique eye ware, this is worth a stop on Melrose, right off the 101 freeway.“
