436 Main St, El Segundo“I have been a member for 5 months now and I have nothing but positive things to say about GTS. They really care about providing a great experience to their members. I checked out Equinox, Planet Fitness, 24 hour fitness, and have been a member at other local gyms. If your focus is getting your work in and learning proper form you won't find a better deal. Overall: The best gym. Very good price given what you get. Their session cancellation and unused pass policy is very generous. All of the instructors are top notch and very nice people. No gym bros here. As a female, I really appreciate the friendly but focused atmosphere. Master Classes: Excellent. They will teach you proper form to get the max strength out of you while preventing injury. If you have a past injury, they will show you tips to still be able to train (I had an injury from before I started going to this gym). So far, I have taken the Day 1 and Day 2 master classes. I have knee problems from before and I found it unbelievable that with their instruction I was able to do full proper squats. Atmosphere/occupancy: Also excellent. I've never had to wait for any squat racks ever. There have been times when I'm the only one in the gym, especially early in the morning. They have a good mix of machines and I've always been able to make it work what they have. Everyone is very courteous. If there's any equipment that's malfunctioning I just have to send a text to the owners and they address it right away. Other members: People are usually minding their own business, but everyone is polite and considerate. Most people will give you a wave or nod if you're working out during the open gym. Owner/Coaches: Jason, the owner, is great. Again, my experience is that he is focused on providing the best experience for the members. He is a great coach and is very knowledgeable about form and the mechanics of strength training. I have interacted with two other coaches and have felt very comfortable and cared for during their instruction. As a female, this is something I really appreciate.“

Variety of activities/instructors/class durations to choose from Mon-Sat, three beautiful studio spaces, new playlists every class, complimentary towels and water, small class sizes and welcoming community. Classes are suited to a range of fitness levels, with great modifications and challenges on offer. This place has helped me recover from injuries, motivation slumps, and rough days more times than I can count. Modern facility, new equipment, super clean, super welcoming, and an incredible staff that take the time to treat you as a person rather than just another patient. They explain your issue, the treatments they'll use (and what those treatments do to help) and partner with you to get you back to your health and fitness goals. I used to go to their location in Beverly Hills but this one is much larger, tons of parking, and a dedicated gym area. Also great for group fitness classes if you're into that. I would (and have) recommended Evolution to everyone, and everyone I know who's been here (spouse, friends, coworkers) all rave about it as much (if not more) than me.“
“Chess Fitness (Jenn & Marco) changing my life. I'm a 57-year-old male who played high school sports but was inconsistent in my physical fitness in my 20, 30's and early 40's. I have worked out with several trainers in the last 10 years and when I moved to Manhattan Beach recently was dreading having to replace my long-time trainers. I got lucky in finding Chess Fitness and Jenn, Marco and the team. Jenn has deep experience training pro athletes, keeping them healthy and fixing them when they get injured. I have shoulder, hip, and calf issues and Jenn is guiding me as I fix these to be the best shape that I've been in since my mid-20's! I'm playing tennis again, running 10ks and moving so much better. Jenn is business-like (sets expectations) but is very real. She meets me where my body is, has taught me really effective warm-up exercises and pushes me with demanding circuits. Chess' small group lessons are highly effective and cost-effective. The energy is supportive and results are flowing! Happy to serve as a reference if anyone wants.“

From the moment we signed up, I had a good feeling, but this experience has blown every expectation out of the water. First of all, no screens — can we just take a moment to celebrate that? In a world full of tablets and phones, this camp brings kids back to what childhood should feel like: movement, connection, and FUN. My daughter comes home every day exhausted, happy, and beaming, full of stories about the activities, the friends she’s made, and how much she can’t wait to go back. She’s learning discipline, gaining confidence, and getting stronger — mentally and physically. As a parent, I truly couldn’t ask for more. I only wish I had found this place sooner. This camp is seriously a hidden gem, and I hope more families discover it. Sending my daughter here was hands down the best decision of the summer!“

My only take away from this whole experience is that he’s not shown as much as he deserves to be. If you look on self made Long Beach social media, he’s not shown as much as I would like, which I don’t find to be fair but I find him to be a hidden gem at this gym!

2100 Ohio Ave, Signal Hill“I've been training with Jolin for 7 months now. I came to him with the goal of getting my weight back up and putting muscle back on. Though we initially focused on strength and power, I have gotten so much more from him and our training. He implemented plyometrics, mobility, sprints--to name a few-- to help me become an overall better athlete on top of my original goal. His vast knowledge, professional experience, and unique variety of equipment and exercises has expanded my own knowledge and definition of training. I am now closer than ever to my desired weight/goal, and the work we have put in in the gym has shown direct results on the basketball court. I can jump higher, am more explosive, and overall, stronger and more well-rounded. I came to Jolin for a few specific goals, but have gotten so much more out of it. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who is serious about training and willing to invest in themselves with someone who loves to train and understands a wide multitude of clients and their needs/goals.“

The other members were friendly and welcoming, it was a great workout as well. They provided boxing gloves, and I could definitely see myself coming again :] Some parts of the gym did have a mild workout smell but thats a bit expected for the work I saw people putting in, just a note, it wasn't something that was a huge deterrent. Either way if you're considering checking it out for the classes I'd say you're in great hands.“

And to work out in the comfort of my home has been wonderful compared to a busy gym & waiting for a machine to open up, just luv this experience. I lost 8lbs in 6 weeks ???“
