“If I could leave 6 stars instead of 5, I would. In the scorching LA sun, Armando and his team finished our backyard in 2 days. It was better than I could have imagined. They were prompt, communicative, and did an excellent job on what was a terrible looking backyard of just weeds. We just recently purchased a house in the West Adams area and needed some help to create a backyard for not only us but our two dogs. Armando came to give us an estimate and was able to start within days of the estimate but finished the yard in two days! Myself and my husband could not have been happier. They also hauled away some extra shrubs and mulch that we had accumulated without any fuss or extra charges. I can't recommend him and his team more. I promise you, you won't regret it.“

“I had been wanting to "remodel" the front garden of my house for a long time, but somehow never got around to it. This summer, I decided to go for it, and used Yelp to sift through landscaping companies. I needed some hardscape work done as well, in addition to lawn and planter full changeover. Tom was very responsive, and after a quick first meeting, I felt very comfortable going with him. He came across as someone who knows what he is doing and diligent about his work. “We first hired Steve and crew to replace a fence on the side of our house, and get rid of a planter and pour concrete to increase the size of the driveway. One of Steve's employees/subcontractors named Dean did the work. He did an amazing job. Super detail oriented, and organized throughout the job. It pretty much came out perfect.Since we were so impressed with this job, we hired Steve again to do some concrete and stucco repair work on the house then paint the exterior. Our house had many cracks, so it was a decent sized job. There were some issues with the visibility of the crack repairs, so Steve came in and redid the stucco on large portions of the house at no cost to us. We were very impressed by this responsiveness. “We wanted to take advantage of LADWP's turf removal rebate, and figured it would be a good time to have the entire front and back yard relandscaped. A friend had their property relandscaped by GRL; I liked the look of what they had done, and decided to go with the same firm.Our general wishes were to have something drought-tolerant, reasonably low maintenance, and able to accommodate a high energy dog. We didn't have a lot of detailed ideas about specific plants or layouts, but did mention a few general preferences, including a wish for a dry streambed and a general fondness for boulders. Motti provided a detailed landscape plan which looked reasonable and included pictures of all proposed plants. We discussed options for decomposed granite color, pebble and rock size, the flow of paths, and other details. The cost was on the high end of our budget; Motti worked with us to decide what parts of the plan would be implemented later. The landscaping installation crew was top notch - efficient, tidy, knowledgeable. Kimberly, the project manager, was on site every day, checking in with us about plant placement, taking me boulder shopping, and becoming fast friends with the dog. Every bit of logistics was handled by GRL. I cannot imagine how long it would have taken us to do all of the work ourselves. Motti helped me complete the final submission to LADWP for the rebate approval, including taking photos and advising me on proper wording. I was keeping a close eye on compliance with LADWP's guidelines: counting to make sure we had the needed number of plants, checking that we weren't using any plants which are prohibited (I did catch one plant in the GRL plan that wasn't allowed, so be aware that you the consumer must supervise on this), and monitoring where the areas of removed turf were (since other parts of the relandscaped yard were not part of the turf rebate program).It's now been slightly more than half a year since installation was finished, and the vast majority of the plants are flourishing. There was one initial round of plant death for one particular cultivar in the worst heat of a very hot summer; those have been replaced with a hardier variety which is doing fine. A few other plants died in late fall/early winter - again, all to be expected. You'll want to budget for that. Neighbors and friends all say the yards look wonderful. There are things that we'd like to tweak, but on the whole, delighted with the entire project. Really liked working with all of GRL!“

“My how time flies... 6 years ago, Greenart Landscape Design (Brent) created an OASIS with just one brief consultation, and he had the vision I was unable/incapable of seeing. He took a lumpy incline of grass and really unusable space and turned it into a tri- level of heaven. I left him the gate keys while on a 12 day vacation, and I returned home to a space that was truly unrecognizable.
The quality of Brent and his teams work is OUTSTANDING. There is absolutely no price tag to put on his exceptional work with all the attention to every detail. Even after 6 years , I still see new variations of flowers and plants. The best investment I've made to truly have indoor and outdoor space for entertaining.

“Toddco saved our property. We had a bad experience with a tree trimming company that destroyed 25 years growth of two banks of tress on the side and front of our property. The bad trimmer also mangled the main Ficus in the center of our yard. The front trees were so traumatized by the damage (they were chain-sawed to their trunks), a virus attacked and we couldn't save them. Toddco stepped in and basically started from scratch. Philip redesigned our garden. The presentation was great -- he gave us a booklet showing all the different plants he would use and where he would put them. First, Toddco removed the front trees (no small matter since there were about 18 huge Ficus trees next to the sidewalk). Then he replaced them with about 13 Podocarpus trees. Each new tree was about 8' in height, so it was a major planting. Toddco put in a new drip irrigation system throughout the property, completely replanted our front garden and the planters that line the house, reshaped the main Ficus, and replanted the strip on the sidewalk near the street. In addition, Toddco repotted three major The results are beautiful. Philip is a gifted landscape architect. Not only is the design gorgeous, the workmanship is immaculate. The sidewalk chipped because Toddco had to use a stump grinder to remove the large Ficus roots, so Toddco fixed the sidewalk and it looks great. When the planting was complete, they power washed the concrete. The work was done very quickly and without any inconvenience to us. Actually, they bent over backwards to accommodate our timing. Because of work deadlines, we hadn't had time to pick out our deck planters. When we received short notice that an important client would be visiting, we rushed to get the planters and Toddco rearranged their schedules to make sure our trees were planted and the deck was finished in time for our client's visit. Truly an amazing company with a fabulous product and wonderful customer service. We're now arranging to have Toddco do our maintenance to ensure the garden stays beautiful. And we don't have to water -- the new drip irrigation system takes care of everything automatically. We woke up one morning to a blue sign on our front strip saying that our water-conserving garden is awesome! Thank you, Toddco.“

“A well oiled operation....I am going to give a major shout-out to the El Segundo landscaping company, Martinez Landscaping, who today completed a major redo of our entire front yard, and part of our backyard. Two weeks daily, always on time, always with a uniformed crew, always with the bulk materials arriving and refuse being picked on time, a comprehensive, well-discussed plan, and, a contractor with a pretty decent personality, always willing and receptive to listen. It was not a cheap job, and it involved removing tons of contaminated top soil and old lawn, roots, old piping, etc., etc., planting, grading, DGing, and putting down artifical turf per the plan. I have watched many an episode of Peoples' Court featuring lawsuits against a variety of landscape contractors for a variety of reasons. No chance of that here. I heartlily recommend Damien of Martinez Landscaping for any job, big or small!“
