“Master Dong is a highly trained martial artist and kind hearted leader. Burlingame Martial Arts is an excellent place for 1) confidence building in kids and 2) confidence building in parents knowing your kids can defend themselves. The community should be grateful for this martial arts studio and the learning opportunity it offers.“

“If you want it all in a dojo, this is the place. The instruction is world-class and second to none. I'm constantly amazed at the depth and practicality of Brasse-sensei's Aikido. But beyond even that, this is a place of support and community- I think of these people as my family. I came here looking for quality instruction, which I've received in abundance. What I wasn't expecting, but was pleasantly surprised, was how much this experience has changed me, my entire outlook on life and myself.“

“This is a duplicate review. Unsure what happened. My 5 yr old son takes private Taekwondo classes with Master D. He's been going for a few months now, and we've seen such a great improvement. My son is high energy and would prefer to throw himself up against the wall and roll around, but Master D is super patient with him. That and a combo of his kind but firm approach has helped my son truly love Taekwondo, and he enjoys seeing Master D every week. Master D. truly is the "kid whisperer." Cannot recommend enough!“

“The Mats is a cozy little yoga studio that has become my escape for self-care. The studio space itself is a little small but I love how intimate the classes are! They provide quality yoga mats, blocks, blankets and bolsters so you can focus on your flow if you're new and don't have equipment.I've been attending classes here for a few months now and have found an instructor for every mood. Stephenie's evening classes are perfect when I want a slow, meditative flow. She gently guides us through poses and holds each one long enough for my body to fully sink in. I always leave her class feeling loose and limber.Joann's morning Hatha class is great for de-stressing. The sequences are simple but rejuvenating. We move through meditations and breathing exercises at a leisurely pace. When I want more of a challenge, I go to Josh or Tiffany's Vinyasa classes. They seamlessly flow us through faster-paced flows focused on breath and building up to more advanced arm balances or backbends. Both are so encouraging and help modify poses for all skill levels. I come out of their classes energized and empowered.Overall it's a gem for anyone looking to establish or deepen their yoga practice. I feel lucky to have discovered this oasis in my neighborhood!“

“My whole family has been going to Bay Area Martial Arts Academy for several years now and I have to say they are wonderful. So this review is definitely long overdue. Both my daughters have gained so much strength and discipline from the instructor (Mr Agoff). I love the life lessons he instills in them as well. The kids learn self defense, how to fall properly, stick work, different fighting forms, and the importance of training and hard work. They also work on strength and stamina and the belts are earned and not just given. Definitely lucky that we have this local gem so close to home. Also nice that my husband goes there too so the three of them can train together.“

“Over the last few months, my two daughters have been coming to this place on nearly every weekday. During their sessions, I usually hang out in the waiting area, observing how the students are not just mastering Taekwondo, but also developing a range of other valuable abilities and positive mindsets. It's clear that Master Park is an exceptional instructor. I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone, regardless of age or skill level.“

“I've just started studying with Sifu Ken ( about 3 weeks) and the first lesson was demonstrably different than previous attempts at Wing Chun and akido. How? Despite there being a range of experience levels in the class, Sifu Ken and the more experienced couldn't have been more welcoming and within the first five minutes have you actually learning. I've also noticed that Sifu Ken "meets you where you are" but also sets an expectation that you progress by attending class AND making it a daily practice. he expects you to show up at class with questions -- not just showing up.“

“Love Coach McCreadie, he is extremely hands on and creates a fun learning environment for the kids, teens and adults. He also brings Bay Area culture into a traditional style, blending Eastern and Western philosophies. This dojo also ties into Adrenaline Worldwide, a group that works with Hollywood studios to include choreographed martial arts and stunts. The dojo is clean spacious and welcoming. One thing is that the name has changed to Afro Bushido Academy just in case you are looking for more information.“

“I cannot say enough of how fantastic Master Curry and Ms. Kim are with their students. Not the most important, but Precision has a junior olympic team who went to Korea to train, and Master Curry is one of the coaches for the junior olympic team. That should be enough to join Precision. However, to parents who are looking for more than TKD... They are the most positive motivators instructors you can ask for. Both of our boys were part of the Precision family. And that's what Precision is, a family. Master Curry and Ms Kim do not just inspire TKD training; they also instill confidence, teach respect to oneself and others, and helps you to be the best you can be.Master Curry would have inspirational talks with the students about what who they want to be, and how to work towards that goal. They are so much more than TKD instructors, they are your children's life coaches.Master Curry and Ms. Kim will be a great addition to your family when you join Precision TKD.“

“Let me preface anything I say here with the fact that I am neither a natural athlete, nor have I ever liked working out. With that said, the Tosetti team has somehow gotten me to a point in my life where I can’t imagine a life NOT doing squats, punching bags, wrestling, and swinging swords. It’s probably high time I left a review, since I’ve been going here since September 2018.Fitness classes are like a giant game of “Simon Says.” Coach Melissa and Coach Geralyn are amazing, and some of the warmest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Their patience and encouragement when I started these classes went a long way to bolster my confidence. Again, I’ve never liked working out, so I also had no idea what I was doing, and being told what to do did me a whole lot of good. They were happy to start me off with baby steps and add challenges as I progressed, and are always ready to show you alternatives if you have certain limitations, such as joint issues.Wrestling classes—when I say I knew nothing about working out, I knew even less about wrestling. I actually started these classes because of the sword classes (that’s a long story). Coach Paul officially teaches these (with the occasional supervised wrestling sessions from… another Paul), and has somehow shown me, at 5’4’’, how to throw people who tower over me. The classes tend to be a mix of all levels of experience and weight classes, and Coach Paul will often cater his lesson that day to the needs of the class demographic. It’s a whole lot of fun.Lastly, sword classes are what I joined Tosetti Institute for (and since I joined, they’ve added a polearms class to the weapons repertoire). These are not the kind of sword fighting classes that usually come to mind in the modern era, such as the foil fencing you see in the Olympics. We’re talking historical martial arts here, with swords in a variety of sizes and styles—and Coach Paul definitely emphasizes the martial part of the art. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. He draws form historical texts, but he’s a fighter first and foremost, and that’s what I think really sets his teaching off from other historical fencing schools—if you want to learn how to fight, he will teach you how to fight. I’m going to do a bit of bragging here, but some of our sword fighters are competition-winners (I’m not among them—I’m actually mediocre at best, but I love being able to learn from these awesome people).Really, I could go on and on about how much I love Tosetti Institute, and the people there. This was unfortunately the shortest I could keep this review while doing them any sort of justice, and it’s only an inkling of how much I love this place. Even sadder is the fact that I’ll be moving out of the area in the spring/ summer—of all the things in the SF Bay Area, Tosetti Institute and the people I’ve met there are what I will miss the most, and I don’t think I’ll ever find their equal.“

“Results are born where people who genuinely love what they do come I graduated from a sports university, and the funniest thing is that I didn't like martial arts (okay, okay, I did kickboxing for a month and a half because I needed the extra exercise after I stopped doing track-and-field professionally).I came here as an Au Pair (babysitter) and the kids from my host family started going to judo practices at Cahill's Judo Academy. At first I wasn't particularly interested in judo, but a week ago I caught myself wanting to join a class. By now, I've been attending Cahill's Judo Academy for almost six months (thanks to the children of my host family, who love the place), and I can tell that it's worth it to be a part of this community.I love seeing the professionalism of the coaches, their friendliness and attentive approach to everyone (for example, Coach Joe always tries to remember everyone by name, and I'm not just talking about the kids). In addition, I feel the energy of the place and can describe it as "results are born where people come who genuinely love what they do."P.S. Two weeks ago I was even lucky enough to get out on the mat. Coach Ben asked some parents to try an exercise the kids were doing - jumping over the speed ladder. I think I did it with success (at least I could tell by the cheers of the children and Coach Willie's thumbs up that it turned out pretty good). And I apologize in advance if I have misspelled some names.“

“I want to thank Mr. Johnson and everyone at Dojo USA San Bruno. We started training just before Covid hit and we went into distant learning with online classes. We started in person classes last year and I see a huge difference in Aarav’s focus. We were struggling in the beginning with the curriculum and now I see a huge difference in Aarav’s training. Aarav joined the Black Belt this year as well. He performed Bo Kata 2 at his end of school year talent show as well. I was super excited to see him perform in front of his classmates.I will highly recommend Dojo USA.“

“Writing this review now as my daughters have attended USSD with Sensei Kevin and Kate for the last 18 months. The five star review is not taken lightly by me and they've earned the excellent review. Overall it's a straight-forward, honest small business that also has the support of a large national organization. I imagine the support of the national organization helped the training continue throughout the tough covid times. The effort and flexibility of Kevin and Kate was spectacular and greatly appreciated. They moved to on-line instruction which was done so well my daughters were able to learn, practice and then eventually teach new techniques and defenses without having been in person. My wife and I have many years of formal martial arts training and we could tell the quality of the training was high, yet also age-appropriate for our children. Martial arts-wise, you and your family will be in good hands with Sensei Kevin in teaching the self-defense and creating a strong internal spirit. Yet, he and Kate are also great at creating a fun and varied environment for the students. The 4 year-olds in class get age-specific encouragement and instruction, while in the same class the 10 year-olds get messaging appropriate for their development and skill-level. It's also impressive to come early and see the older teens' and adults' skills with, and without, weapons and how Sensei Kevin helps good/dangerous martial artists get better. My daughters developed a lot in their discipline and safety since starting at USSD Half Moon Bay. It's definitely a good business to support.“

“We went to a few martial arts studios before landing at Evolve, and it really is a step above the others. Mark's kid's Muay Thai class is great, very fast and active, supportive and fun, and my kid always gets a good workout and leaves in a good mood. Very nice and friendly staff too, can't recommend this place more highly.“

“When our daughter started taking lessons back in 2019 at the Foster City site, we were unaware of this particular location.Due to the winter season and the new Foster City site construction, she started training here.We live in San Carlos so she might stick around depending on the logistics of her other extracurricular activities.“
