Decades ago, I had some wood double hung window sash made by Staton. They did fine work at a reasonable price. Recently, however, I had them make one replacement sash. It not only took about six months to receive it, the price quoted was very high...I bit the bullet and went ahead. However, when I went to pick it up, I was told that I owed an extra $200+. Later, the owner started alleging that I still owed them more money...luckily, I was able to show receipts to prove her wrong. I'm afraid this business is on the way out...a pity, as they used to be a valuable resource.

I've had several windows built here over the years. Each project has gone great... I got what was ordered.You need to understand this place is old school. There's a front office. They've heard what email is, but don't really use it. Bring a pencil and paper and be prepared to wait. But you watch the production processing chugging along right there. No computers. No CAD. Just wood, saws and various types of glass (including various glazing). Everything they build, they can repair (unlike modern plastic/metal/fiberglass creations which are disposable).

Expect sky-high prices, work that is somewhere between adequate and good in quality, endless delays and excuses, and to be treated disrespectfully, insulted, and threatened with illegal billing practices once the job is done.
