They were close to another company in price and I'm very glad we chose to work with Emma and like they are backed by an established company. “I did my homework obtaining multiple quotes. After I understood the pricing methodology, Select Cabinet Design had what appeared to be the best value. Fred (Owner), assured me that what I wanted was attainable from most of his suppliers (including what was my preference at that moment) for my measurements. He then personally measured and confirmed availability before I decided to proceed. There was only one particular cabinet base that was not available, but Fred provided me with multiple alternatives so that I was satisfied. Shortly after, he provided the exact design/rendering with measurements and was very flexible and committed to ensuring I was educated of all specific options before I chose any desired alterations and approved the final design. I saw small samples of the cabinet and countertop in the showroom and was pleased with the final product, as I wasn't sure of the actual quality without seeing the total product. Unfortunately, the project was delayed three days due to the CA "Hurricane" and an installer illness, but all demo and installation was completed in three days (despite an ordering issue that delayed some of the product) and the project started much sooner that I would have originally anticipated The installers were very collaborative, professional and respectful to ensure any on-the-job adjustments (filler spacing, crown molding and backsplash precision) were addressed properly and satisfactorily. The workmanship was very high quality despite the "non-straight" walls, etc. in my home. At the end of the day, I got great value in my kitchen (without any change orders or upcharges) and I am satisfied with the service and the final product quality meeting the design layout agreed upon.“

For example, I wanted to get baked on paint cabinets and eventually settled on Columbia which is a Canadian manufacturer with a semi-custom approach. This worked for me, but my husband really wanted a paper towel dispenser built into the cabinetry which was not a part of Columbia's normal inventory of choices. Lisa helped us order a solution with piecemeal parts from Columbia that were assembled by our cabinet installer. It looks so good and fits seamlessly into our island. “If you have been looking for a contractor to complete renovations but they've either been a) unresponsive, or b) proven to be untrust worthy whether its because they are up charging or flat our lying to you, I have great news for you. Your search for a great contractor is over. If this is your first stop during your search, consider yourself lucky. If you don't believe me, continue your search and I am 100% certain you'll end up right back here. From my experience, I've found that dishonest contractors will start to become unresponsive when you ask specific questions regarding why you are being charged what you are being charged. Its mostly because they will benefit when the customer is in the dark. However, honest contractors have absolutely no issue being transparent with you and that is exactly the type of contractor Jean is. My experience with Jean and his team was absolutely amazing throughout my entire project from start to finish. My project: I had existing tile countertops that I wanted to replace with quartz. I wanted a bookmatched waterfall with full kitchen backsplash, and I wanted my ponywall to be cut down to counter height grade and extend my counter to have an overhand to allow for seating. However, I had 2 electrical outlets on my ponywall that I needed to have rerouted. With the remaining quartz material I wanted to replace the coutners tops in both my guest bathroom and main bathroom (I'll include before and after pictures so you can see for yourself). I'd also like to give shout out to the guy I ran into at MSI for putting me in contact with him Jean. My goodness!! Jean and his team were absolutely phenomenal. If I ever plan on doing future renovations whether it be with my existing property or a future one, he's my guy. I'm only sharing my experience because of how difficult it was to find someone like Jean. But don't just take my word for it, take a look at the before and after pictures that I took. “After we hired Ace to do our remodel, Mike (the owner) had us see Stephanie (his daughter) at the design showroom. First we saw the cabinets that were goingto be installed, then we had to look around the showroom for wall and flooring tile for the kitchen and bathrooms and then flooring for the other rooms.Stephanie showed us samples of what we were interested in. “ProjectRyan at KnottyNuff wood in Santa Ana designed, crafted, and installed kitchen cabinets, a wine bar, and a linen closet as parts of a remodel for our home. The kitchen was just over 100 square feet, and the process began with our general contractor removing everything down to the studs in the walls.DesignWe visited the showroom to examine product and ask questions. We easily saw the options available to us, and Ryan answered all our questions without applying any pressure to make certain decisions. The design process continued with Ryan sending us custom drawings of the project for our approval based upon the product we selected and the accents we wanted. Throughout this process we felt that our desires were implemented and presented so that there was never any confusion. Based on the drawings, we made a few changes to the layout, and these changes were implemented without issue. There was no computer animated walkthrough in the process.ProfessionalismRyan and his workers (we saw two) are models of curtesy and professionalism. They are friendly, patient with all questions, and quick to respond to issues. For example, during installation we concluded that the hood over the range was slightly higher than desired, something not readily apparent on the drawings. All doors are aligned precisely and open and close smoothly. Spacing is precise.ValueWe had looked at four other custom cabinet outfits in the planning process before working with KnottyNuff Wood. We did not look at mass produced product available in larger chain stores. Ryan’s cabinets are not hardware store mass production. They were designed specifically for our unique space and our unique desires. As such, they add a beautiful and custom accent to our home.
