“With no prior background on what Pilates was, I took my chiropractor’s advice and began my scoliosis healing journey at Simply Pilates. That was 4 years ago and I am still practicing Pilates today! The owner and the entire staff are so welcoming and they are beyond knowledgeable with the Classical Pilates methods. I have never enjoyed “working out” but Simply Pilates changed my perspective 100%! Now I practice daily whenever I can and I owe my progress to all the amazing instructors I have had the opportunity to cross paths with- Amanda, Jen, Rebecca, Doug, Alicia and Gretchen! The mind, body and soul connection is something I have never experienced before until I began practicing Pilates! While my scoliosis will always be there, Gretchen taught me ways to open up my front and back body, and created special practice every week to ensure I continue to strengthen those troublesome areas. I am beyond grateful for having the opportunity to practice under Gretchen. The way she cares about each student, her in-depth knowledge and her passion for Pilates shines through every time I’m in her class. I have seen so much progress in the past 2 years- my body is stronger and I know what exercises to work on when my back issue arises. Not to mention I’m building definitions and muscles! “It has taken me awhile to write a review on Sommet Fitness because words cannot adequately describe the impact Steve Vicera has had on restoring my mobility and improving my quality of life.After a bad accident in 2020, which resulted in a 2 week stay at Mayo hospital, 2 months in a wheel chair, a total hip and elbow replacement, 24 weeks with a cast/heavy brace on my arm, followed by six months of traditional occupational and physical therapy, I was still living with tight/weak muscles, poor balance and using a cane to walk.In 2021, after much research on the internet, I booked an appointment with Steve at Sommet. Unlike some of the physicaltherapists I had worked with, who caused me a lot of knee pain pushing exercises that I was too weak to do, Steve started very slowly.He worked on breaking up scar tissue, gentle stretching and releasing tightness throughout my body. He slowly eased me into exercises and pilates when my body was ready. He was able to recognize the trauma I had been through both physically and emotionally.Steve Vicera is truly a master at his craft and an expert in his field. In addition, I feel he has a gift of healing that reaches beyond his knowledge, education, skills and experience.I highly recommend Steve if you are looking to improve your health/strength or if you have any physical limitations hindering you from enjoying your life. “Leah is amazing. After over 10 years of constant sciatic pain it is gone! After a few months we've been able to stretch out time between sessions and I just continue for maintence. I tried PT, Yoga, Personal Training and nothing cured by back pain like this. Also turned my mom onto this technique and she's found migraine relief with myofascial release. It's amazing!“

“By a stroke of luck or misfortune, depending on your views of workout intensity, I landed in a lunch time Pilates class with just me and Miranda. I'm new to Pilates and appropriately hesitant around heavy machinery, but Miranda put me at ease...and then through the ringer! We went through every (torture) device in the facility, of which there are ample, and she did a great job of guiding the proper usage and form while ensuring I left each with a puddle of perspiration. It was great! I honestly learned a lot about where I'm lacking in strength and looking forward to building a better mind/muscle connection with further practice.“
