“Farshad and Navid at Premium Wood did a great job fixing my fence. A wind storm blew down several panels and posts, but I really didn't want to replace them since I have climbing plants growing through and between the slats (including a 10+ year old unusual jasmine variety that is my pride and joy). They came up with a creative solution - adding new posts and attaching the old ones to those - that saved my plants and has my fence back up without having to demolish anything. And now I have bonus posts to grow new climbing vines on! They're also great at communicating via email/text/phone promptly, which is not something you can always count on with contractors. I highly recommend them for their creativity, respect for the owner's priorities, and ability to come up with cost-effective solutions.“

“TL/DR: We'd use them again for any updates to our deck or fencing needs.

They replaced a concrete patio with a composite deck. Their bid was competitive and Andy was the only one of the 3 contractors we spoke to who we felt truly listened to us regarding our backyard. Our backyard doesn't drain well (it's sodden underfoot after a rainstorm) and we raised this as a concern for the foundations of our deck. The other contractors hand-waved on "it'll be fine with concrete foundations" - Andy's solution was to drive piles into the ground until they hit rock.

His crew were excellent - they kept the site tidy, cared about what they were building (they rejected one set of material because they weren't happy with it) and kept us informed of when they'd be on site. We're very happy with the deck that they've built for us and their work is of a high standard with good attention to detail.“

“Jose and his team did a number of projects for us, including 3 bathroom remodels, a garage permitting and remodel, and some exterior work. Jose went above and beyond in all cases, and we will absolutely continue to work with him. He does not subcontract his work, and he and his team are incredibly professional, quiet and unobtrusive. He leaves everything clean throughout the duration of the project. He helped realize each project based on inspirational photos we showed him, helped source materials, and did not leave until the project was 100% to our satisfaction (and his). He added brilliant ideas to each project, and everything turned out wildly better than we anticipated.

Jose also stayed on budget with each project. His bids were detailed and it was always clear exactly where we were in the project each step of the way. We were never invoiced beyond the scope of the projects.

“Working with Allied Construction for my roof replacement was a great experience. From start to finish, working with Ben and his team were great. They were booked out a bit (summer time) but communicated the timelines to me and kept me up to date. When the installation time came, they communicated the drop off time of the dumpster, the arrival times of the crews and the expected completion time. When they opened it up, they found a few more things that needed to be taken care of and they made sure the job was done right. It was HOT the days they were here, but they worked efficiently, were pleasant to have around the property (no bad language or smoking that I've experienced with other contractors) and they cleaned up meticulously. “We had a great experience with JJ Landscaping & Irrigation. Hiring a local, small business is important to us. JJL&I offered very competitive pricing and fit us in their schedule without much delay. They repaired our turfstone side yard, allowing us to re-purpose materials in addition to material they brought in. The team was hard-working, efficient, and cleaned up the site at the end of the day. We will have them return to check & correct the wobble-factor on a few pavers, and add some decorative rock around the edges. The area is looking great, and they've been very accommodating as we add a little extra to the original work plan. So far, we are very pleased. I'll update and add pics (and probably the 5th star) after the next phase.
Update: Well, JJ Landscaping & Irrigation never did get back to us, didn't respond to texts, and never returned to correct wobbly turfstone or add rock border.
Still, I'm mostly pleased with JJL&I-- but I recommend you do not pay until the work is completed and you are 100% satisfied, (which is the general recommendation you always hear, right? Bad on me I guess)“
