Gordon Sherwin of 2nd Story Construction Inc. and his apprentice, Jacob did an excellent job creating a beautiful fireplace mantel and two superb bookcases. Their skill and attention to detail really impressed me. At my request, Gordon took a chair that was too low and turned it into lovely rocking chair. In addition, they were always on time with wonderful attitudes. 2nd Story Construction actually "rescued" me from a previous contractor who left the project in a lurch. Gordon also helped me with extra items, such as selecting the granite for the fireplace. Have worked with Gordon & his crew on two of our homes and their work is impeccable. Most recently he did an entire remodel on our 1970 house and turned it into a modern day dream. In addition, he has created beautiful custom millwork for us including an entertainment center with cabinets and bookshelves, stair railing, mantle, shelving units, entry way cubbies, and laundry room "lockers". All of the custom work was gorgeous and perfect for the space and purpose we had in mind. Whenever I wasn't sure what to do in a given space, Gordon always had fantastic ideas I would never have thought of. My only complaint is we ran out of projects for them. Highly recommend.

I have been using 2nd Story Construction for over eight years on many projects, from major renovations to leaking roof repairs. Why do I keep hiring Gordon for project after project? Because he is honest, transparent, and the work is always top notch. His weekly invoices keep costs manageable and clearly show the cost for labor and materials. There are no surprises. (The only surprise is that someone would damage his rating due to a traffic incident; something having nothing to do with his business.)
