We moved into a pretty old farm house in Cambridge. Upon closing the inspector told us we would have to make some electrical updates. After getting no response from a few other companies we emailed Northstar Electric. They responded to us right away. Shortly after they came out and gave us a very detailed estimate and a schedule for when they could do the work. Cody and Ben showed up on time, they installed can lights, ceilings fans, removed old wires, brought our panel up to code, installed GFI's, helped with power to our chicken coop and many other random tasks that our old house needed to get up to code. They were great to work with, very professional, and charged a fair price. I would definitely recommend them and will certainly use them in the future if we have a need for any other updates.
I was thoroughly impressed with Champlain Roofing. Very easy to work with. They made recommendations to improve the airflow through our attics. They took the time to show me a problem they found with our solar installationl They also took the time to discuss things with my contractor to reassure me about changes to be made. I am president of an HOA and they were patient with me when I requested payment for them. Their pricing was very competitive. Brian & Caty are terrific!

Just had my first haircut in Vermont at lakeshore hair. I was a client of my previous hairdresser for 20 years. Sadly she is far away. I always just get a wash, cut, dry. No coloring or perm. Rachel was very careful to understand what I wanted and the peculiarities of wavy hair (different curliness on different sides of my head). She did an awesome job. I will definitely be back.

Raymond and the team at 802 Waterproofing did an excellent job, repairing/re-blocking part of my home foundation that had shifted over time from water damage, poured a new mono-slab in the two car garage and installed new support column. Ray and Veronica were excellent to work with, great communication, provided a written estimate promptly with pricing that was better than others around, arrived on time for the scheduled timeframe to do the work and did a nice job cleaning up once completed. DJ’s was great! They had the big equipment to float the huge trees I had taken down, over my yard so my lawn doesn’t even look like a tree service was here. They know what they are doing, very professional and safe about it all. I definitely will contact them again if I want more trees taken down in the future.

Best grooming experience ever! I have a tiny 5 lb Yorkie and we have had the worst luck with grooming. We have gone to 3 seperate places in the area and each time I show the same inspo picture and I get back a super choppy not even close to inspo picture puppy back and then have to grow her out and try a new spot. I called the pet spa and they told me Melinda is the one to see for Yorkie and boy did she deliver! I picked up the cutest pup ever. The groom was exactly how I described she did such a great job. She definitely has a loyal customer now! Will have to update with pictures next time because my phone took a swim and I lost all photos of her cute self after the groom.

I have been using Mt. Mansfield Chimney Services for over 20 years. Our house was built in 1867 and like many old VT homes, has many unique qualities that can often turn into much larger, unexpected projects. Colin cleans our chimney every year, as our primary source of heat is with wood. In 2015, we had a complete asbestos abatement and needed our mantle and stonework behind our stove replaced. I called Colin in a panic, as this was an unexpected disaster that insurance did not cover. Colin was able to fit us in and work within our very tight budget. His work was exceptional (see included picture), his ability and willingness to work with other contractors regarding our specific needs made the overall project much easier to manage. Recently (Sept 2024), Colin disassembled our cinder block chimney and replaced it with a brick chimney (see pictures). As mentioned above, with such an old house, anytime a wall is opened or any disassembly is done, the potential for a much larger project exists. Colin finished the job on time. He was very reasonably priced. His attention to detail is superb.His communication was great, he thoroughly cleaned up after the project was finished and he made the chimney fit in beautifly with the character of the house. I highly recommend Colin and Mt. Mansfield Chimney Service. I have used Colin for a very long time, on yearly general chimney maintenance, as well as two very extensive & involved projects, that could have turned into much larger projects, costing much more than his original quoted prices. It's hard to find service providers that still take pride in their services and offer great customer service. Colin provides these quality in spades.

We recently added the Culligan system to the home we’ve lived in for 25 years. We had very hard water. Now, with their system it’s like drinking artisan water and the showers are so much more enjoyable.We couldn’t be more pleased with the high level of professionalism of the salesman and the technician. The salesman didn’t try to sell us, he simply showed us the difference. The technician was extremely knowledgeable of the system and answered all of our questions.We are planning to use them in a second home too!Culligan is a game changer!

I recently had Chuck's perform PM services to my furnace and radiant heating system at a commercial property in Colchester. Their service tech Zach was delightful, efficient, and extremely professional. These heating systems are not easily accessible (12 ft ladder just to get to them), but Zach had no complaints and quickly got right to it. On top of his friendly disposition, I was impressed by his skills and attention to detail.
