They gave me a same day appointment and Dr Valentino and her team very fantastic with my dog and with me as a pet owner. “took my guinea pig there back in february when her normal vet couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her and she was losing weight fast. going to an exotics vet is so important if you have a guinea pig or other small animal. my other vet was good but she just wasn’t knowledgeable enough on guinea pigs. i learned my lesson and now will only trust an exotics vet with my babies. thank you stahl for finding and treating my piggie’s ovarian cyst and giving me more time with her when i was scared i would lose her. they really are the best!“

“My cat Dolly had a cold that quickly grew into something more sinister - one morning, she was struggling to breathe and had bloody mucus coming out of her nose. Like any other grown up adult, I had a full on meltdown and called her normal vet sobbing because I was terrified she was dying.

Now I have a full on care plan with a local office (rhymes with Wanfield), and you’d think that paying a monthly fee for ongoing care of your precious baby angel would mean that…you get ongoing care for your precious baby angel. But, they were fully booked for the next few days - could I bring her in later that week? (Surely they misunderstood me. You see, she was struggling to breathe. This was an emergency…right?) But I was not confused - in fact, there are no appts for emergencies available. Ever. (Lesson learned lol)

So I called a few other local pet ERs and they were all on a several hour wait. (Remember, my cat can’t breathe. She is bleeding.)

Thank the dear Lord in heaven that I remembered this place opened up nearby. They took her immediately, and the entire staff was so kind and caring. (And very generously ignored the fact I had been crying for hours and looked like a swollen mess) They quickly figured out what was going on, got her on oxygen, and were so sweet and gentle with her that it totally erased all of my fears. They even gave her an hour or so in an oxygen tank free of charge while we waited for the test results.

The other thing I appreciated so much was the kindness about what treatments may or may not work. The hard thing about being a pet owner is having to essentially put a price on your animal’s life. Is it worth spending a few thousand dollars on something that may not even work? I really was so touched by the honesty and understanding the Doctor showed in weighing the options, and the way he gave his own opinions as a pet lover versus a vet.

Dolly is still recovering from her bout of pneumonia- but hopefully she gets better soon!“

It easy to make an appointment or reschedule if needed. Dr. Munzig has been my pups primary vet and has helped through dealing with his severe allergies. She is easy to talk to and non-judgmental. “Dr Mitchell and her team are just fabulous! She came highly recommended by my friends and colleagues, many who have been with her since she opened Animal Medical Center. She is very methodical in her approach to everything (rather than people who say you need every test on the sun) and Dell was so relaxed being AT a vet's office he fell asleep on the tile floor!

WE got test results in under 24 hours and were able to schedule a necessary ultrasound (recommended by previous vet; didn't want to take him to VCA) within a weeks time.

Dr. Mitchell and her vet techs take the time to discuss things with you rather than making you feel like you are on a hamster wheel time wise - of course we come prepared with all records and believe in partnering with our providers which means being prepared to make good use OF their time. “My 12 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd was having issues with arthritis in her hind legs. Following an exam of the entire dog and discussion with me, Hunter Mill’s doctor gave my shepherd an injection of Librela that seems to have given my dog new life and energy. Her arthritis issues are greatly reduced. We highly recommend this veterinary clinic and Librela. My 12 1/2 year old dog can now play and enjoy life better than last week prior to the injection. I’m told that the positive effects should last for about 30 days. We will be back next month for another injection.“

“Update 2024: the price has increased crazily, like a fecal test or a wellness visit took me $90+ a few months ago and just a few months later it's $103 or $105. The staff are not as friendly as before especially for today's visit. It's such a disappointment given that we insisted on using CAH for both of my lovely cats even after we moved out of this area, which takes us 30mins+ drive from our new place), but now I think it's time to change.
