The only reason for four stars was the final “glasses sales lady”. She was trying to sell me $400 glasses and I told her I just needed the script to purchase them online. She lost the “friendliness” immediately after and was very dismissive. After that, even if I HAD chosen to purchase, I definitely would never go back to purchase from her.“

“Dr. Mercer at Tidewater Eye Center is absolutely impeccable. She is patient, dedicated, and truly committed to perfecting your vision. I have Keratoconus with severe astigmatism, and thanks to her expertise, my vision has improved tremendously. Her staff, Robin and Brittany, are fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They make each visit smooth and comfortable. However, I must express concern regarding the Tidewater Optical shop. The customer service experience there has been frustrating. In particular, Christy’s (office manager) demeanor came across as dismissive and unprofessional. I’ve had to call multiple times about my lenses—which I still have not received—and each time, I was met with resistance and irritation. Let me be clear: when someone is struggling to see clearly, persistence is not a choice—it’s a necessity. Until you’ve experienced the challenge of impaired vision firsthand, it's important not to judge the urgency behind our calls. We’re not being difficult—we’re simply trying to see. Thank you to Dr. Mercer and her clinical team for their outstanding care. I sincerely hope the optical shop can improve its customer service approach to match the high standards of the rest of the practice.“
