“I really recommend Midlothian Optometric Center; they don't waste your time and answer all questions. They accept Anthem HealthKeepers Plus but are not the best deal if you're trying to pay out of pocket (OOP). This can be different if your insurance is more flexible with what they'll cover.Exam: Took about 45 minutes, probably because I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Alsop is very thorough and makes sure to answer all questions and explains them well enough for anyone to understand.Eyeglasses: The in-house optician is really high energy and very sales-oriented. Not sure if they still have the same optician. Frame selection was primarily from that one big eyewear company, and the prices were standard for the industry. They do offer eyewear that is covered completely by Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, but they're going to use standard plastic lenses. Not the office's fault, just what my insurance covered. Take good care of them if you go with standard plastic for adults; they can scratch easily.Summary: The doctor is excellent, and they have a selection of nice frames to choose from if you can afford them or have more flexible options with your individual insurance plan. I personally just browsed the frames, took pictures of the one I wanted, ordered it online, and had the lenses created at Walmart Vision. While not covered by my insurance, it still got me the frames I wanted with lenses I knew would hold up to my life without scratching. Midlothian Optometric can make the same thing, maybe even better, but it just boiled down to the difference in cost for me.“
“Had my yearly eye exam was greeted with smiles. Miss Lyn checked me in and explained everything. Saw Dr. Bowman this visit she was very professional and explained the exam as we went along. Was patient and attentive. Had to have my prescription upgraded. Was greeted by Don who helped me make a decision on new frames. It took a while for a decision but Don was patient and did not rush the process while talking we realized our birthdays were only a couple of days apart which really made things more personable.Some changes had been made to some policies and Don explained them so that I would understand. Miss Patrice came over to also help and the both of them worked together as a great customer service team to make me feel comfortable in my decision on frames and the payment options. Yes their job is customer service but when you make it more personalble to the customer that makes EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“Update after 12/28 appt Dr. Patel is personable, very knowledgeable and attentive. She discussed the results of my tests in detail and patiently answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. Such wonderful care is a rarity these days!! My technician was also patient and kind. Additionally, Serena and Sarah at the front helped me understand my insurance benefits and pick out glasses, all while staying in budget. This is by far the best eye care practice I've been to. WOW! I spoke with Nicole to schedule my first appt with this practice, and she provided some of the best customer service I've had in a while!! She patiently answered my many questions, informed me accurately of my insurance benefits, & reassured me, all while being kind, caring & professional!! I'm sure I'll be leaving additional positive feedback after my visit with Dr. Patel. What a great difference it makes to have wonderful, caring people schedule appts.
