About Mobile Tan Houston
Mobile Tan Houston, also known as The Roof, offers an excellent dining experience with attentive service that makes customers feel valued. The food is delicious, with standouts like the salmon, Branzino fish, shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. The atmosphere inside is beautiful, and the hostess is courteous. The restaurant is located on a rooftop overlooking a lovely lake, providing a private and relaxing setting. Visitors can enjoy dishes such as grilled Branzino with veggies, fried red snapper, and Rib eye steak. After dinner, many enjoy sitting on the patio with glasses of wine, watching the sunset and feeling the nice breeze. While the ambiance is nice and the staff friendly and vibrant, some reviews mention that more options for sides are needed and that the collard greens and fried pickles could use more flavor. Overall, The Roof is a highly recommended spot for brunch and dinner, with many customers returning for more.
We celebrated our anniversary at The Roof, and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like honored guests. The ambiance was elegant and romantic—soft lighting, beautiful décor, and sweeping views that made the night feel truly special. Our server went above and beyond, offering great menu suggestions and making sure we had everything we needed without ever interrupting our evening. The food was incredible—every dish was prepared with care and presented beautifully. The steak was cooked exactly to temperature, incredibly tender, and full of flavor, and the cocktails were crafted with the same level of detail. What made the...read full review
The live jazz was phenomenal! Service was horrible but I think they were short staffed and the only waiter was doing the best he could. Many people waited, with reservations, for at least 15 mins just to be seated, when there were plenty of available tables.
The Roof has great potential. It has a great location and the restaurant and bar is very nice. We were there on Wednesday evening the 27th of August. We made the reservation and said that we were celebrating an anniversary. We were the only people eating a meal. They are trying hard to make this restaurant a success. They had a couple of specials that evening which were nice. It is worth a try, but unfortunately we left with the feeling of not going back - also it is quite a few miles for us to drive. We wish them all the best in the future.
