“We absolutely love this place! I feel like they really care for the dogs... they take the time to take pix and few times during their stay and text them to you - and also give you access to view your dog at no extra cost through an app on your phone. They allow them to go outside and play with other dogs (at no extra cost) which is not the case with other boarding places. Can't say enough great things about Barks and Recreation!“

“These people have GSD breeding and training down to a science and art. Highly recommended! Update: I finally was able to pick up my perfect female puppy just a few days ago. She's extremely smart and well-behaved and picks things up quickly. She is extremely healthy and we are continuing the diet that she has been on since she was weaned off of her mother. It's an extensive diet that I highly recommend making at least a 30-day large batch in advance. You will not be happier with another dog from someplace else that is a pure of a breed as these German Shepherds are from these fine and nice and knowledgeable people.“

“The team at Pawtown does such a great job with my dogs. They have been staying at Pawtown for a few years now, when I have to be out of town. My dogs are both considered pitties to society. The team treats them like the big ol babies they truly are. It's nice to know, I can leave my dogs in a safe location with a great team and not have to worry.“

“This is an amazingly well run family pet boarding facility. The Family Pet Retreat takes care of pets with love and kindness unlike any that I've seen. So it doesn't feel like a business but a second home where you can leave your pet knowing they will be well taken care of. My sweet GSD was there for a week. She showed no signed of distress and looked wonderful when I picked her up. They bathed her and brushed her so nicely. They have a secure area for the dogs to play and do their business. They have rooms for the dogs to sleep in if they're staying the night. They ask you how and when they are fed. They ask you for anything else that might make them feel more at home. They personalize your pets stay and make you feel at ease. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We will definitely be back!! Thank you Family Pet Retreat!! “This is an excellent place for dogs. Following Hurricane Beryl and a prolonged power outage where we struggled to find pet-friendly accommodations, we left our dogs there for about a week. Upon picking them up, we were pleased to see that they were well-cared for and seemed content. The staff is exceptional, and the facility is clean. I will not hesitate to bring my dogs here again.“
