The reason for the 2 star review is that the consultation was presented several times as a $90 flat fee. A contract was signed before hand indicating that any additional fees would be discussed with me and my consent would be obtained. The bill at the end of the session was $190.00 to my surprise. An additional $100 was added for an barometric exam without any discussion with me. I was floored because $90 is plenty for an initial 45 minute consultation. Remember that the whole point of a consultation is to diagnose the problem and recommend a solution. The interesting thing is that without this exam, the initial consultation would have been useless and it would not have been possible to conclusively tell me what was wrong with my foot. This exam tells you how your feet are being used while walking and where the issues might be. It was an essential part of the initial consultation and should have been mentioned, especially since we signed a contract indicating that any additional fees would be discussed with me before hand. I asked if he was sure he got the diagnosis correct and he said an x-ray was required to confirm the diagnosis but I cancelled it because this would have cost an additional $100 and then I would have been out of pocket $290.00 just to tell me what what is wrong with my foot. That is a long way from the advertised $90.00 initial consultation fee. But because I pay taxes in a socialized health care system, I have had my family doctor refer me to x-ray. Anyway, this experience was sufficient to turn me off of private health care and I will be taking my foot issue to my family doctor to see if we can use the public system to address this issue. Addendum: (This second part of the review explains why i changed the rating to 5 stars based on subsequent visits). I saw Dr. Laoudi for my follow up consultations and I have decided to update my review from 2 stars to 5 stars. The service I received subsequent to my initial consultations as excellent. He is thoughtful, professional, takes time to explain everything, including the prices of each treatment before hand. He gives you a treatment plan, answers questions and clearly has a passion for his work. I highly recommend Dr. Laoudi.“
