Distinctive Carpentry was highly recommended by several families in our neighborhood who had used them for renovations so we saw examples of their work first hand. During the bid process, Josh was the most detailed and transparent in his proposal. He clearly laid everything out so there were no surprises. He worked with us to wrangle the scope to fit our budget. He didn't push us to spend more when it wasn't necessary but he explained options and encouraged us to make smart choices for the long-term. When problems arose with our architectural drawings, Josh and his team were unfazed and handled everything with ease, skill and humor. They showed up on time and put in a full day's work every day. There was no waiting and wondering. They stayed on budget and on schedule which was incredibly important because we chose to stay in our home during the build. A severe weather event caused a problem in the middle of the night and Josh and Scott showed up within minutes to handle things. The entire team and subs were professional, talented in their crafts and pleasant to have on site.“

“I can't stress enough how great their work is! The prep work alone they spent a full day and a half making sure the base was well compacted. We had a rough storm the next day with heavy downpours and a tree came down on the prepped drive. Cox's team came out and helped clear the tree and again spent hours doing prep work. Then when they laid the asphault, it was a solid 3 inches at least all around! Now, not going to lie, we had got 4 quotes and Cox was not the cheapest but our neighbors went with one of the cheaper ones and you can absolutely tell a difference in thickness, quality and the prepwork! We are so happy with how it looks and how well we know it will hold up for years to come.“

“We had a fairly small scale job to reinforce some beams in the foundation of our basement. Five stars for the work, Jose and Ryan did a great job, were in and out in a day and did additional spotting work that we didn't even notice. Three stars for scheduling, as it was a little hard to nail down an initial assessment and took them a while to schedule with us after cashing the initial deposit. We are lucky enough to have a fairly flexible work schedule as they contacted us with next day availability, but if you have a more rigid work or child care schedule it might be a bit tough.“
