“TL;DR:Whether you just want to study martial arts, compete in tournaments, or aspire to become a professional fighter, this is the school for you.Full Review:I joined NJMA as a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shortly after moving to New Jersey in 2019. The quality of teaching at the school is top notch. Marco continually adapts his approach to instruction, researching the most effective methods to improve your skills as fast as possible. At the school - there is no emphasis on competing or professional fighting. If that is a goal of yours, Marco will get behind you and help you get to where you want to be. There are a wide variety of skill levels and body sizes among the students. Everyone there is serious about their training, but there is still space for fun and laughter. The ability to execute techniques under “real world” stress scenarios is the golden standard. EG: Every technique taught is later tested under different levels of resistances (no resistance, some resistance, or max resistance or “live”). The result is knowing that you will eventually be able to execute the techniques can confidently rely on them outside of the gym.Lastly, I will say Marco is just a down to earth guy. He is a family man who is happy to answer serious questions from anyone (as time allows). Conversations after training have spanned the gamut of topics, both inside of martial arts and out. His wealth of knowledge and network of people is invaluable, and I am honored to be a student of his.“

“Action Karate has been with us through the dark Covid times. We happened to see a Facebook ad for a free online karate class in spring of 2020. My son tried it out and we were impressed with how engaging the instructor (Mr Brenner) was.He joined as a regular student and stuck with it as the refined the offering. The offering went from 100% online with a mix of local and remote students, to hybrid, to a separation of online students to their own instructor Mr Timin. The instructors not only teach karate but also lesson of the week. Even through a screen my son learned a lot if we could tell that the instructors cared and were very personable.Mr Timin (online instructor) develops a great connection with each of the kids and is great at balancing communication with them (he has a lot of patience with my son who usually replies with a long story). The best moment was when my son earned his yellow belt. He had been having a bad week but after he earned his yellow belt he had a look of relief on his face, a recognition of his efforts.Whether you are looking for an online instructor or a local school, Action offers a very personable approach to learning martial arts.“

“I started training with Strikezone around the summer of July 2023 to learn MMA. This has been the best decision and investment I have ever made for my health and happiness. Derek, and his team has been very supportive since day one. I remember my first day, Derek have provided me the fundamentals and guided me through with every step. Even with the other coaches, they will never leave by yourself and will work with you regardless if you’re new or not.A huge shoutout to Derek and his team for the ongoing support and embracing empathy. Not many people show this kind of support. But Strikezone is the place where you’ll feel welcomed, supported, and get a great work out.Overall, I highly recommend Strikezone and you will not be disappointed.“

“I began practicing a little over a year and half ago with almost no previous martial arts experience. I am thankful every single day since then that I discovered Aikido. More than that I am thankful that I landed at this dojo. Aikido can seem daunting in the beginning, it is physically challenging and the techniques may not seem as straight forward as other martial arts popular in America. That is one reason people place a lot of emphasis on the community here. Everyone at this dojo wants to see you succeed no matter your age, gender, body type, level of athleticism or anything else. At the end of the day Aikido is you vs. yourself. Everyone at this dojo recognizes that they have had challenges to overcome in their training. In turn we respect the challenges other beginners will be faced with. All anyone needs to start training here is the willingness to show respect to the art, the dojo and their peers.Sensei Perna's dedication to Aikido is inspiring. He leads by example and teaches without ego. In some circles Aikido has a reputation for being performative, more art than martial. But here Sensei Perna and all the other instructors make certain that the martial art you are learning will have practical application in today's world if it were ever necessary. To that end some of the techniques have been modified over the years to fit scenarios that are more likely to occur in our time. When O Sensei developed Aikido over a 100 years ago it was an innovation at the time. I think he would be happy to see continued innovation so that Aikido can remain relevant as a martial art in today's world.“

“My son started at 7 yrs old attending Undisputed MMA for about 1yr maybe a little over. Kids that age sometimes want to try different things so we took a break recently to do basketball and other things. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Coach Siyon, Coach Jabree ,Coach Sheree(my apologies if name spelled incorrectly) and all other staff. They all are so patient with the kids/students and do a great job teaching the material and also being a mentor. My son struggled at times with behavior in school last year and I would share his actions with the staff. They stepped right in to speak with him on these occasions and advise what is expected of him at all times. It was so helpful for me and for my son hearing another voice besides his parents about what to do and what not to do in school. One time Coach Sheree gave him a writing assignment and till this day it remains on a wall in his bedroom on some paper so he can read it whenever needed. I must say my son's behavior had did a complete 360 towards 2nd half of school year last year and continues that way this year. Thank you Coach Siyon, Coach Jabree & Coach Sheree for all you done for Jayceon it is very much appreciated. I strongly recommend parents looking for their child to learn boxing or martial arts to give Undisputed MMA a try these staff members are amazing and great at what they do!Thank You AllJohn (Jayceon's Dad)“

The staff is caring and knowledgeable. They provide opportunities for continued growth and they always celebrate the accomplishments of the students whether tots or adults. Not only has my son committed to the black belt process, my husband has as well! It is a wonderful community to be a part of.“

“I've been with Premier Martial Arts for 11 years (and counting) and can say there is no better martial arts school anywhere. Sensei David Pantano has helped me grow into the young woman I am today. Because I loved this place so much, I had the opportunity to become a sensei myself and took advantage right away. Not only is David Pantano a great instructor, but he is also the best boss.Sensei Channey Roberts is another fabulous member of the PMA family, the program director (the best one); she is on top of all the events and scheduling that happen along with Sensei Kayla McBride and Senpai Alivia. Moreover, they are great people to hold conversation with. Sensei Gavin, Sensei Isaac, Sensei Brandon, Sensei Brian, Sensei Bill, Sensei Ken, Sensei Bruce, Sensei Rodney, and all the other sense is that we have had over the years (Sensei Paul who did my first lesson) are awesome at what they do on the mat. The Leadership Team David Pantano organized is an amazing opportunity for growing children to learn to be leaders; they are also a great help on the mat. I always relish seeing children grow up into strong, bold leaders, which takes place at Premier Martial Arts (Huntingdon Valley).“

“I have trained with Richard Robinson sensei for over 20 years, and have visited his dojo when I am in PA many, many times. This is a great place to learn and train in martial arts. Robinson sensei has Black Belts in multiple styles, and is a most talented instructor in Nami ryu Aiki Heiho. The folks in the dojo are great to train with. There are a handful of instructors who share decades of experience in this dojo. If you like swords, jujutsu, and samurai lore, and live in the Philly/Ft. Washington area, you want to check out the River of Life Martial Arts \\u0026 Wellness Center.“

“Our child has been going here for over 2 years, and they wouldn't go anywhere else. Sensei Charles has been an amazing instructor and personal influence on them. They always come home happier than they went, and always want to teach us parents any new skills. It's clear from they way they go about this "teaching" that Sensei Charles is a role model of a kind, clear, and supportive teacher. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.“
