“I love this place. The dr is awesome really cares about the animals. He gave 1 and half more years with one of our dogs who was dying of cancer and 2 more years to our dog tzu who had kidney disease. Thanks for everything“
“Location & availability of appointment times. Dr. Chambers handled our “sensitive & temperamental” cat with ease. Although we knew our cat needed shots/annual check-up, it’s always a bit stressful & tends to be avoided for that reason. Our appointment experience put our fears at ease. Thank you GAH!“
“Great place to care for your fur babies! The people there are nice, compassionate, caring and very good at what they do.“
“Another successful visit for our pup Tink's 5th birthday exam. Dr. Rufus & Bob are extremely caring & consciencious, and loving & professional at the same time. Not an easy feat, but they do it with ease. We have used them for over 25 years with all of our pets, and have never had a single problem with their care of our "babies". Thank you both for your wonderful, professional, & caring service!!“
“Thank you for taking such good care of my little hamster! Everyone was very kind and helpful! I am very thankful that such a place exists close to home!“
“Been a great vet for us. Have 2 cats and a dog and have always been able to get in quickly.“
“Heart and Paw Callowhill is the best place in the city for grooming and vet needs! Amazing staff! I have gotten my dog groomed as well as had him get his yearly vaccines for 3 years here! 10 out of 10 !“
“They are friendly and good with animals. 2 issues are apparently the front desk, and the vets don't communicate. I get a quote for how much and what's to be done, and they always ask me. They are expensive, and that is why pet owners neglect they're pet. Not because they want to, but anytime you bring a pet to here expect to pay 300 to 1000 dollars, easily!“
“We have been going to Dr. Brady for over 13 years. This office is so compassionate, accommodating and knowledgeable. Our dogs have always loved to go to the vet. That should be all you need to know.“
“A bit pricey but they are very professional, knowledgeable and fast. They offer all services and get you in and out. Billings is detailed and explained in full. Optional services are explained before rendered.“
“I recently took my pet to Paws Pet Clinic and had an excellent experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring my pet received the best care. The clinic was clean and well-organized, and the vet was very attentive and compassionate. Highly recommend Paws Pet Clinic for anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care!“
“I changed from another vet about 2 years ago and am so happy I did. The whole team is so caring and Dr Luetke takes such good care of my pup and answers my (many) questions so that I understand follow up care.“
“Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, who take the time to explain everything and answer all questions. The price was reasonable, and they were upfront about costs ahead of time. Highly recommend!“
“The staff at wissahickon have been amazing dealing with me and my helicopter pet mom ways! My cat, Romeo would probably not bring alive if it wasn't for Dr. Yard's suggestion to go the Metropolitan Veterinary for his IBD. Romeo is currently dealing with a respiratory infection and arthritis and the doctors and staff have been so patient with me emailing them almost every day.
Thank you from Christina and Romeo!“
“Our normal vet was unable to see our dog when she was sick because her illness was above what they could handle. Horsham Veterinary Hospital offered a same day appointment with Dr. Balandovich. After her visit, she had to be seen elsewhere for higher level services and the staff found an appointment for her for the next day (we didn’t have to call ourselves). We unfortunately had to put her to sleep a few days later due to how ill she was and Horsham offered an appointment with Dr. Balandovich again the same day. They were kind to our family during a very difficult time and walked us through the process so we knew what to expect. I would recommend this veterinary practice.“
“My dog was very sick when I brought her in to be evaluated. She had to be there for 7 days and had to have 3 blood transfusions. Dr. Wallace and Jesse took such good care of my girl. I can’t say enough about how well my girl was cared for by them. I am so grateful I was able to bring her home that she recovered and for everyone at this hospital.“
“On Sunday October 6, it was a warm sunny day. My fully 6ft wood paneled fenced in backyard (replaced in spring recent) and enforced with chicken wire round the top, allowed my two kitties to roam about and enjoy outside safely. Never, could I ever imagine a rogue pit bull would jump my neighbors low wire fence into an adjacent neighbor’s yard and then ram his head through my wooden fence. He was after my fluffy Lucy cat and he tossed her around like she was an irrelevant plaything from his toy box!! We yelled, cursed and tried to make him release her from his jaw—but no way would he let go. He beat her about on any surface he could find, smiled when we demand him to “drop it!” And only by the grace of GOD were we able to retrieve her near lifeless body and rush her to the local vet with the help of the dogs owner.
Lucy sustained a broken jaw and multiple jaw fractures, 2 fractures of the vertebrae, a concussion, brain trauma that is still TBD and loss of multiple teeth. When our local vet stabilized her, they admitted they could not treat the level of injury she suffered. They recommended Univeristy of Pennsylvania Matthew J Ryan vet hospital to treat her.
With a healthy dose of pain meds, we drove her in the back of our truck on a makeshift stretcher(cardboard, towel, medical tape bound) to the best option available to diagnose whether, 1) they could help her or 2) it was a lost cause and euthanasia was most fair. With a heavy heart and trauma of our own we moved forward—but were delayed by a minor fender bender, not life altering in a basic sense, but Lucy was on a time clock!!
When we finally arrived, a 3rd year resident took our admittance info and was nothing less than empathetic. The ER doctor said she had a good chance so we trudged on. Day after day of ups and downs. Woke up great, maybe had a seizure, woke up better, needs transfusion, may be septic, better white blood cell count today..etc. It was like that for 8 days til sugery was finally viable and two days later, she is home and now five days after, getting stronger each day.
I do want to shout out to my contracted pet insurance Company though USAA, your company has been fair, paid the appropriate coverage, without challenge, and just a note that paying for pet ins, is without a doubt, one of the more adult things I’ve done in life and in doing so has paid its value. Both claims submitted were paid and deposited in my bank account within one day (even though they mention 2-3 bus days).
Their prompt payments were a huge relief for me. I had to take out a personal loan to cover the cost I had to spend across 3 credit cards to pay for Lucy’s surgery the day I picked her up. Her insurance covers 15k accident/illness ins. Her final bill before checkups and wire removal was almost 25k, but imagine if I didn’t have Insurance. This would definitely be a place where I find my self in a challenging spot.
Bottom line:
The university of Penn veterinary hospital is one of the best hospitals for Vetinary science on the east coast. From my experience, the state of the art techniques and analysis they provide at their hospital is unmatched. If you are in desperate times, and your pet is ill, these are the folks to handle your case. They take the life of your pet seriously and they take the love for your pet from you seriously.“
“Hands down the best vet I’ve ever taken my animals to. I won’t go anywhere else!!“
