She's priced fairly, provides excellent service (pictures of every walk and attention to Gary's well being), is an A+ communicator and just a generally great care-taker. Wendy was very hands on in making sure that he would be a good fit as he was a bit younger than they usually take. Right away this made us feel good, as we knew they were very serious about this experience. There is plenty of space for the dogs to exercise and socialize with the other dogs. Will absolutely be boarding here again!“

“The prices are definitely higher than other dog hotels and boarders. However, the price of this establishment feels more like an investment than paying for a service.Firstly, the facilities are clean and well organized. It’s a step above in every way from the status quo. It is definitely a dog hotel.My dog Mili is a formerly abused animal. She’s getting older and is generally more anxious than other dogs. Historically, she has a harder time with certain dogs vs others. She even used to bite people when she first was rescued.They interviewed her to cater to her needs and helped her bridge the gaps in her social skills. She definitely likes the more relaxed and older group of dogs and she always has anxiety in meeting new people. By the end of the day and on returning visits, she looks forward to spending time with the staff.They were perfect in their interactions with my dog and impeccably professional with me.This staff has built my trust with them as well as have helped develop my dogs ability to trust others both human and canine. They made things happen that I didn’t think was possible. I am more than satisfied.“

The staff at Original Bark were beyond helpful with answering all of my questions and helped assure me that their facility would take great care of my pup while he was there. The staff are so caring, friendly, and kind, the facility is clean and spacious, and access to the webcams to check in with your pup was easy to navigate and use. I will definitely be using Original Bark again the next time I visit Portland and would definitely recommend them!“

“How do we love thee let me count the ways. James has been one of those rare and precious discoveries in life. He's the puppy and puppy parent whisperer. For us and in our chaotic world of work and middle school he's been our guide through the depths of puppy hell and heights of joy. He's organized and professional, preparing for our sessions with print offs with homework and next steps for our training binder he gave us. He's filled gaps in getting my two high energy boys daily walks and socialization. He's there when I'm texting in tears after they've fear-peed on our couch, chewed my fave stillies, and I've returned from chasing them down in my bed tee and bare feet after they escaped through an open door. Alas all of these frights and frustrations are par for the adopting-two-puppies-at-once course and becoming less frequent thanks to James and his deep understanding of dog behavior and how ours affects them in all the ways. He's patient, responsive, and always offering different ways to connect and understand our boys. His permission to go at their pace and let them be idiots now and then has been possibly the most appreciated. We're in our third training course (boys are 9 mos and 13 mos), both group and private, and seeing a light at the end of this stuffing filled tunnel. We all adore James and are grateful that he's a part of our village:)“
