The music theory and mechanical instruction is excellent; instructors are responsive and adaptive to their students’ interest and excitement level. But, as a parent, I’m most appreciative of the affect this instruction has had on my teenage daughter’s ability to process and channel emotion into music. Now, when she feels confusion, frustration, anger, joy- often all at the same time at this age?- she sings, and she writes her feelings.
