“I am blown away in the best way possible by Rebecca. I had a bad experience with another MUA for a bridal trial, and I was super worried I wouldn't be able to find a MUA for my upcoming wedding.

I contacted Rebecca, who was responsive right away, was super lovely, accepted my request for a phone call where I could ask her questions, and booked my bridal trial with her. She was super lovely, taking the time to understand my wants, and asked me for inspiration looks so she can really grasp what I wanted to look like for my special day. Of course I had to book her for my wedding!

The other thing I really love about her talent is that she is able to give you an almost air-brushed makeup look, and she doesn't have a heavy hand, which is super important! I was able to feel my skin, and never felt cakey.

During the whole process she was super organized, creating a makeup chart for me during our bridal trial so the day-of would go smoothly. She was punctual (arriving earlier for set up than her original ETA which was fantastic), responsible, compassionate, and the funniest story teller.

The makeup she did for me during our trial was exactly what I got for my wedding day (see photos of trial and day-of). Rebecca also made sure to shimmer me up in my dress before I went off to do my first look. I truly couldn't have picked a better person to do my makeup, and I am hoping to work with her again in the future ?“

“I was looking for a place to get my haircut during the Covid-19 pandemic. I had held off going to the salon for over 8 months as 1) getting a haircut wasn't high on my priority list, and 2) I had planned to let my hair grow and use this opportunity to hopefully donate it for wigs for patients with cancer. I am a person who is used to getting my haircut at least twice a year and who has not had hair past my collarbone in over 10 years. As a front liner who wears my hair under a scrub cap while working and who has to wash my hair daily, the effects of frequent hair washing and lack of hair trimming have become more apparent. My hair was starting to look and feel very dry despite regular at home conditioning treatments. I have seen the hair cutting and colouring skill of the stylist, Ruby, who is the mom of one of my friends. She has cut and coloured the hair of several of my friends, including a pregnant friend who got her hair cut with Ruby a few months ago during the pandemic. I was looking for a salon that has safety measures in place that would allow me to feel as though I could safely get my hair cut. Having seen my friend's mom's posts on Facebook, I knew Ruby wears a mask as well as a face shield during her consultations/cuts to not only protect her clients, but herself as well. The salon Hair with Flair is in a plaza located close to Kennedy and Ellesmere. Hand sanitizer was available. I was also the only client in the salon during my appointment, and I of course wore a mask during the appointment. Ruby was very conscientious about cleanliness, as I observed her cleaning the hair wash station and the chair before use. I was very happy with the overall experience of getting my haircut at Hair with Flair and felt safe while I was there. Prices start at $25 for a 20 minute appointment. I paid $20 for a trim with some long face framing layering, which I found quite reasonable. Even though my goal is to continue to grow and eventually donate my hair, I want my locks to be in the best condition possible for whomever will receive them. I definitely recommend this salon if you're thinking about getting a haircut, hair colouring, or Olaplex conditioning treatments and are looking for a place that takes safety seriously. She does bridal and event hair and makeup services as well! The only caveat is that especially during this pandemic, they are only taking existing customers or by direct referral (which I completely understand for her safety).“
