“Home Instead did that exactly that for my father...they allowed him to be at home instead of going to an outside facility.

I was highly impressed with all aspects of the company. The initial meeting with Maria, walked us through the process and developed a plan that fit our needs while also continually checked up on my father and the care givers to make sure all was well. She was always just a phone call away and I never once believed that if there was a problem it wouldn't be solved immediately. It was really nice to know that the company wasn't just throwing a worker into our home without administration checking up weekly.

My father lived with me for about a year and a half battling cancer before recently passing. Although he was amazingly mobile and reasonably self sufficient for over a year it was still wearing on my wife and me. About 3 months before his passing it was clear that he needed help, and my wife and I definitely needed help. We had Home Instead come in 3 times a week for 4 hours. They were flexible and offered other hours and days if needed (we actually had scheduled additional days, but unfortunately was not needed, for the week that he passed )They helped get in the shower and helped with bathing and then, as his illness progressed, gave him bedside baths/shaved. Although they were good about making a connection and talking to Dad (Lora and Stacey had a special connection with Dad that he really enjoyed...thank you!) while they were there I think we benefited most because the care we were giving him was shared with the Home Instead Care Pros. They were very respectful of our home and our space and asked us what would be most helpful. Things like sweeping his room, straightening up, washing and changing the bedding each day, and making him lunches (Shaka's baked cookies for dad along with her normal duties which Dad really appreciated) took a huge load off our shoulders and gave us a block of time that we could continue life's chores without having stop constantly. Dad did not require constant attention for 4 hours but within that 4 hours he would need just something quick nearly every 15 -30 minutes, so much so that we didn't have the opportunity to get into anything that required a length of time. Home Instead restored that block of time in the morning so we could give him more undivided attention for the rest of the day. I am amazed that all of the care givers could truly care about my Dad in such a short period of time. Even Mia and Beth who only worked with dad one or two days had a compassion for him that showed.

So if you are getting worn out and need some help my wife and I would highly recommend Home Instead!“
