We were a tennant, and we had to move due to renovation. As promised, we should get our deposit and rated monthly rent back one month after the move. While it has been three months no refund to us still. We were wondering what others think about this place, when they were in our shoes.
Do not lease with Montlack Realty under Kirt Montlack,LLC in any of the properties, east side, west side of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Summit County, Lake County, Lorain County, Median County or in California. He lies to you! The maintenance personnel do not know their trades, do not know how to repair correctly the first time in your apartment. The office staff tell you what they think you want to hear. They were bad before the pandemic hit the world but they've gone to the "I DO NOT CARE" attitude with maintenance, security of the building, repairing the passenger elevator which has been not operating since 2019, rats and roaches in the laundry room, trash dumpster are left overloaded for too many days that residents have to place their trash bags beside the dumpster. The hallways are not routinely vacuumed or shampooed. They make promises that they do not fulfill. If you're looking for a "slum landlord," this is the place to move into at your own risk.
Do not move here , i have been here for 11 months and the people in the leasing office are terrible , especially Dawn , i made a appointment to see a more expensive apartment that is also owed by the same company , my appointment was cancelled by Dawn because she stated that i owe a past due balance which is a lie, so even tho i scheduled as a regular person and never mentioned i lived in another residence my appointment to see the other apartment was cancelled , as i told them on the phone the past due balance was a mixup which i did email "lotasha" about 2 months ago and i was told it would be fixed, 2 months later the balance was not fixed and now i can't look at a apartment because of the company's error ? Weird right, as i explained to Dawn i have facts that i made complaints about the false balance and that i also have my bank statements which show that , it's also strange to accuse me of owing January's rent in may, I'm pretty certain i would have been evicted or even seen a eviction notice but i have Not, although i paid my rent in January and may and have the receipts , Dawn then argues with me on the phone and then states that it is what it is and hangs up on me , i called back to talk it out and explain to her again that i did pay & i emailed her the payments receipts , she then ignores my email. I called back after a hour to ask did she receive the email, she emailed me back saying i paid January's rent late which i already told her. And then she says i owe for may, i asked how can you say i owe for may when i sent you the payment receipt for may which i paid on may 5th, 2021 she still overtalked me and told me i owe money. I said ok and she hung up. I went to the leasing office in hopes to have a better conversation face to face and also to show the payment receipts that i have, i was directed to sit down on a bench by the lady that was at the desk when i first walked in, Dawn came over and laughed at the fact that i was there she said " oh your *********** huhh, i said yes i am" , i then asked her could we discuss the issues because i was confused on why she still stated that i owed when i showed her the facts in email & also why Jeff (a worker for montlack) confirmed that my apartment viewing was cancelled due to me "owing rent" which is illegal because i can view anything first off , viewing a apartment and moving in is two different things , but my tour was cancelled due to her having this targeted issue with me. She began to get in my face (2 inches from my face) as i sat down on the bench , i asked her to get out my perosnal space and be professional, she then told me to get up then, so i stood up because at this point i feel very disrespected , she then began to talk over me and say i owe and that i need to read the papers she printed out, i began to ask her why i can't get a exact answer of what i owe and not a print out of some papers she typed up, she could not answer any of my questions but kept talking over me and laughing and being rude she said "i circled the check numbers on the paper since you can't read " she's just very rude and disrespectful , we began to get into a yelling match as i kept asking her to listen to what i was saying, i listened to what she said for hours over the phone , she would not listen and her and her worker began to team up on me which is unprofessional, so after a 30 minutes conversation we got no where but this is who the company hired as a manger for the leasing office , it's very sad but my experience was nothing good at all, i also recorded the whole conversation so I'm going to have my lawyer look into this because it seems like i am being targeted by this worker and that she just wants to make things hard for me. I also was cursed at and called names while in the argumentative conversation with her and her worker. I defended myself but this felt like high school gang up instead of a professional conversation between a leasing agent and a renter , as i left the
