“My husband came to Glaucoma consultants with an urgent matter. Every member there was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and caring. We felt like they had known us for a long time. Dr. Pokabla was really, IMHO, a hero for taking my husband's problem seriously, and knowing EXACTLY what was needed: sending us directly to the ER for treatment, which "saved the day". As Dr. Pokabla was telling us about Ladd's situation, this oldie married for 50 years got teary. Dr. Pokable noticed this and took time to take my hand and reassure me....so rare to find this combination of excellence in medicine AND in empathy! Our second visit was with Dr. Lenoci, who was also supportive, informative, and had much patience to answer my nervous questions. We are also impressed with the thoroughness of the practice. They could have just said: "O.K. the procedure worked. Good-bye." Thankfully, that was not the case. My husband has another checkup next week with Dr. Pokabla. At this time with an aging population, seemingly increasing health issues, and often understaffed and definitely overworked medical professionals, we are SO lucky to have found Chris, Kristina, Kate, Dr. Pokabla, Dr. Lenoci at Glaucoma Consultants of the Capital Region! “I have been using Dr Gabriels since moving to Albany several years ago. As a retired nurse I have observed a decline in the quality and attention given to patients by many doctors. Doctor Gabriels is an exception to this trend. He gives a thorough exam and takes the time to answer questions and concerns. I feel confident in his skill and years of experience.“

“I've never been a fan of going to an optometrist, especially the pupil dilation, so my mind was blown that Dr. Harbeck dilated my pupils simply by turning off the lights. It was a small and comfortable office, where the digital eye chart displayed pretty pictures when not showing the chart, with easy parking, and a stocked cooler. All the staff were extremely pleasant, and they had a nice selection of frames to choose from, at various levels. I learned quite a bit of how the pupil increases, as we age, so that the nice crisp, infinite focus, starts to get more and more blurry. In addition, the muscles in the eye weaken, so it gets hard and hard to focus for extended periods of time. They have become my new opticians.“

“I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses here in November with a warranty - on SALE!!!!! - for $69. They were cute and totally worth it because I need glasses to see to drive and clipons just aren't as good. Wouldn't you know it, my eyes changed dramatically in less than 3 months and my old sunnglasses are no good anymore. So I took my new prescription into Boscov's Optical in January - same young man as sales person - too see what they could do for me....because of the waarranty, he was able to replace the lenses in the sunglasses within 2 weeks for....drumroll...$32! That was such a steal that I bought another pair of regular prescription glasses for $150 which was also a very good price for no-line scratch resistant polycarbonate bifocals....Great service from Boscov's Optical! Thank you!“
