“Doctor Harrington is fantastic! Professional, responsive, courteous, and direct.

First met her in 2023 for a second opinion on my older dog's knee a few weeks after moving to the neighborhood. She made time to see my dog same day and gave excellent advice and referrals to a fantastic vet surgery practice in Brooklyn. I immediately started coming to CityVet first for everything.

In early 2024 she made a quick second diagnosis that another vet at her practice had missed, then performed the needed minor surgery on my dog herself with excellent results that immediately cleared up the issue.

Front desk is generally very responsive in person and over email, most recently going out of their way to follow up multiple times when PetSmart kept botching my flea/tick approval and helped me switch to Chewy.

“Everyone at Heart of Brooklyn has been so kind and compassionate with us and our very sensitive dog. Today I bought him in for an emergency and they fit us in so quickly and were so understanding and warm when he was having a hard time and feeling stressed out. “Matt was incredible! Took care of our cat who needed some stitches and antibiotics after a run in with an AC unit. Matt was so kind and caring and talked us through everything. Thank you Matt!! The trip ended up being way more expensive than expected (like $900+), and I wish we had known a bit more about the pricing of the procedure beforehand. But at the end of the day our cat needed help and AMC was there for us. We also had a long wait (we were there for around 5 hours total) but that's because other animals had to be prioritized due to being in much worse condition. I'm so grateful for the team for helping our baby! I would trust this place again for emergency care, just be prepared for a large bill (minimum $300+ up front just to be seen). “I can't say enough good things about the team at HEAL, and I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review! I first came to HEAL looking for a vet to handle travel paperwork for a trip to the UK. These folks were pros, knowing exactly how to handle the complicated paperwork and process. They were so good that I switched my dog to their care long-term. I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. Dr. Dumas has provided exceptional care for Archie over the years. She is knowledgable, proactive, and always ready with a smile and endless patience for my questions and worries.

Most recently, we've dealt with a big infection, and the whole HEAL team has gone above and beyond to make sure Archie received the daily care he needed -- the strongest review I can give is that even after receiving shots every single day, Archie is STILL excited to trot into the office where the HEAL team makes us feel like family.

Oh, also, they have lotion in the restrooms and show you the bill before they start treatment. I told you I can't say enough good things about them. Run, don't walk, to make HEAL your veterinary partner. They will love your pet like their own and truly be your partner in your pet's wellbeing.“

“I brought my dog there the other day for the first time… Very very happy! let me start here…(I rescue pitbulls for the last 20 years so I’m very serious about their care and their mental well-being)
I had found parking in the front of the clinic and my dog hates getting out of my truck.. (his fear)
so I had the door open, and I was just talking to him, waiting for him to be comfortable to come out. One of the girls that work there saw me and decided on her own to come out and be super helpful and greet my dog and try and help me get him out and make him feel comfortable! it may sound like not a big deal, but it was because she didn’t have to come out and go out of her way to help me without me asking.
so we get him out of the car, we go inside he was so happy… All the girls inside were so welcoming so sweet and so obsessed with my Boy Dante! I did not wait long at all, actually I only waited Maybe about 5 minutes 10 minutes.MAX. which normally at all my old vets, I’ve always waited at least 30 mins. (this definitely helps us as pet owners and also our pets that hate waiting in a waiting room getting anxious)
then I go into the room to see Dr. Anastasiou .. (the best!!!) The most kindest, gentle and educated Veterinarian! listened to all my concerns, paid attention to my dogs behavior, mannerisms, and took good care of him! he did not rush me out, and he made everything super easy!! I highly recommend Middletown animal clinic! 10/10 !!!“

“THIS IS MY LATEST REVIEW (10/28/2024)
A little over a week ago (October 20th, 2024 ~ 1AM), my sweet boy Balto passed away. Although these things are always tragic and hurt beyond words can express, I was fortunate to know that God had put amazing folks like THE ENTIRE STAFF at Howard Beach Animal Clinic PC, in our lives to be here for HIM and us (my family) for the time we had left with him.

Due to spiritual reasons, putting him down was never an option for me when it came to making decisions and monitoring his health. Dr. Rodriguez and the team never made me feel judged or shame for the decision (because ultimately we all cared about him and didn't want him to suffer too much due to his cancer) however, it was always something advised, they understood why I couldn't go that route and I APPRECIATE YOU ALL wholeheartedly for never putting me in that position on top of the other factors I was contending with.

We knew the diagnosis was terminal however, treating it as a hospice type situation was always the route I wanted to take-- make my boy as comfortable as he can be and have him pass away at home surrounded by those he love and those who love him. That's exactly how it happened (after all the pain and discomfort)-- he found peace.

Everyone shared such beautiful sentiments about him and I am so touched by how much this clinic truly cares. It speaks volumes that he was remembered for more than just being one of the challenging fur babies they'd have their hands full with-- but that they truly are animal lovers here and they just want to do what's best.

I am saddened to see any negative reviews pertaining to this animal clinic.

Anyways, this review is LOOOOOOONG overdue.
I have a very very difficult, massive, aggressive Alaskan Malamute.

Sometime last year, he had an abscess type situation erupt in his neck area. His vet at the time really wanted nothing to do with it, and kind of left us hanging high and dry.

In a panic with no clue where to go and what to do, I stumbled across Howard Beach Animal Clinic PC online. I called them up, explained my situation, and they said come on over.

They treated the situation as an emergency visit (there was an additional charge, but totally worth it to be accommodated so quickly). Dr. Rodriguez and her care team were AMAAAAZINGGGGG!! I cannot stress enough how at ease they put me, improvising and comfortable with any/ all measures needed to deal with my difficult to deal with Alaskan Malamute.

We followed up for the 2 week follow up and all was well. Then last month, Dr. Rodriguez and her team handled his annual physical, where she found a mass near his anus and she guided me through the steps of the findings and what comes next.

This hasn't been easy. Having a pet who needs to be sedated for appointments since I've had him... EVERYONE at Howard Beach Animal Clinic has made this so easy, to take care of him and monitoring his health.

I cannot thank them enough. From the girls at the front desk, to the support team in and out of the rooms, to the technicians and the doctors themselves. I thank God everyday that we found you guys.
