I have a manufacture recirculation pump for 1/2 the home. The kitchen however was not in line with it. Was running faucet for almost 5 minutes to get hot water and dish washer was not getting hot water during initial cycle. Installed the newest Chili Pepper pump in kitchen and now I get hot water on demand. No more waiting and wasting water.. happy with product.
My kitchen is the farthest room from my water heater. I would need hot water and would stand there for about five minutes watching gallon after gallon go down the drain. The Chilipepper CP 9000 hot water recirculating pump ends this waste in a few seconds. You can activate the pump by pushing the included button or by key fobs in other bathrooms, etc. (Pump can be installed at any sink or even at the water heater) This was the only pump I've found with this "instant on" feature. It works. It saves a ton of water (and we live in a desert, so that's important). Yes, it makes noise (it's a pump), but when it shuts off you know you have hot water. It's extremely satisfying to not waste time and water anymore. A few things to keep in mind when installing: 1) You may want to have your angle stops (the mini-faucets under the sink) checked and, if necessary, replaced before you start installing. They are often of poor quality and can become a headache when adding the Chilipepper; 2) you will have to buy your own braided cable hoses (2) for under the sink; better to get a little longer length than you think you'll need; 3) thread the hoses onto the Chilipepper...read full review
