“A variety of tests did not give us the best news ever, but Dr. Roberts was both professional and personable in delivering it. She presented all the facts and options without pressuring or guilting. When asked what she would do for her pet in this situation she was honest and ultimately supportive of my decision for comfort care.

The front desk staff were also empathetic to the situation, but I really have to say that, based on previous experiences with the medical staff here, these five stars are for Dr. Roberts more than the clinic itself.

“I recently brought my 11-year-old dog, Worf, to Southwest Veterinary Hospital for surgery, and while it was an emotional and difficult experience, the staff made it much easier to navigate. They were incredibly kind, patient, and informative. The team took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, the staff involved, and what to expect afterward.

When we started discussing scheduling, I mentioned an upcoming trip, and they worked with me to ensure I could be home during Worf's recovery rather than leaving him in someone else's care. They were very transparent about the financial aspects, clearly explaining necessary procedures, optional treatments, and the potential long-term implications of different choices. Despite the high costs, I never felt pressured. They truly helped me make rational decisions during a highly emotional time.

The care they provided was all-encompassing—not just for Worf but for me as well. They genuinely considered my needs as a pet owner while ensuring my dog received the best possible treatment. I highly recommend Southwest Veterinary Hospital for their compassionate, thoughtful, and thorough approach.“

“Soooo soo very thankful for Aspen. They squeezed me in for a very last minute appointment after my poor pup had a cyst re-form on his noggin. I wanted to get him seen before it ruptured but, unfortunately, it happened anyways. The vet and the techs were all SO kind and supportive. They were incredibly empathetic and showed as much love to my pup as I do every day - if not more.

“We take all of our animals to Peavine. One of our shepherds is a rescue and is very timid, and skittish. All of the vets give her plenty of time to be comfortable and relax. They're all patient and take great care of them. Its the only place we take our animals!“

“Dr. Dose pulled some of my dogs teeth. She did an excellent job. I could not believe how fair and reasonable the cost was. I would recommend them highly. They are now BLU'S vets. We feel they really care about animals.

“We've been taking our poodles to them for years now and the service and care have been great! We have seen all three vets and they are all good. The dental cleaning and dental work is excellent, especially for small breeds. We're very happy to have great health and dental care for our pets.“

“My boys love it here, gained lots of weight, and have done really well. I've enjoyed it here. 2 rounds pens, large outdoor arena, wash racks, several tack rooms. Huge pens/turnouts. Workers are friendly and everything is kept very clean.“

“Dr. Green assisted our family with saying goodbye to our beloved dog. It was peacefully done at home, where our dog was comfortable, and we were too. It is a difficult experience to loose a pet but Dr. Green was good at explaining the process, allowing us time to grieve and say goodbye. “I started taking my pup here several years ago when I first moved to the area. Dr Schmitt has always been very thorough, caring, and patient with us and our furbabies. He's knowledgeable and is great at explaining things to us. The rest of the staff are so friendly and make us feel like family. I highly recommend South Reno Veterinary Hospital, and would continue using them even if it meant driving way across town.“

“We have taken our poodle three times for cardiac care with Dr. Catherine Gunther-Harr. Each time Dr. G and the staff have been great at care, explanations, and setting up a plan. Fortunately we have only had testing and no treatment needs so I can’t comment further, but I can say I have high confidence in them and if treatment was needed we would not hesitate to get that done with Dr. G and staff.“

Got there early, a little freaked out about the kitty. Had a crying fit trying to get him in. It was me just very worried. I called everyone. No one would help my poor kitty. So I was on edge. Anyway:?? Courtney helped get us into a room. What a relief. Then Shakira ( Docs Asst ) came in right away and talked very extensively about Kenya. Then Doctor Rishwan came in. He’s very thorough and explained everything. We worked a plan and they were all amazing. Rob, the office manager was also so helpful. My kitty is resting and already feels much better. We go back in two weeks.

“We recently moved to Reno and they have been great. We have/had two elderly dogs and the vets at Klaich have helped them both. Unfortunately through no fault of anybody we lost our large German Shepard recently who had some serious health issues at the end. They were also very great with his end of life care. I know that is sad to post but it’s also important to have people that care about the animal that is part of your family at the end.

We couldn’t be happier with our Vet here and would recommend to anyone. Our other dog is an elderly Lab and he is doing wonderful in their care.“
