“really nice and super knowledgeable coaches. they really care for your progress as a student. I especially appreciate how much effort Charlie and Kate put into creating a strong sense of community there.“
“Our two boys, 4 & 6, are truly enjoying their experience here. The instructors are all so kind and patient. The staff fully embraced them from day one and knew them by their first names almost immediately. They do a great job scaling the experience to the child and helping them build self-confidence and focus in fun and supportive atmosphere. Our kids look forward to their classes every week!“

722 Market Street, 3rd Floor., We are located between 7th & 8th on Market Street., Our entrance is between to Subway restaurant and a dentist office., Philadelphia“I had the opportunity to visit Old City Aikido for a training session while on a trip to Philly from NY. It has been several years since my last visit. I found the dojo refurbished with more mat space, nicely organized, and super clean. It created a wonderful setting to train. The instruction led by Jason Perna Sensei was wonderful and inspirational with lots of personalized coaching throughout the session. The setting, instruction, and students there created a serious and fun experience. I can’t wait to visit again sometime soon! Thank you!“
“Nothing but amazing things to say about Mr Hassett and what he has built. My jiujitsu game has improved drastically since joining a short year and a half ago. Clean, professional and a treasure trove of knowledge.“
“Wonderful place to build your kid's focus and confidence! My teenager has been there for 3 years and he's a quiet kid but he loves sharing his new moves with me and his grandparents and it helps us engage with him at this age. It has built his confidence at school and walking around the city. Sensei is a great role model, professional and family focused. I highly recommend Karate Kickers with no question.“
“This journey, if you choose to take it, is a life changing one.For me, getting into the Intermediate class is when I really got the high of jiu-jitsu, becuase thats where essentially all sparring happens and you really start getting in touch with the art, the people, and the work. Really loved it but I got a concussion during a very intense standing spar (not very common in this sport). Being a grad student, this was really bad, but Phil and the team listened to what happened and helped me out.“
“My daughters and I love this studio. The students and teachers here create a welcoming and fun atmosphere while keeping the traditions of the true art of karate. My daughter and I have made many friends, and best still, we are doing something fun and healthy as a family. I highly recommend this school for any adult, child and/or family! ?“
“The best martial arts academy! Saw them on abc 6 news and philly 76ers half time show!“
“If you're not doing your kids birthday parties at Best of the Best, you're missing out. We just had our 6 year olds bday there and it was 1000 times better than any bounce house or trampoline park. Kru Jon and Sensei Jon had every kid engaged and included. The parents were blown away by how organized things were and they loved not having to follow their kids all over a huge park. 10/10, would do it again in a heartbeat.Note to parents... it's also more affordable. Which also helps.“
“Pretty amazing. Master pope is really nice. Never makes u feel like u dont know what you are doing. Explains things patiently! I Recommend taking his lessons for sure!“
“Our 3year old has been attending little tigers for almost a month and I cannot speak highly enough of Master Ju and the staff. Their class is just as engaging for parents as it is for the kiddos. The staff has so much energy, especially at the end of the day. My husband compared watching our 3 year old in taekwondo to watching a Disney performance and he is so right! The enthusiasm and encouragement is so infectious and we see a change in our son’s confidence at home. They are so patient with each kiddo. This was the best decision we could have made for him!“
“So proud of my husband baby you are doing an awesome job with the school and the children at the school keep up the good work they love you and so do I aways.“
“I started training with Philadelphia JiuJitsu this past summer and it has been a great experience so far. Damon is extremely knowledgeable with over 30 years experience and has a great passion for teaching. What is unique about Philadelphia JiuJitsu is that it is more than a jiujitsu school as it incorporates many different martial arts. There is judo, wrestling, aikido, knife and stick fighting, and practical self-defense techniques. So you can come to a class that focuses on what you are interested in. The price is fair, the instructors are knowledgeable and whole gym is welcoming so if you are looking into learning martial arts and self defense Philadelphia jiujitsu is worth a visit“
“Sensei John is a great mentor. Awesome group of students too! This is a great program for your kids to meet new friends and learn valuable life skills beyond just Karate“
“Sensai Irene was very thorough and courteous. We signed our son up for the trial period and we're hoping he sticks with it after our local studio closed last month. Only downside is the classes are shorter than we're used to. They're only 35 minutes long, but we'll see what happens. Too early to tell if he'll stick with it, but it seemed like a great environment so far.“
“My son has been attending classes here for several years now, and I can't praise the instructors enough. They are kind and will push you to be your best. Love them!!“
“Shotokan Karate Academy is a great place to take your children to learn martial arts. The sensei takes his time to teach his students. Nice, clean, and friendly environment.“
“My son has been with the Little Dragons for over a year. I can clearly see his progress through challenges and learning through fun.“
“It has been a great opportunity to introduce this to my child. This has been helping my child with focus and discipline. I love the way the staff cares about their students. And the effort they put into each and every children. Self defense is such an important skill to have esp when they're young and facing bullying at school. I would recommend this to any parents.“
“If you asked me last year, to go too Hershey Park the answer would have been a hard no. Fast forward to last week, and there I was climbing hills and stairs for the ten roller coasters I rode. We were in the park for eight hours. It was nine months ago I started Tai Chi with Andy. My initial goal was to gain additional mobility and reduce stiffness. At my first session, Andy said it will take time but it will be worth it. Tai Chi is so much more than I thought. Personally for me, it is a healing of mind, body and soul. I currently use muscles I never knew I had! The difference in my body from nine months ago to now is remarkable. I am a 68 year old female with Fibromyalgia and autoimmune compromised. As I sit back and reflect on what a great day I had, I can’t help but smile and think Andy you were SO right! Thank you for your patience, commitment, and genuine dedication in helping others better themselves.

“I have been a student here for around 10 years and am currently a 2nd degree black belt. Throughout my training, not only have I developed great fighting skills, but I have also gained great confidence in my fighting ability, discipline, an extensive knowledge of self-defense techniques, and an inclination towards maintaining and improving my health. Master Kim is a kind and patient instructor and every day I go to class is a good one. I am thankful to have had a great teacher for all my years as a student of the martial arts.“
“I been taking my stepson here for a couple months and they are great with the kids and teaching behaviors“
“A great place for families and to learn and experience martial arts for beginners up.“
“We starting going to OKKA Mullica Hill in August and it has been a great experience. I like that I'm able to take the classes along side my daughter. I also like that there are classes that work for all three of my children. OKKA Mullica Hill is run by the Coakley family, likewise they make you feel like family when you join the dojo. In addition to learning karate, they encourage positive behavior both inside and outside the dojo. This program is an excellent program, my only regret is that we didn't start sooner.“
“My son started attending Karate at Martial Arts of South Jersey the first of this year and we absolutely love it! 4 1/2 months in and I have already seen a wonderful change and growth in him. He does a better job listening and following instructions as well as showing respect. I feel like he has learned about setting goals, working hard, and also improved his confidence. It has also sparked a new interest in him of getting stronger and making healthy choices which I love to see. Instructor Amy is wonderful and I would recommend this program to any parent!“
“Staff is so friendly and welcoming. Very patient and thorough while they are teaching. My 5 year old son loves it!!! I was really nervous on who to choose but I am so thankful we chose Yi’s Karate.“
