“For years, I unknowingly dealt with endometriosis, with symptoms primarily affecting my gastrointestinal system. The pain grew worse over time, but at age 22, I was dismissed by a doctor who attributed it to nothing more than hemorrhoids. Fast forward to age 37 [15 years], -- during a hysterectomy for fibroids, my surgeon noted what in his words was a ‘mild case’ of endometriosis. He advised me to do nothing about it and to ‘leave it alone’. However, my symptoms persisted, and after extensive research and a recommendation from a dear friend, I decided to see Dr. Seckin.

I requested that Dr. Seckin and his colleague, Dr. Chu, review my case. Dr. Chu immediately ordered the imaging and diagnostic tests I needed to determine the extent of the disease. The results showed that I had advanced stage endometriosis, that which, properly treated, would also require the expertise of a colorectal surgeon. Dr. Seckin and his team ensured that all necessary disciplines were on hand for my surgery. My surgery ended up being a 5-hour operation including a bowel resection. I’m writing this review almost 3 weeks post-op. Of course, recovery will be different for each individual, but in my case, with the exception of a mild allergic reaction to the surgical glue (which is rare) …. I feel great! The pain and cyclical bleeding that I was experiencing are gone.

Aside from Dr. Seckin’s medical expertise, the thing that truly sets him apart is his compassionate approach. I have a bit of medical trauma and PTSD. The anxiety of being in an operating room again reared its ugly head in the form of a panic attack. With my eyes filled with tears, Dr. Seckin held my hand tightly while lovingly and carefully addressing and easing my fears.

“Dr. Gold is a RARE gem. You won’t get better treatment elsewhere. He is an independent physician and truly cares about the treatment and well-being of his patients. He takes the time to sit down with you in his office and review any questions that you have. He often times will personally call you to review the results of any examinations you needed to have done from a lab work perspective. He is personally dedicated to his patients and it shows. I can’t remember the last time a doctor sat me down in their office and took the time to fully treat me and all my issues. You will get that here with Dr. Gold.“

“They’re good but for whatever reason there’s like a very subliminal attitude in the atmosphere in there …like they try to discourage u as soon as u walk in with that “it’ll b a 3 hour wait” …it’s never that long ..it’s always less than an hour for what I go for which is testing ….then when u go back there they seem to rush everything and b real cold …like the idea of people being in the place irks them …it’s NEVER crowded …the patients are never rude or rowdy when I’m there so I don’t know what the staff be so miserable about …they need some Prozac in that bih …they’re too efficient to be acting all sour all day“
