“When you drive up there's a little farm with some cute and fairly obscure (for NJ) animals out there. The lobby is really nice (albeit BRIGHT at 3am and freezing cold). The prices seem fair for an emergency room. And I presume they did a good job taking care of my dog. But I do have one huge pet peeve (pun intended). While everyone was professional, no one gave me the warm and fuzzies. I've had a lot of pets and a lot of vets. This one kept us waiting for over 3 hours with zero updates. We had no idea if it was going to be 5 min or 5 hours. When asked they advised we were next but were not seen for over another 2 hours. I want more seriously injured dogs to be taken before mine but a heads up would have been nice. This essentially kept us on the hook and mislead us into staying there when there was another 24 hour place that could have taken us much quicker very close by. And at 3 am, getting seen quickly is important. although I don't believe they intentionally mislead us, but rather didn't feel like being bothered as we had seen plenty of front desk people that had plenty of time to spare. They didn't have treats available, which was 100 necessary to get my uncomfortable dog to do what was needed. And also they didn't seem to engage with any of the dogs like I'm used to seeing with a vet and their staff. Not a single "good boy" was heard in the entire time I was there. Not the end of the world but when I've shown up at any other vet in the past, it's a much warmer feeling. This was ice cold. For that reason they would never be my first choice for another emergency but I also wouldn't be opposed to going back if I had to.“
